A Drop of True Blood – Webisodes Promo

Tara (on Bill): “Wonder where he gets his money from?”
Sookie: *plasters on the smile* “The Compton’s have always had money…”

And you know this HOW Sookie? Oh that’s right, your nearest and dearest told you himself. You can wake up to yourself any time you’re ready honey.

If any of you haven’t read Sunnynala’s True Blood blog, you really ought to set aside a couple of hours and prepare to have your mind blown. If she is right about even a quarter of her theories, this season is going to be alot of fun. And this promo is bringing me around to her way of thinking in a big way.

Is this is our first look at Euro-Ho?

Oh so much to chew over in here!!

In other news, Bill is still out in the woods, chewing peeps ears off. How nice to see his true self – glimpses are so rare of late.

WOW thank you for posting!!! so much better than the 15 sec clips.

Seems like they’ll also use the webisodes to show more of Bill’s dark side.

Holy F***ck!!! Okay, first off Yvetta – obviously she is applying for a job at Fangtasia. Yep – I think she was sent by Hallow. Second, did you guys see Bill with that chick??? Stealing money are we from your prey???

Seriously right?? It’s as if he were a gigolo! Maybe that’s how he gets his money! 🙂 I wonder if Yvetta is Pam’s new love interest as well as Eric’s.

It’s hysterical, and kinda does look like he was trying to put some moves on that lady hahaha.

I read somewhere that Eric is up against Pam for Yvetta’s affection, maybe i read it here. Don’t know if this is true

VL, I thought the same! may be with the two because I have not heard anything about an actress for the supposed affair with Pam, but she did not come by chance also think it has something to do with Halow! 🙂
it seems that Tara and Sookie are not really in the best terms, interesting! hehehehehe
but I think Sookie very calm for someone who lost her boyfriend …

I think it might be with the two so that it is made clear that it’s just sex between her and Eric – nothing more.

Brace yourself Ladies because I think that woman is there to sell Bill Sookie’s engagement ring. *gag*

VERY interesting that Bill is wearing the same robe we saw him wearing in the flashbacks to his glory days with Lorena. We have never seen that robe in the present day until now.

That woman is not getting out of Casa Compton alive, mark my words.

I HAVE to believe that you’re right… simply BECAUSE he’s wearing that God-awful robe, reminding us of that God-awful speech he made to Lorena.

But if it turns out that she’s just a jeweler, toting along a suitcase full of engagement rings from which to choose, I’ll feel violated. LOL.

I thinks she might be Portia because AB said we’ll know about Bill relatives this next season and Sookie make reference about Bill’s money at the begining of the video.

Why the hell did he save that awful robe? Couldn’t afford to update it Bill or are you sentimentally attatched to it. Not a flashback cuz the women in dressed modernly. Isn’t this the robe that he made his huge suicidal gesture in..he didn’t look good in it then, not any better now.

          • April 19, 2010 at 5:11 am

No. There’s definitely a reason that robe has been hauled out for this scene. Where the hell is Sunny she should be ALL OVER this.

Oh God, I just had a horrible though regarding that robe. I wonder if they’re going to save it and force Eric to wear it in Season 4. Because in the book it’s mentioned a few times how Sookie gives Eric Bill’s old robe to wear before she gets Jason to go pick him up some clothes. Ugh. Of course though, if anyone can make that thing look good, it would be Eric, lol.

          April 19, 2010 at 4:54 am

Yeah i think you are right SVB….there has to be a reason he’s wearing the same robe he was with that Lorena scene. I dont think it has anything to do with an engagement ring, or even if it does thats not the only thing that going to be going on…Bill’s going to be doin something bad, at least feeding on her or something worse. That will shatter his whole “mainstreaming” B.S. that certaing people have been buying for so long.

          • 30 Dee
            April 19, 2010 at 5:40 am

I also find it extremely weird that he is wearing that robe and has no shirt on. If he is buying an engagement ring then why would he be dressed that way to buy a ring? even his hair is done differently. It also doesn’t seem like him at all, if he were conducting such a task then whats up with the robe with no shirt. “Mainstreaming Bill” would wear khakis with a button down shirt.

            • April 19, 2010 at 5:48 am

Excellent point. If that was someone he was expecting – ie. a jeweller or a wedding planner (as I have seen speculated elsewhere…the mind boggles, really) – then Bill would have been dressed.

              He wasn’t expecting this woman.

                April 19, 2010 at 6:06 am

There has to be some other explanation bc otherwise for him to dress that way to buy jewelry is just awkward, or even if she is a wedding planner lol. I wonder if there are casting calls online for these minisodes, that might help figure out who she is.

You know, it occurred to me that the money issue is YET ANOTHER Maryann parallel. Maryann claimed to be a social worker, and yet she lived in this palatial estate with a seemingly endless supply of pot, papaya… and fresh towels.

But NO ONE asked where she got her money… not even SAM, who found a dresser full of cash in her house the first time they met.

                      Weird, I say.

This made me LOL! 🙂 That’s too true! 🙂 And then on top of all that, Maryann then tells Tara the house wasn’t hers and she’s essentially homeless. Well, she and her chef/butler are homeless. I don’t know about you, but that would have raised a red flag for me. LOL

                  April 19, 2010 at 2:09 pm

No, she isn’t the same woman. The woman who delivered the dress was a young woman, and this one looks more mature than her.

Bill’s robe is the same he was wearing in his 1935’s flashback when he was reading the mithology book with the maenad info (you know, because he is younger but wiser and more intellectual than Eric, who doesn’t even know what was “that creature” in TB…) and when Lorena brought for them the red beret’s girl.

It could be a flashback of something that happened later to that, because he is actually at his own house and not in the same house he had with Lorena. But the woman’s outfit doesn’t necessarily reflects the vintage/art deco fashion style of that time, and also could easily be seen as one of our present time.

Of course, because Bill’s never going to do anything bad on the show!….LMAO….why would they wast a miniepisode on something lame like that? If they are going to have a miniepisode, it will be showing something important about Bill that we haven’t see before. I think this pretty much guarantees its not just going to be the woman delivering a dress. We dont need to see that to fill in gaps from season 2. That might be the reason she’s there, but something else will happen.

                    April 20, 2010 at 3:21 am

Personally, I don’t care if she’s a dress lady or not… the timing still doesn’t work out.

Assuming Bill spent the last few minutes of the previous night snuggling with Sookie in her magically clean bedroom, that doesn’t leave ANY time for him to arrange for the delivery of the dress the next day (much less hand write a note to go with it). And I just can’t see how it could have happened after they got back from Dallas, since he was with Sookie the whole time leading up to his visit with the Queen.

So that leaves two options: Either he arranged everything WAY ahead of time– i.e. BEFORE the events of the second season premiere, which still doesn’t explain how he was able to request the dress to be delivered the day after the showdown with Maryann– or someone arranged it FOR him. Someone who KNEW that everything would be resolved in Bon Temps, and that there would actually be an opportunity to go out to a restaurant that DOESN’T serve human hearts.

                    Someone like the Queen.

At first when I heard about Yvetta, I thought thats how Eric finds out about Bill working for the queen to seduce Sookie. The fact that she is Czech(cant speak english i think) and in Shreveport doesnt sound right. I remembered the Queens Latvian boy and thought maybe she was one of the many humans the queen had in her palace. But being sent by the queen to distract Eric sounds very possible, and not to mention the Hallow story. Curious to find out why she really is there

I know we’ve already speculated that Yvetta may have been sent by the Queen. Also, Sunny has a (very good) theory that the Queen may be into some kind of human trafficking operation. (We saw her buffet of blood donors lined up at the ready… and it isn’t clear whether they’re there for the lifestyle benefits– assuming there are any– or for other reasons.) And as far as I know, Eastern Europe is a hotbed of exploitation in the illegal sex trafficking business.

Could all of this tie together somehow? It does seem random that they would write Yvetta as being Czech specifically, as opposed to being Louisiana swamp trash, you know?

                    • April 20, 2010 at 11:17 pm

It could do MAS. I would like to see Yvetta tied to Hallow some how but I never get what I want on this show so I’m not holding my breath LOL.

You’re right, the Eastern European connection within QSA’s court does seem random (which of course means it’s probably not).

Well Yvetta could be serving in BOTH capacities (as spy AND slave, like Daphne) if Hallow turns out to be somehow connected to the Queen. In fact, the Daphne parallel is already in place, considering the fact that Yvetta is arriving under the pretense of being a prospective employee.

Every other character in this show has been betrayed by their sexual partners. Maybe it’s finally Eric’s turn…

[Every other character in this show has been betrayed by their sexual partners. Maybe it’s finally Eric’s turn…]

This is a very good point and I think it’s definitely coming. She must be a spy for either QSA or Hallow (or both somehow). Otherwise why would we care about a new dancer (or love interest) at Fangtasia – I don’t think the writers would introduce her for absolutely no reason. Plus to be so specific about her country of origin makes me suspicious. I completely forgot that you guys had considered there could be a possible connection between Ludis and Yvetta as well. Very interesting! Ludis’ “magic” comment definitely has some meaning, I’m sure.

As an addendum to that, I also REALLY don’t think Alan Ball is going to go with the original plotline of Hallow wanting Eric to serve as her one-man stud farm for two weeks. (That was just ridiculous…ly awesome. LOL!)

So I’m wondering if Eric’s amnesia (assuming it’s going down that way) won’t be turned into a failsafe rigged by the Queen, in the event that he steps out of line (e.g. by threatening to expose Bill, or by threatening to expose HER).

I mean, if she somehow ends up in court for dealing V– and oh my, the main witness has magically lost his memory– that would be very convenient, wouldn’t it?

Likewise, we’re all thinking that Bill’s ulterior motives will be revealed this season– and maybe they WILL, just not to Sookie. If Eric finds out about everything– and it looks like he’s already on the trail– it makes sense that she might have his memory erased to keep him from telling Sookie.

In this case, Sookie may yet break up with Bill because of an indiscretion with Lorena… not to mention a possible rape… and may only find out the real truth in season five or later.

I still don’t know how either scenario would lead to the witch war– which I really hope we’ll get to see– but both would definitely fit into the groundwork the show has already laid.

So I checked and indeed the Czech Republic is a source country (as well as a transit and destination country) for human trafficking. It’s become such a rising problem that the Ministry of the Interior has established a special department for crime prevention, which deals specifically with illegal migrants and the sex trade. Very interesting!

                      {So I’m wondering if Eric’s amnesia (assuming it’s going down that way) won’t be turned into a failsafe rigged by the Queen, in the event that he steps out of line (e.g. by threatening to expose Bill, or by threatening to expose HER).}

I think this is VERY plausible. Maybe it’s Yvetta that Chow kills thus setting off the curse/spell.

Unless his amnesia is not related to that at all and is related to the V – maybe they do really just want to kill Eric for his blood (or as retaliation because he’s searching for them). Having the amensia would make him more vulnerable. I don’t know – just grasping at straws here. lol

I wonder how they will work in the “being close to his hearts desire” aspect though. Of course, the Queen now realizes that his hearts desire would be Sookie (she’s not stupid and the guards heard the little argument between him and Bill) so of course that’s the first place they would look for him. Hmmm… maybe Sookie will find him roadside on the way to Shreveport for some reason, instead of running around in Bon Temps. We know Sookie goes to Fangtasia on her own (presumably) to look for Bill. And after the events of season 3, I assume her and Eric will be on far more familiar terms, so a visit (for whatever reason) wouldn’t be out of the question.

The “heart’s desire” explanation seemed like an afterthought that CH cooked up to appease readers, anyway… so I’d be perfectly happy to see it eliminated.

Wow all very interesting and definitely possible. Plus there seems to be too much focus on Yvetta for just being a dancer at Fangtasia. Definitely seems like she will have a bigger role, and with the possibility of recurring role makes it even more suspicious. I also noticed on IMDB that she will also be in the 4th episode, and by the 4th ep shouldn’t Eric be in Jackson? Maybe I am just assuming he’ll be there already or even be there(i hope) so if that is the case then why would we see her in the 4th episode?

From the beginning I always thought Yvetta had a connection with QSA, so i would love it if my suspicions were correct.

Yvetta being a spy sounds very likely and would make a lot of sense, of course QSA would want to keep a better eye on Eric. Also, I am assuming that QSA shows up at Fangtasia bc she heard of Bill’s disappearance and I doubt Eric would want her to know, so maybe she finds out from Yvetta. The timing is also perfect, Yvetta shows up after Eric’s visit with QSA, probably thinking this human will distract him from Sookie so Bill can continue seducing her, and keep an eye on him with the V dealing. Also maybe prevented him from being the hero with the whole maenad business, and let Bill come to the rescue.

I also like your idea of QSA putting a spell on Eric so he won’t remember dealing V for her, thats if there is a trial which sounds like there definitely will be one.

Maybe we can also blame Yvetta for Eric’s hair change lol

[I still don’t know how either scenario would lead to the witch war– which I really hope we’ll get to see– but both would definitely fit into the groundwork the show has already laid.

Maybe QSA accuses Eric of acting alone and since he has no memory, he cannot defend himself. Maybe Sookie & Co have to try to break the spell in order to save his life and that’s what leads to the witch war. Although Pam knows the truth but maybe Eric has some sort of hard evidence against the Queen. Not a sound theory on my part, I admit. lol

[The timing is also perfect, Yvetta shows up after Eric’s visit with QSA,]

Yeah, it’s all very suspicious. There is definitely more going on here than a simple pole dancer/sex partner for Eric (and possibly Pam) at Fangtasia.

In fact, the Daphne parallel is already in place, considering the fact that Yvetta is arriving under the pretense of being a prospective employee

Good point! And yes, her showing up right after his visit to the queen is very suspicious. I do hope she’s a witch in the queen’s employ and ties in somehow to Hallow.

Okay, so I went back to look at the casting calls for episode 4 (to get and idea of what the 9 in “9 Crimes” might refer to) and I found this gem:

                      STRIPPER / ANN
Exotic and striking-looking, but dead behind the eyes, this scantily clad stripper is glamoured and devoured by three vampires…GUEST STAR. Topless nudity required. Submit strong actresses.

I think this will totally relate to Yvetta (with both of them being “exotic” human strippers, it seems inevitable) and may offer even more support for the idea that some kind of human sex/blood trafficking is happening among the vampires.

I just hope the three vampires mentioned here aren’t Pam, Eric, and Chow. I would cry.

I am also of Eastern European background although Ive lived here in the US my whole life but my parents were the first to come here and still have most of my family overseas. I do know many speak english and sorry if my post came out wrong, I wasnt saying that if youre from the czech republic means you don’t speak english. The only reason i said that part is bc i read online on some blogs that she doesn’t speak english, maybe even in the casting call it said that. So please dont take it the wrong way that I just assumed she wouldn’t speak english.

no, I am German not Czech. I only told you this because I wanted to show that there it is very likely that a young czech woman can speak English. The idea that Ludis and Yvetta might be connected in some way is very interessting, as the queen seems to have a liking on Eastern Europe boys :-). Maybe this Eastern-Europe = vampirism thing (only remember the Dracula legend) attracts SA.
Why is Yvetta Czech? There might be some reasons
                    (1) Czeck women often look a bit like Yvetta and Eric is familiar with this type that resembles the beauty ideal of his viking youth.
(2)The Czech Rep. is still a bit exotic as country, most people do not know so much about it compared with countries like France, GB or Germany. On the other hand it is still a part of “the West” a member of the EU and the NATO thus the idea of a young Czech woman imigrating to the USA is understandable.
                    (3) Now compare: We have Sookie who never left BT and a good-looking, sexy stripper from “far away”. Sooie will die due to jeaulosy because Yvetta has exactly those things Sookie lacks.

I agree, Czech women are known to be beautiful, most of the top 10 supermodels are czech. I guess she’ll represent an exotic beauty. I am still thinking there might be a connection between Yvetta and QSA but who knows.

It is strange that he was one of the lastest in the credits but was in the middle of the poster of the seasson.

Every time I watch TB I just get irritated, has anyone found a way to cope with this haha? I know it is separate from the books and I try to view it as such, but I love these character’s so it is difficult to not be disappointed. April 19, 2010 at 2:19 am

So I have to bring this up… because at Sookieverse blog, it always comes back to the hair. LOL…

I posted this theory at Sunny’s blog the other day:

“Some more thoughts on the hair:

I’m still not sure why they changed it, but I must make the observation that the new hair looks an awful lot like Godric’s hair. Maybe, in the event that there’s not an overt connection, we’re at least supposed to make a subliminal or symbolic connection on our own– namely, that Godric has now been assimilated into Eric.

Also, I have now decided that we’re definitely going to see Pam doing Eric’s hair in one of the minisodes that are supposed to air before the third season begins. At first, I didn’t think so, because I thought it would rule him out as Bill’s kidnapper. BUT, because we saw Eric go down to his dungeon to deal with Royce mid-highlight-session last season, I think that viewers could just as easily assume that the cut and color is taking place POST-kidnapping– and that BILL is the one in the basement now.

In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s precisely what Sookie assumes. So go figure.

Anyway, as to the first point, I’m still grappling with whether or not this was an intentional change on the part of the show. Maybe it was a little bit of both. If it was part of the plan all along, I would have thought they’d reveal Eric’s new hair in the first scene we saw him in post-Dallas. But maybe Alexander Skarsgard’s hair actually WAS shorter when shooting began, so they decided to write it into the storyline in a meaningful way (hence the darker color) as opposed to trying to hide it.

Like I said before, they had already set the precedent… so why not? Things to wonder about…”

To my point: I couldn’t help but notice that Eric’s hair has ALREADY changed in that short snippet featuring him, Pam, and Yvetta. So presumably, his hair change happened sometime in between his visit to the Queen and the night Bill is kidnapped. To which I must ask… will it be explained, or are they ACTUALLY going to just let it go without explaining ANYTHING????

    I know I probably shouldn’t care… but I can’t help it. I do. *sulks*

    • April 19, 2010 at 3:39 am

I am never going to get any closure on this. I just know *sniff*.

Honestly I’ve thought about it being symbolic of something, but I just don’t think it is.

Ball’s glib response when he was asked about it makes me suspicious. I mean, first they cut it off. Then they dye it? I really think they’re trying to divorce this Eric from book Eric.

Imagine if Bill showed up with blonde hair? OH the fucking outrage. Eric is light to Bill’s dark – as it was, and as it ALWAYS SHOULD BE.

This whole hair thing is giving me a headache 😦

      • 115 MASpencer
        April 19, 2010 at 3:51 am

        You and me both. 😦

And I totally agree that the contrasting physical appearance is a key bit of symbolism. Obviously, there’s not much they can do if AS’s hair was shorter coming into production. (Extensions? Umm… no. Eric Northman would not have some busted weave.) But if they colored it, with the way the show has been styling his hair all along, the shorter length wouldn’t have even been that noticeable.

But I just don’t get the deal with the brown hair. There HAS to be a reason… especially considering the spotlight they shined on Eric’s “beauty regimen” last season. To say nothing of the fact that it changed in less than 24 hours– more than half of which time doesn’t count, because it was daytime.

        Whatever. Hope springs eternal. Sigh.

It’s weird because it is darker (it looks brown not blonde) but it appears to be the same length as S2. Maybe a little bit shorter. Nope, I think it’s already been changed here – just not as short as it is now.

        • April 19, 2010 at 2:34 am

OK I took a crappy screencap and blew it up.

Hmmm… I’m with VL. The hair looks like it might be slightly longer than the earlier promos, but it’s the same darker color, I think.

But I’m still hoping against hope that the change will be explained SOMEHOW in these minisodes… I mean, that’s a pretty inexcusable continuity error otherwise, seeing as how a dye job can be done in a matter of hours.

            Let the obsessing continue. LOL.

The only ‘semi’ logical explanation I could make from AB’s ridiculous answer in that interview about Skarsgard’s hair, was that the show was dyed it dark and short because it was part of his disguise when he goes to Club Dead, I think someone else on here said this too. He pretends to be someone else, Leif or something right? But in the books he doesn’t cut his hair of course, I think he only puts on glasses haha.

It is true that Skarsgard’s hair was much shorter at the start of filming Season 3 because he had finished filming Straw Dogs, and I think when his hair is cut very short it looks like a light brown color because the blonde it at the ends of his hair (yeah I’m crazy I know and very detailed oriented!)

BUT the recent pictures we have seen, from details magazine and season 3 promos show ever darker brown hair. So my conclusion is that AB is crazy.

Is there a way we can email the show and protest this brown hair? If they want to change book Eric and show Eric that is fine, but keep the blonde hair!!! 🙂

IMO, in that picture, (no matter the lack of light) his hair has like a dirty very dark shade of blond (or very ligt shade of brown (almost greenish), and looks like the style he has in the cover of Details Magazine. Not like S2 hair style… at least for me.

    • 135 legalease
      April 19, 2010 at 4:53 am

The hair was the first thing I noticed as well. I am wondering if this minisode takes places during S2 rather than post-Maryann like the others? If so, they’d be trying to match the S2 hair as closely as possible. I’m also wondering when the minisodes were filmed? ASkars’ hair has been getting longer so my guess is Eric’s hair will grow out with each episode. The length in this clip makes it look like it was recently filmed. It’s hard to tell with the Fangtasia lighting, but the color looks lighter than the S3 pics and darker than S2 although the style looks like S2. I have to admit that I’ve become a bit obsessed with the hair issue. With each new ASkars pic that we get I hold my breath for blonder hair! I was hoping that the hat he was wearing in the Coachella pics was hiding newly-highlighted hair, but the parts that are showing still look fairly dark.

Well, if they are so attached to continuity that they are trying to match Eric’s S2 hair for the minisode, then it gives me hope that there really is a story-based reason for the new do and it will be addressed in the show.

I agree. My current theory: Bill was kidnapped by the V addicted biker werewolves that seem to be all over the first few episodes. The question is, were they just trying to drain him, or were they sent by someone else? Exactly when does Russell Edgington end up entering the picture?

I know the (basic) answer according to the books, but I’m pretty sure True Blood will be changing things up. In fact, I DON’T think Bill is going to be tortured this season at all– at least not the way he was in the books. I do, however, think he might be blackmailed, or co-opted by the King of MS to act as some kind of double agent against Sophie Anne, and forced to stay with Russell Edgington that way. But I wonder now if the restaurant kidnapping is going to be related to that situation at all.

And this supposed “escape” scenario is even more baffling to me. I’m not getting the impression from the spoilers I’ve heard that Bill is going to be chained up in a garage somewhere. So what gives?

      So many questions…

I read an interview with Mariana Klaveno(Lorena) and says she is a monster but wont be monsterous the whole time during season 3 and that she even has pity in some scenes and will surprise people by her actions. Maybe she lets Bill go? bc that whole clip confused me too and that would make sense. There is also the Talbot casting call that says he gives, Bill, a tour of the mansion and Russell has a heart to heart convo with Bill. They might try to get him to turn against QSA. There still are chances of him being tortured, maybe now that he tried to escape they wont be as nice anymore.

Yeah, I wondered what the “revealing” scene referred to myself. It’s clear that we’re seeing how Jess picked up the trucker… but I think we all could have surmised how that went down anyway. Did they really need to fill in that particular blank? It seems like there may be more to the minisode than that.

Also, I think “revealing” was an interesting choice of words. It suggests either a) plain old nudity, which is pretty typical of this show and probably wouldn’t require qualifying, or b) a major plot revelation (or hints thereof) regarding the events of the season finale, and how they will relate to season 3.

Again, I’m wondering how much the events in these minisodes will affect– or even simply shed light on– the plots of season 3. Or if they’re just a little something extra to build excitement and bide the time.

Yeah I am not sure what they mean either and when I looked at that scene again and paused it, fangtasia looks empty. I doubt Jessica will dance for an empty club so maybe it is, Yvetta, showing her dancing skills for Pam and Eric. But maybe there will be some other Jessica scene in a club with some nudity.

It seems like maybe they are trying to answer some things that left us all wondering, probably realizing some mistakes they made too lol. Such as how did, Bill, manage to buy a ring, dress and set up the restaurant when there wasn’t enough time. Where does, Bill, get his money from? These are questions that you see people ask on sites all the time. Seems like a lot of it will be about Jessica though but I hope they will give us a bit more insight.

Bill must escape and Eddington finds him. The whole spoiler thing that QSA and Eddington square off at some point leads me to believe Bill tells the king something. Then again, QSA is so fucking annoying who needs a reason…

Kinda OT, and I know it has never been addressed in the books (some vampire mythology talks about it)..but as a horse rider and owner I giggle everytime I see Eddington on that horse. My horses and most horses will not go near anything DEAD, they get real skiddish, some will really spook. There can be a dead 1 inch mole in the garden a mile away and my horse will get nervous…

Whoa SVB, thanks for linking me! No wonder I had so many hits first thing this morning! 😀

The lady who comes to Bill’s house: I haven’t a clue, but notice that in addition to his 70 year old robe he’s also wearing his hair combed back like he used to. I’m wondering if this clip takes place when he first came to Bon Temps, before he put on his fake persona, and before he had even gone to Merlotte’s the first time? I’m thinking he won’t kill the lady as she might be there to give him information of some kind and hopefully this scene will hint broadly at his deception.

Of course you all know I got (overly, lol) excited at the clips of Tara and Sookie’s conversation. THANK GOD someone on TB is finally asking some pertinent questions about Bill and of course it had to be my girl Tara, who is the smartest character on the show, bar none. But I just want to smack that “don’t talk shit about my man” look off Sookie’s face when Tara insinuates Bill might have something to do with all the bad stuff happening left and right. Wake up SNOOKIE, LOL.

By far, the most interesting thing about the promo to me is Sam smashing Maryann’s bull mask. This HAS to take place after the maenad killing because the mask was placed atop the meat statue by Laffy at the beginning of the ritual. The question of why Sam took it is very intriguing to me.

Oooooh, I’m with you Sunny! What is UP with the bull mask????????

I thought of the whole reincarnation thing – that Maryann would make a come back like Sunny theorized. Maybe he’s afraid that she’ll rise again? I hope not because EVERYONE hated that stupid maenad storyline. Or maybe it just has to do with Sam’s guilt over killing her?

I just hope that the entire minisode doesn’t consist of Sam destroying the bull mask Office Space style.

Sam’s pissed at Maryann. We get it. Yawn.

I’m hoping somehow, someway, the bull mask webisode will hint at the deceptive presentation of the maenad killing though I can’t think how just yet.

Wait wait wait! I’m confused. Everyone is saying these are “webisodes” which implies they will only air online, but the promo doesn’t say anything about that, it says “mini episodes” and implies they will air on HBO after the encore eps though it never actually says that. So which is it? Online or on HBO?

      April 19, 2010 at 2:48 pm

At least I understand the promo short cuts will be at HBO online, and the minisodes will be on tv HBO (after the encore episodes of season 2 beginning May 2 as erickrocks says).

    April 19, 2010 at 2:29 pm

I thought that was weird also, Sunny. On HBO eastcoast, last night it said the mini-episodes would be on tv immediately after the encore episodes of season 2 beginning May 2.

They are trying to keep us in a constant state of confuzzlement, lol. I do hope they air on tv though, because if they are controversial in re Bill and they air online only, the BB’s will totally ignore them and act like they never happened.

when they say mini-episode, do they mean like 2 minutes?? 5 or 10 minutes?

are you going to here if they are short cos i don’t know how to get hold of them otherwise, i live in the uk and i’m totally addicted.

also if this is during season 2 and before 3 starts where does euro-ho fit in? just before season 3 starts, while sam is smashing the skull?

is it all set at the end of season 2?

        April 19, 2010 at 4:03 pm

I think these are filling gaps in our knowledge of the events of s2, and maybe s1 as far as the clip of Bill in his robe.

Sam is obviusly smashing the bull mask after the maenad is killed, and going by Eric’s hair I think Yvetta must have come in to Fangtasia some time after the events in Dallas, but before Eric visits the queen.

          April 19, 2010 at 4:17 pm

Eric is wearing the same clothes he weared when he might Bill at the clothes store, so I asume is the day of the meneade attack, before it.

        • April 19, 2010 at 4:59 pm

It states in the promo that there are 6 minisodes. Does that mean that the last 6 episodes of
S2 will have a mini after each airing? I’m so confused. I hope HBO Canada doesn’t screw up the timing, we are getting S2 on Tues. evenings, not Sun.

I don’t have time now to read the comments, though I will later… Just WOW!

For TB s3 Bill really is becoming scary, this promo was good, not as good as Eric/Sookie one, but good endeed.

As to the minisodes… AB is actually writting them!! He himslef?! That seems to be it… I wasn’t thinking highly on them, but after the promo I’m. If they are just a few minutes lenght, then they can’t have any unuseful crap (which should be always, thoug 😛 ), they seem to have a lot of action and to be very interesting. Arg!!! I want to watch them!! And the most important thing, is AB version, done by himself, what will he show us I wonder 🙂

maybe these are like scenes they decided not to use because of time restrictions, so they were shot in sequence but not in the final edit…..

      April 19, 2010 at 4:50 pm

All of the minisodes were written by Alan Ball so I don’t think they are outtakes but specifically constructed scenes that are meant to fill in gaps.

Over on the HBO True Blood web site there is a caption for the Bill S3 promo that says “The 173 year old vampire’s return to his ancestral home of Bon Temps…” Looks like the if Russel Edgington was there (in the promo), Bill and Russell have more history that’s going to be told.

Another theory on the woman who shows up at Bill’s house: Maybe she’s a Bellefleur and she’s come to tell Bill he has no claim on the house because there are living heirs.

Are there any recently dead or missing Bellefleurs that we know of? Maybe there will be in season 3.

    • 181 Dwimordene
      April 20, 2010 at 8:05 pm

I thought about her being a Bellefleur. She could be Portia, we have only seen Andy yet, but we now that in TB at least his sister exist. The bad thing of the theory would be the magic ring… Because her ring really resemble Sookie’s. If it’s the same ring we will see how does Bill gets everything (it could have been him who killed his descendat to own the house)… But I need a magical ring, I hate the change in Sookie’s mood that las episode.

    • 182 Dee
      April 20, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Very interesting and very possible, Sunny. Maybe if not a Bellafleur, could be someone in real estate or dealing with the estate who is checking up on thihngs. Also, since Bill “inherited” the house(which is weird how perfect the timing was hmmm) maybe she is someone who worked on the will. That scene is showed right after, Tara questions Sookie about where Bill gets his money from, I am hoping it was placed there for a reason.

Also, didn’t they say that this season, Andy, will find out about a relative and it will shock him. Maybe this is the lady that will reveal this information and maybe even how Bill finds out in the first place.

still wouldn’t explain why he is dressed that way for such a meeting lol but maybe she showed up unexpected.

        April 20, 2010 at 8:41 pm

Yeah, weird indeed how someone always dies when Bill needs something.

Indeed, the lady could be someone in Real Estate or someone in an official capacity, like Uncle Bartlett’s lawyer who came to visit Sookie, who has come to inform him of matters concerning the estate.

DWIM–perhaps Bill killed the woman and stole the ring, and then turned it over to SA to have the spell put on it.

          April 20, 2010 at 9:00 pm

It looks like the woman is wearing a pearl ring not a diamond one though. It does not appear to be the same ring.

I was just wondering… I couldn’t really see it, the image has such a great quality! I really prefer is not! He can steal it too, though 😀 lol

LOL I was wondering the first time too because I was hoping we would see him kill her then steal the ring. I axiously checked to see if it was the same ring and it wasn’t. I was sooo disappointed! But at the same time, it gave me hope that we are all right and that end the end it is the Queen that provided it.

What I’ve been really blessing over ever since I got that far in the books (im on fdtw) is will the show go in the same direction with bill? Obviously he gets kidnapped but I don’t thing by the same person as in CD. I’m also talking about with what he admits to sookie in Definatly Dead. What do u think?

    • April 27, 2010 at 7:01 am

I think the whole Queen thing will definitely be included. The signs have been there since season 1 in the dialogue, and Ball has said that the writers have been aware that is where they are going since the beginning. Being that this is Alan Ball, and he knows that a decent proportion of his viewers have now either read the books, or else know what happens in them – I think there will definitely be an additional twist. It won’t play out exactly the same way, I actually think he will make Bill’s betrayal even worse.

Historically, Ball doesn’t get attached to his “leads”, so even though I rib about his Bill hard-on, I don’t really believe that he is attached to some romantic ideal of Bill as some seem to believe. You only have to watch some of his other stuff to see that he doesn’t mind taking his characters to sometimes quite shocking places. In fact, he relishes it.

Re the kidnapping – I’m *sure* that is going to be different. There are lots of theories here as to how that might play out, though I do believe we will get a version of a trunk scene…not sure how far he might go with that though. Over the edge, I hope 🙂
