True Blood Season 3 – Poster #5 Bill

“Answers” to Bill.

I found that kind of funny for some reason.

The character per poster theory is definitely gaining some ground, I think.

Answers to Bill cracked me up too. I wonder if Sook roamed the neighbourhood whistling and calling for “Beehl” all night? Damn vamp got off his leash.

Which means Bill ain’t the VILF. LMAO

I actually like this one too!
Clearly Eric is the VILF 🙂
Although if it is one poster per character, who does “get your fill” apply to?

This one is much better than last week, it’s pretty funny.

Hmmmm wonder if we’ll see a similar one next year for season 4. I know AB is going with the AE line but wonder if he’ll use it in the promo posters

I hate to admit it but Poor Biieell doesn’t look too bad in that photo! I mean, the lady bangs are gone, and he’s actually less pasty-faced!
That’s probably their plan — make Bill look decent and f*ck up the Viking! C-ya–time to cancel HBO!

Maybe to make him more attractive when he is trying to win Sookie back after his secret comes out. This way it makes the bill/sookie/eric triangle more interesting played out on TV and makes the competition better.

But maybe also because ALOT of ppl complained about Bill’s hair and make up haha. Not just from fans but articles complaining about it and calling out TB on some of their faults.

The funny thing is that the photo of Bill almost look like he did in S1. But obviously I never paid close attention, so, don’t quote me on this one lol.

      • April 21, 2010 at 11:01 pm

I agree. Looking very much like he did in the Descendents of the Glorious Undead episode.

I don’t know… My first reaction when I saw the label was to remind the posters Hallow made of Eric when he was amnesic and was hiding at Sookie’s house. And you’re right. He pretty much looks like he did in S1.

Oh, did any of you also noticed that besides Sam’s non-human shapes, this is the first poster that is using an actual pic of one the characters???

You know something, I think that is from the Descendents of the Glorious Undead episode. That’s prob why they used it – because it was the only instance where someone would have taken a recent photo of him.

Good theory about the “1 poster per character theory”. I also agree on the VILF, but who is the watercooler one all about then?

Could be QSA, at least thats what I think. It seems like she is going to get in trouble this season for dealing V and might be a vamp trial of some kind. Maybe part of her punishment is going to be being de-fanged like we saw when Bill went to the Magister. Which would be great considering she threatened to do it to, Eric, but instead we’ll see it done to her.

      • 23 stephernutter
        April 21, 2010 at 10:18 pm

That’s actually a really good theory about QSA. We all know how AB likes to foreshadow stuff, what with the Maryann and voodoo story lines being connected…

    • April 21, 2010 at 11:03 pm

Yeah we hashed this out a little last week, general consensus was that the water cooler was Sophie Anne, and the cuppa Joe one was Alcide. VILF was Eric.

The one phrase that really caught my eye is “No Questions Asked”. I know what it’s supposed to mean here but what it really means is that no one is ever asking any pertinent questions about Bill – ESPECIALLY Sookie. Answers to Bill – apparently we’re finally going to get some answers in S3. Mwahahahaha!

Very good point, I thought it was weird how they had to add that part. Found it funny actually but the “answers to Bill” part was probably strategically placed.

makes him a bit cutesy. treating him like a pet cat.
maybe the ‘no questions asked’ bit is cos he’s a vamp and they just dealt with dallas.

Yap… I thought about that too… 😀 It’s interesting this poster… BUt I don”t understand why they didn0t print a paper and stick it in the bottle instead of manipulating the photo, it looks unreal. The people that work on graphic design at TB are really really bad at their job, non professionals can do much much better… Argggg!!!

I agree with you Dwimordene. I think that the fact that it isn’t a label, but a poster, was the reason why I instantly related it to the posters that Hallow made of Eric while he was “missing” and hiding at Sookie’s house.

Just saw this, didn’t know where else to post it on here. Here is info on s3 ep 10, and what are they planning for last episodes of TB, very interesting.

    “I smell a rat” episode 10

    Director: Michael Lehmann
Writers: Kate Barnow & Elisabeth R. Finch
    Start Date: approx. 5/7/2010

[CHARLENE] 20s, hot, in business attire, she is a figure from Sam’s past. Guest star.

[JON] 20s to 30s. A slick con man from Sam’s past, he is seen in a flashback to 2003. Cocky and sneering. Guest star.

[JADE] 30s, female. A big-haired, vamp-hating goon, she thinks all “fangers” should pay. She and her husband, Vern, head to Bill’s to deliver an attempted beatdown but Jade quickly finds herself at Jessica’s mercy. Guest star.

[VERN] 30s. This angry, ignorant, vamp-hating goon and his wife Jade think all “fangers” should pay, and they head to Bill’s to enact a hate crime or two. Vern quickly discovers that he’s in over his head. Guest star.

[TONY] Male, 20s, “tall, dark and sexy in a runaway junkie kind of way,” this prostitute out for a fix vaguely resembles Talbot, which is why he’s picked up by Russell. Tony has no idea what he’s in for. 6 lines, 2 scenes.

[VAMPIRE LAWYER] This vampire lawyer prepares a last will and testament for Eric. 2 speeches, 2 lines, 1 scene.

[ANCHOR] Seen on TV, this male news anchor reports that hate crimes against vampires are expected to rise. 1 speech, 1 scene.

[NEWSCASTER] Seen on TV, this newscaster reveals that no information on Russell’s whereabouts is forthcoming. 1 speech, 1 scene.

[FEMALE COP] This female cop approaches Russell and shines a flashlight on him, asking him to turn around. 2 lines, 1 scene.

    • April 22, 2010 at 1:36 am

that was my first reaction too, only part I cared about.

Hmmm seems like there will be a lot of human on vampire violence so maybe why he thinks of doing it?

I am gonna try to stay positive and think of ways this can help. Maybe with the threat of something happening to Eric, it will make Sookie realize that she has some feelings for him. Also, maybe he puts her in his will, which would show Eric’s caring side. Also, might make Eric think more about his life and think about his feelings for Sookie.

Whoa! So this would be towards the tail end of the Season when they’re moving into the amnesia storyline. I’m curious about the “2 speeches”. I wonder if this has something to do with the magister. So maybe Sookie and Pam really do have to try to save Eric’s life like in Book 4.

                April 22, 2010 at 2:46 am

Yep, Eric believing someone is out to get him could definitely be setting up the story for the curse and Season 4. I had forgotten that there was a spoiler out there that the magister may appear this season. I have a pet theory that Eric kills Talbot out of revenge on Russell. That could definitely get him thrown in front of the magister.

                • April 22, 2010 at 2:53 am

I really think Sophie Ann and Eric will end up in front of the magister. Actually, I’ve been meaning to start keeping an eye on what that actor who played the mag is doing work-wise. Will get on that….

I wonder if Yvetta appears in some of these final episodes. I’m theorizing she’s the rat and sets off the curse somehow. Similar to the chick Hallow sent as her “ambassador” when she was trying to get Eric to agree to her terms.

Hee! I’m definitely onboard the Eric kills Talbot out of revenge train. If I remember correctly, AS said that the revenge was tied to Eric’s human life, and Russell is 2300 years old. I’m willing to go out even further on the ledge and say that he waited this long because Godric forbid him to do anything and that Russell and Godric are connected. After all, we’re getting Godric flashbacks this season.

                      Oooooh! Interesting thought.

They will have to turn Talbot into a pretty mean character for viewers to see this as justified, though. But I believe Alan Ball suggested that Russell Edgington would be part of a “triumvirate of evil”… so it’s hard to imagine that we’ll feel TOO bad for him.

I wonder if Russell and Talbot are going to be like the vampire versions of Steve and Sarah. Seems like they may be setting that parallel up.

There definitely might be a connection between Russell and Godric. In an interview it was said that AB and Dennis O’hare, had a meeting to talk about the character, Russell, and they said he had to be older than Godric and that is why he is 2800 years old. There has to be a reason why he HAS to be older than Godric. Which also would explain why, Eric, waits so long to avenge something.

                      Lightbulb moment:

Any chance that Godric’s tattoos were rune symbols? If so, that’s a DEFINITIVE connection to Russell’s supposed Celtic origins.

Somebody mentioned it before, but what if Russell is GODRIC’S maker? Or if not, there’s still an obvious opening for the two to have been enemies somehow. And the association would also establish a very direct connection between Russell and Eric.

My mind is reeling with the possibilites…

              • April 22, 2010 at 2:47 am

I like this. Bearing in mind that this ep is close to the end of the season I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume that Eric’s life will be threatened in season 4. Showing a will being drawn up is pretty obvious foreshadowing.

            • 49 MASpencer
              April 22, 2010 at 2:54 am

My guess: Talbot somehow dies, Russell goes craxy, and starts cruising for men to replace him. He finds this Talbot-lookalike junkie trick and attempts to turn him– but is interrupted by the poor lady cop.

If this turns out to be true, I pity the fool responsible for Talbot’s death. And if Eric’s preparing a last will and testament, I’m going to say it’s HIM.

My prediction: Russell Edgington murdered someone Eric was in love with WAY back in the day. And payback’s a bitch.

Vengeance is a dish best served cold, indeed.

I don’t know – I can’t see Eric murdering Talbot out of revenge on Russell. That would be a cold blooded killing similar to something Bill would do. I think that if he kills Talbot it will be in defense of someone. Sookie maybe?

                    April 22, 2010 at 3:13 am

Possibly. And I agree that Eric probably wouldn’t murder for revenge… and the death would likely be in defense of someone, or accidental. Hell, maybe he’d even kill him in the process of rescuing Bill.

But the straight revenge scenario does have shades of the Longshadow/Hot Rain storyline. So who knows where they’re going with it.

I am so unbelievably curious now…

Yep, you totally read my mind on this! I think that if Eric does kill Talbot, that Russell will seek revenge very much like the LS/Hot Rain storyline. I don’t think Eric will kill Talbot in cold blood though – I think it will be either accidental or in self defense or in defense of someone else. Either way, Russell will blame Eric – much like Hot Rain blamed him for LS even though he was within his right to kill him.

I completely agree with you. What difference could exist between Bill the “sociopath” and Eric the “torturer” if both them also are able to be cold blooded killers just out of revenge?

I do see Eric having a conscience about it at the last minute, though. Or Talbot (assuming he’s the target) doing something really awful to minimize our pity for him.

                  That would work too. LOL.

Oh wait, maybe Louisiana and Mississippi at war? The whole part about a male resembling Talbot reminded me of something. On a site somebody said Talbot might die, maybe he is killed by QSA, and maybe why Eric hires a lawyer for his Will. Russell is gonna go after QSA but maybe she goes after him for payback. For episode 9-the title is “night on the sun” there is a song by Modest Mouse called “night on the sun” the lyrics make me think of QSA and dealing V, so I think thats when problems for her start.

          here are the lyrics:

So, turn off the light ’cause it’s night on the sun
          You’re hopelessly hopeless
          I hope so, for you
Freeze your blood and then stab it into in two
Stab your blood into me and blend
          I eat my own blood and get filled I get filled up;
I get filled up on me and end so turn off the light
’cause it’s night on the sun you’re hopelessly hopeless
          I hope so, for you
Turn off the light ’cause it’s night on the sun
          You’re hopelessly hopeless
          I hope so, for you
Freeze your blood and then stab it into in two
Stab your blood into me and end
I eat my own blood and get filled up I get filled up
I get filled up on me and end
Freeze your blood and then stab it into me
Freeze your blood and then stab it into me
Freeze your blood and then stab it in two into stab your blood into me and end
Turn off the light ’cause it’s night on the sun
          You’re hopelessly hopeless
          I hope so, for you

I know!!! I am really liking how the end of the season might play out. A much better ending than season 2, much much much more interesting story.

The main thing to figure out is how Russell, QSA, Hallow(if they’ll cast her), Yvetta all will lead up to AE. There has to be a connection that will lead to that event.

So many extremely insightful people on this site, I am sure someone will come up with some amazing theories.

I agree with you, Dee. We have discussed before the posibility of some kind of war between Rusell and Sophie Ann, and the idea seems to be taking shape.

Thats very good that some of you guessed that a while ago. I thought Russell would put QSA on trial but didn’t realize it might be an all out war until I saw this casting, which just made season 3 even better.

You are also right about the casting, because the Vampire Lawyer cast is definitely leading to something HUGE.

Oh, I’m SO excited about season 3 now!!! When I first saw the episode title “I Smell A Rat” I immediately thought of “The Departed,” natch… which makes me think that these plot arcs are going to be chock full of political intrigue and double-agency. (I have my own pet theory that Russell is trying to get Bill to work for him… or that maybe Bill already DOES work for both kingdoms… I wonder how that will pan out.) Whatever happens, I think that, by the end of the season, we’ll KNOW where everyone’s loyalties REALLY lie.

Anyway, this appears to be a really stellar season shaping up. Which is refreshing, given the mess that season 2 turned into at the end…

Is there a vampire probate court???

I saw this posted on IMDB earlier today and I’ve been trying to figure out what could be going on in this episode. Definitely doesn’t seem like anything from the books. The Anchor description implies that there was some kind of vamp-on-human event/crime/attack. Also, Russell is missing according to the Newscaster and is approached by the Female Cop. He may be on the lamb so possibly it’s Russell who is responsible for the vamp attack on the human/humans. Jade and Vern are two of the vamp haters reacting to the attack and go looking for Bill and instead run into Jessica.

But what did Russell do and is he no longer King of MS? He’s trying to pick up a guy that resembles Talbot – is Talbot dead? Will we be seeing a takeover in Season 3? Will QSA be behind it?

About the will, maybe Eric is reacting to the vamp hate crimes? Between the V-addicted weres and the vamp-hating humans, there seems to be a lot of violence against vamps this season.

Or perhaps the will is because of Russell? I’ve been wondering if Russell is involved in Eric’s revenge storyline – he’s older than Godric. He could have all kinds of connections — he could even be Godric’s maker. Perhaps Eric kills Talbot out of revenge and now that Russell is on the warpath Eric is getting his affairs in order in case he comes after him?

Or, if there is a war between LA and MS, Eric may be preparing for the worst.

OR — this is one of the foilers AB says that he puts out in the casting sides.

      • April 22, 2010 at 2:50 am

I’m pretty sure Ball has said somewhere a while back that there would be tensions between SA and Russell. I can’t recall the context.

Now wouldn’t you think Eric would already have a last will and testament? Doesn’t strike me as the kind of thing he would just suddenly decide he needs to have now. I’m thinking he is making a change to one that already exists. Wonder what.

        • April 22, 2010 at 2:51 am

no scratch that. Perhaps there is a change to the law that will recognise the right of vampires to make a will (would go hand in hand with giving them rights to marry yeah?)

That could definitely be a reason if it is a newly won right and the vampires had no equivalent in their own system. Of course, now I’m picturing the human justice system opening up all of these night courts for the vamps!

Oh, this is very good point SVB! Eric is definitely a business so I’m sure all of his documents would be in order. You’re right – I wonder what the heck he changes.

          April 22, 2010 at 3:01 am

If something happened to Talbot that could drive Russell off the deep end since I believe that Dennis O’Hare said that they’ve been together for 700 years. Perhaps QSA is behind it all? I just wonder if the V dealing isn’t the key to all of this, maybe even Bill’s kidnapping? Perhaps QSA and Russell fight over the V and it spirals out of control resulting in Talbot’s murder and the events leading up to this episode? Russell seems to have done something that has him on the run from the human authorities.

Regarding Eric’s will, you think he would have one after 1100 years if that ‘s part of the vamp system. Perhaps Godric was his sole benficiary and he has to change it? What in the world would be in an 1100 year-old vampire’s estate? Fangtasia, of course, but what else? I’m dying to know!!!

Maybe it’s a “shamed politician” bit? If he was a figurehead for the vampire rights movement, it would be an outright scandal if news broke that he wasn’t as warm and fuzzy as he let on.

His disappearance might be related to something like this… though I can’t begin to guess what he’s done, much less how he would be exposed for it. (Unless, again, he’s in on the V selling, too.) A scandal surrounding such a public figure would also undermine the vampire rights cause, and possibly spark a wave of vampire hate crimes.

AB said that Russell will be one of the 3 villains this season and that he is really evil. I wonder if he’ll be presented in the beginning as this gentlemanly activist leader and slowly have his true colors revealed throughout the season? Maybe he’s publicly outspoken against V but secretly deals it.

I know one thing, if there’s a vampire public scandal, Nan Flanagan will be apoplectic!

This “shamed politician” phrase reminds me of Lafayette in S1. Remember how he threatened the politician that was one of his “Johns” with outing him after he made the anti-gay speech? I think it was that politician that ratted Laf out to the vampires about him selling V. Lafayette disappears…much like Eric’s memory will disappear in S4. Totally out of left field but I thought I’d throw that out there. lol

Good call! That scene HAS to circle back around somehow– if only as foreshadowing. In fact, I was surprised that politician didn’t show up again last season…

        • April 22, 2010 at 11:08 am

This war reminds me of the war in book 6 where Arkansas and LA fight at the party given by QSA.
That is also the book where Sookie finds out about Bill’s betrayal, Hadley is already dead and
we meet the demon lawyer. A lot happened in that book.

    • April 22, 2010 at 4:41 am

Bloody hell. I missed all the speculation. But all these ideas made me jizz my pants with how awesome they were. A+

    • April 22, 2010 at 4:42 am

This also makes me suspect that we’re going to get some version of the staking scene involving the Newlins. But it may not go down anything like the books. An attack would explain the newscast about rising hate crimes, though– especially given how recently Godric’s nest was blown to bits.

I’m assuming it’s the song by Buddy Guy. He was born in Louisiana, so it fits!

The White Stripes have an “I think I smell a Rat” song as well. Idk if this has been talked about in another thread, but maybe the hate crime is why Sookie is hurt this season, not from Bill in the car trunk. There were those pics of Anna P. that came out a while back showing her in the hospital type gown with a bandage.

There seems to be so much going on for this next season already, and it hasn’t even started yet, that I am thinking/feeling there is no way it is going to even resemble anything from CD, except Alcide and the weres.

It could be Big Mama Thornton, too. Actually, listening to that, it sounds more like the type of song they’d have running over the credits…

do you think franklin mott’s change in personality (becoming mikey’s character) will be connected to russell? franklin was in club dead, passed tara to mickey who was a freak.

As if Club Dead did not provide for enough action for a whole season, but Alan Ball is going to spin it his own way. Esp. with the repeated flipping of Bill’s and Eric’s roles in the books. In Club Dead, Bill is setting up to provide for sookie if he does not return. I guess in ALan Ball’s world Eric will provide for Sookie. I can see Pam rolling her eyes again.

I thought the same possibility, but we’ll see…

Someone also said about Eric’s revenge could be motived because Russell Edgington murdered someone Eric was in love. But IMO, that alone will just reduce the validity and strength of the feelings of Eric to Sookie, especially after AB also flipped and used on Bill the statement Eric made in the books regarding “not feeling for anyone something so deep and intense in more than xxx number of years”.

        April 23, 2010 at 12:23 am

I hope we don’t see someone Eric was in love with in the past. I prefer for Eric to have never been in love but you never know what they’ll do on the show. I hope that since AB had Eric say “don’t use words I don’t understand” when sookie said he has a lot of love for Godric, that they’re going in the direction of him not knowing about love and thats why he doesnt understand his feelings yet for Sookie. Unless Russell did something to his human family soon after Eric was turned but I don’t know how likely that scenario is. Although, there will be a flashback with Eric’s parents but I think these flashbacks are before he was turned.

Russell, had to do something to somebody though bc they did use the word avenge not revenge, right? With revenge it could’ve been something done to Eric himself so we know thats not the case, hmmm who is he avenging? I just hope it’s not a woman from his past.
