It does seem to stop short.. at the 2:26 mark, even tho the player says it goes to 3:19..

      Tara’s expression is priceless.

Yes, it does. What transpires after the cut-off is basically Lafayette asking Tara WTF is wrong with her, Tara saying you have to be crazy to date a vampire, Lafayette calling Tara a bitch, and Tara saying she’s not the only one.

You can watch the whole thing (provided you’re not an international viewer, it seems) here: http://www.tv.com/video/10445893/true-blood-season-3–sookie-tara-and-lafayette-minisode?tag=recently_added;thumb;1

Funny aside: The comments at some of the blogs are priceless! One person was very smug about Tara’s obvious “jealousy,” saying that this was her favorite short because it filled in the blanks so nicely, and of course we always KNEW that Bill got his money from investments!

Just goes to show that you see what you want to see, I guess. LOL.

Oh, and there was another poster hoping that this isn’t a lead-in to Bill’s work with the database.

REALLY? I don’t know how it could be more obvious, but if THAT’S where all of this is heading, Bill fans everywhere will have dodged a bullet the size of Texas. Of course, considering he doesn’t even “like using the number keys to type” and appears to have been without power in his house practically since he’s moved into it, I’m going to say that’s decidedly NOT the kind of secret business Bill’s been up to.

A bomb is SO about to be dropped. And you just know they’re going to save it for right before the premiere.

I can almost forgive the Bill Bangers—almost—for being so deluded about a very sneaky character. What I can’t forgive is them wanting and believing True Blood to be so fucking LAME.

Thee no database because Bill is not interested in computers.

Sookie is going to find out the real Bill and he’s no hero. Sookie should had ask Bill questions about how he getting the money? Sookie never ask Bill anything in the books.

I’m not so sure it couldn’t be possible MAS. Because despite he said he doesn’t like using the number keys to type and it appears that his house have been without electricity since he moved into it, he has a Wii and they have shown him playing at night (even Maxine the zombie played with it LOL). Remember that in the books the vampire’s database is a secret between him and SA, and not even Sookie knew about it until he thought it could be dangerous for his life. And if he knows how to play Wii, he isn’t an ignorant about technology….

LOL SUNNY, exactly so many theories would just make the show boring. AB did not set out to make a first love fairytale romance, show us the drama.

Also, I don’t think he is doing a DB on the show. At least I really hope he is not doing this. Plus he is always with Sookie on the show so I don’t even see how he would have time to compile this DB but who knows.

This is all very true Gigi.

But can I just say that if Bill’s “big secret” ends up being a fucking DATABASE, it will qualify as the most egregious WTF yawnfest in the history of cable television?

Not to mention the fact that any resourceful middle-schooler with internet access can compile a “database” in this day and age. LOL.

LMAO…i went over there and presented valid arguments, mind you without mentioning Erics name at all at first, but then in defense of Bill they all would deflect to Erics bad behavior, and i was like is Eric dating Sookie and about to marry her? Shes about to marry someone she knows nothing about FFS, but if you say one thing against Bill they freak out, even if Eric is not mentioned as being better or superior in any way. They throw in oh ERic killed him, Eric is forcing humans to sell V, Eric made Sookie suck bullets, blah blah. All the sam B.S. Its just beyond insanity. In their eyes, if Bill was ordered to do something, its not his fault. But if Eric is , then it is. Or its not Bills fault because hes a vampire, well shit so is Eric! It makes no fucking sense! If anyone ever wants to come over to The Vault that would be cool. They need more Eric people. Its heavily Bill.

Yep i even said that. I said to the one person, i didnt mention Eric, yet you are bringing him up and deflecting everything im saying. They were bringing up Eric, not me! Yet, they use bashing his character as their one and only defense. Is Eric supposed to marry Sookie? I dont think so. Its like banging your head against the wall over there. One person actually said “Im sure if Sookie asked Bill what his job was hed tell her”…LMAO Okay you go ahead and believe that. Totally reasonable given that Bill always tells the truth about everything.

That’s a very good point. It could also partially explain why after her freak out, she came running back hellbent on marrying him anyway. Girlfriend was being stubborn and didn’t want to end up with egg on her face when Tara inevitably found out about the whole thing.

          May 11, 2010 at 4:37 pm

Sookie in the books never ask questions. In the book Sookie has habit of hearing human brains what they were thinking. Sookie in the book did a lot of stupid things.

In book two Sookie wonder where Bill has gotten his money and started to think that he gotten by glamouring people to give their money. Tara was asking Sookie and Sookie facial expression she was thinking the same thing. Sookie was defending her boyfriend and I have no problems Sookie doing that. Tara should fallow her own advice but she will not. Tara going to get involve with a very bad vampire.

          • 48 Gigi
            May 12, 2010 at 1:09 am

I disagree with you LLE. In the books Sookie hasn’t the habit to hear humans thoughts, because she’s very respectful of other’s people privacy. She learned how to shut up other people’s voices precisely because it was confusing and incapacitating to her. And sometimes she can’t help to “hear”, because it isn’t like she can take her brain out to avoid it… But what she does indeed is that she uses her telepathy when she’s on a mission or in a situation that is dangerous to her, her family or the people she’s helping or working for.

And in fact she’s by far a lot more intelligent in books than in the show, because, even when she make a lot of mistakes, or doesn’t ask too many questions and doesn’t have a formal academic instruction, she’s clever enough to find solutions and get out by herself from a lot of dangerous situations without nobody’s help. She’s strong and shes resilient, and those two characteristics aren’t found on dumb people because it’s needed to think in an intelligent way in order to survive. Even with her lack of experience with men, she didn’t needed a friend to tell her there was something wrong with Bill. Because even when she loved him, she never was so whiny, clingy, and dependent of him, and that is because she actually has a very independent personality. And most of all, she has never been in the books the annoying “BEEEHL BEEEHL SAVE ME BEEEHL!!” damsel in distress that she is in TB… (that even needs from Bill to remind her when to use her telepathy).

Sookie always hears humans thoughts and knows a lot crimes but Sookie does not say any thing. Sookie knows all the human secrets in her town. Sookie rarely blocks anything. Sookie has hard time read Sam because block her. Sookie has problem reading were-animals.

Sookie in the books have very low-esteem and does not think good of herself. Bill tells Sookie what to wear. Sookie in the second season became very needly of Bill. In the church she was waiting for Bill to save her. Sookie can kick butt on the show and in the books. Sookie in the books get herself in trouble she thinks of getting herself out of it by her self. On the show it’s very difficult for us to see what Sookie is thinking.

      • May 12, 2010 at 12:16 am

The thing was, she didn’t even assume he gets the money from investments. This clip makes it totally plain that SHE HAS NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT AT ALL.

First she throws out the idea that Jessie Compton left him money. When Tara points out how ridiculous THAT idea is, she throws out investments. She’s just spitting out whatever comes into her head and grasping at straws.

Just like you do when you’re trying to sound like you know exactly what you’re talking about….and you clearly DON’T. LOL.

And at least BookSook did do a lot of reading (she read FANG and VAMP) to keep up on the history and social aspects of vampirism! This Sookie doesn’t show any…ANY interest in satisfying curiosity.

You’re right. I guess i meant that she “assumes” in the moment Tara asks that Bill gets his money from investments. She has been so caught up in the good sex and her first romance that she hasnt even thought about whether Bill is trustworthy or not, because hes helped saved her a couple of times. Everyone asks their BF/GF what they do for a living. The fact that she doesnt even think to ask about details of his past or his job just shows how truly inexperienced and naive she really is.

I don’t know PVC, this did seem like a little bit of a return to the Tara I love, with the attitude and the f-bombs all over the place. However, perhaps not getting our hopes up may be a good idea since it seems as if this takes place before Eggs dies. I do hope she doesn’t have too much grief over that. I don’t want to see weepy Tara any more, which I’m sure is unrealistic of me, but oh well.

Sookie definitely comes across as ditzy in this clip and talking out her arse frankly but I agree she should be defending her man (poor girl trusts Beeehl and doesn’t know what a disingenuous tool he is yet). I think one thing they got right in the books and the show is that Sookie doesn’t care about or think about money when it comes to her choice in friends or boyfriends (her wanting to lend Eric money in DitF made me smile…maybe smirk is the better word). But I think that’s endearing. She’s determined to make her own way in life and is pretty adamant about that. Although how she manages I don’t know ’cause the girl does seem a bit financially clueless here.

I thought seeing Tara’s attitude towards vamps in the clip was great given we know she’s about to do an about face. Of course this is before Eggs was shot and Tara’s bound to be more vulnerable at the start of S3 and hence susceptible.

I dont think she should care how much money Bill has, but i think she should at least question where he gets it, as its obvious he doesnt work in the conventional sense. He cant have a day job, and since hes always around Sookie should wonder what he does for money, since he has no lack of it. Im not saying she should care about how much money he makes though. The fact is, she doesnt ask Bill questions about his life, and thats strange. Or he give a vague answer, and she doesnt ask more. She doesnt know much about him.

She is too trusting given that she really doesn’t know much about him. But I think being trusting (and often naive) is just who she is at this point. She asked Bill if he had any more secrets and he said no and she just accepted that. She does seem to realise here that she doesn’t know enough. You see it in her face before she shrugs it off and says, “the Comptons have always had money.” I think this season part of her journey will be learning not to be so trusting, her trust will be broken. I think that’s what’s being set up here. Her character journey throughout the show will show her mature and become smarter and less naive (hopefully).

Tara defeated her purpose by making it more about Bill being a vampire. She should have downplayed that aspect and reminded Sookie that she would/should question her bf about his money etc even if he were human. If he WERE human any reasonable person would be suspicios and think he was a gangster or a con man…lol.

It’s call pride. Sookie and Tara were both victims of getting involved with wrong guy that they both don’t know anything about. At least Eggs talked to Tara about his past and the blackouts. Bill has not told anything about his past as a vampire. Sookie thinks Bill is a saint.

Sookie finds out that drink vampire blood makes sexual attractive to them and does not questions her feelings about Bill is real or am I attractive to him because I drank his blood. The first time she met Bill she was attractive to him like he was a rock star not boyfriend.

I think that is why it annoys me, it also becomes “I have a better relationship than you, I make better choices” I HATE HATE HATE when friends do this. I see it happen all the time in real life and I just never understood it. I see all these women I know who now settled into happy and stable relationships and forget all the stupid mistakes they made along the way to get to that point. I hear friends give advice to single friends and listening to them really makes me laugh. They are quick to judge too and will call others actions as being stupid, immature, irresponsible, naive and etc., but since I know these women, I remember them doing the same exact things and sometimes worse. I give advice to but from the point of view of hey I dont blame you, ive been through that and we all make mistakes and maybe just share whatever I learned from it.

For the most part it is amusing when I hear others who made just as many mistakes judge others and put them down. This is when all creditability is lost about what they say unfortunately.

I also see it coming from an insecure place. Many times people put others and their relationships down in a way to build up their own self-esteem or relationships.

My POV though, this is why I say our own life experiences effect the way we interpret things.

Yes i agree with you, which is why Sookie shouldnt be giving out advice. Yes, she’s with a guy who she thinks is certain things, but shes only been with him 6-7 weeks on the show. Most people wouldnt even consider that a serious relationship yet. She has no relationship experience and no experience with men. She got in too deep too fast with Bill, and didnt stop to think about if she was making a mistake. She hardly knows him. Why hasnt she asked about details of his past? Its so infuriating to me.

I agree with your assessment, I hate when people do that happy coupledom patronizing BS. Tara definitely disparages Sookie’s relationship here, although Sookie IS being naive, Tara’s overly confident at this point as she’s still in her happy, romantic bubble. Sadly (for them) neither one will be as confident in their ability to make good relationship choices next season by the looks of things.

Obviously Tara is willing to overlook things with Eggs but not with Bill purely because he’s a vampire and she can’t see past that. She does show prejudice (although Sookie’s way of pointing that out is tactless to say the least). Again we know that Tara’s view on this is going change soon, which makes her rant seem more sanctimonious.

Tara should had been on Eggs and Tara has no right to judge anybody when she was involved with Eggs. Deep down Sookie was thinking the same thing and she was defending her boyfriend. Sookie is going to wake up and find out that Bill is no hero. The way Sookie was talking about Bill being the big hero for giving Sam his blood why everyone under Maryann. The big hero was Sam and Sookie.

I agree that Tara should take her own advice but it’s easier to look at other people and see what they are doing wrong than it is to look at yourself and see the same thing. Both of them will see what is really happening right in front of them and I can’t wait for that day to come. Sam was definitely the hero and it’s a shame that Sooks is trying to pass that off onto Bill.

In Dallas Bill was no hero and all he did there was running in the church and yell “Sookie,” and threaten to kill everybody if anything happen to Sookie. The big heros were Eric, Jason, Sookie, and Godrich

Bill found out about how to kill Maryann and Sam and Sookie did all the work. Bill did not tell Sam what the side effects about drinking Bill’s blood. Sookie did not warn Sam after he drank Bill’s blood.

Yeah that really pissed me off. Sam helped save her from Renee, and Sam was responsible for killing the maenad. Bill only saved him because he knew how much Sam meant to Sookie. Bills only role was giving Sam blood. Sam went through all the pain, risk, and killed the maenad. And in Dallas, Bill was hardly a hero. Eric and Godric and Sookie were the heroes. The only time Bill has saved her life was from the Rattrays, but he had other reasons for doing that.

But to Sookie Bill save her from everything and he is her hero. Sookie drank Bill’s blood twice and it is making her do stupid things. First time around it did make Sookie’s question Bill things but after the accident from Maryanne she no longer questions Bill anything. The only question she ask Bill “Where were you and why did you not rescue me.” Sookie has been depend on Bill for the second season.

Well actually, at least Tara DID confront Eggs and she knows his past because she did ask. Tara is at least not being hypocritical.

Her ability isn’t that comprehensive just yet. She only gets snippets of things to come, like Bill burning up in her dream or getting weirdly out of sync flashes of Gran’s body while lying next to Bill. She hasn’t put her finger on it yet but if she does she may be able to develop her ‘gift’ more fully.

Another dream is that she thought someone was trying to killed why she sleeping and Bill was trying to go to her but could not because daytime. When Bill woke he rush to her.

Another dream is that Bill was making her breakfast and she got up and the sun arise and Bill burn up. Bill did got on fire when he tried to save her from Renee.

I definitely agree with this. Sookie’s dreams are meant to be omens… they’re definitely used as foreshadowing.

But there’s a big difference between that kind of psychic impression, and divining that Bill will be taking her to the fancy French restaurant just outside of town for dinner.

I definitely think that bit was a boo-boo. And a pretty blatant one, at that. These minisodes are supposed to be FILLING IN blanks, not CREATING them!!! LOL.

Well I looked at the scene where S/B show up to the restaurant and she isn’t surprised about the restaurant he chose, just that he had rented out the entire place. They still goofed because no where did we see a note telling her where they were going. I could be wrong though. HOWEVER, how interesting that Bill could afford to rent out the ENTIRE restaurant – especially in light of this delightful conversation between Sookie and Tara. 🙂

On a side note, I loved that the restaurant was “on the way to Shreveport”. Closer to Eric. Hehehehehe! 🙂

The more I think about it, the less I see this foreknowledge as a major continuity error. Sookie and Bill presumaby spent a little bit of time holding eachother (*gag*) before he left her at dawn the night before. It’s perfectly possible that they discussed going on a date sometime soon, and Bill mentioned the French restaurant then.

Thus, when Sookie got Bill’s note the next day, she just assumed that’s where they were going. (Sookie is very good at assuming, as this minisode demonstrates.)

Anyway, it’s still a stretch. But at least it’s plausible… as in, A LOT more plausible than Bill planning the whole date (restaurant, dress, proposal and all) in the few minutes before dawn on his way back from Sookie’s.

I’m with you, SVB. THIS SHIT MUST BE EXPLAINED.

This was the first miniep I actually thought I might learn something from and then it cuts off. I expected them to bridge S2/3 more. I thought they’d be segues, setting things up for this series and tying up stuff from last, like part recap part promo. But so far they feel more like recaps to me as timeframe wise they seem to be set between returning from Dallas and Bill’s kidnapping. They are relevant to things I know will happen in S3 but I guess I was hoping for them to tell me something I didn’t already know. They’re still fun but they do feel like outtakes or extended scenes from last season (except for the Pam/Eric one which wasn’t just an extension of what had gone before. Loved it, although gold hotpants guy is still haunting my dreams and not in a good way)!

Maybe when I see all of this one I’ll change my mind. I like that the seed of doubt is planted though and knowing Sookie she’ll be curious and start doing some digging into what Bill’s been getting up to in his spare time, think the girl’s in for some shocks though.

[Playboy’s June edition will be on the newsstands Friday, and for the first time ever, the centerfold comes equipped with 3-D glasses.

“What would people most like to see in 3-D?” asked Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. “Probably a naked lady. I’m not a huge enthusiast of 3-D,” he said in a telephone interview. “I leave real life to go to the movies and 2-D is fine with me.” Spoken like a true grumpy old man.

To offset the sizable extra cost of including 3D glasses with every magazine, Playboy let HBO help out. HBO wanted a new way to promote their hit show, True Blood, so paid for the 3D glasses, and branded them with the show’s logo.]

Excuse me… but if Alan Ball said on an interview that he doesn’t wanted TB to be categorized as pornography and wanted to people take his work seriously, and also is expecting to win some serious awards… I really don’t think he’s making a strong effort with this new promo.

For us to get it in the show, she would either be having to do voiceover (which I guess could work), or be saying it out loud, which might make her look a little crazy, lol.

    May 11, 2010 at 5:55 pm

Yeah Tara is saying all the right things and Sookie should listen but at same time Tara is not one to talk and I think this is why Sookie dismisses her. Not just with Eggs, but look at the Maryann situation. After JUST being so naive, Tara really cant talk. She must this complete stranger who took her into her home, bailed her out, and treated Tara like a queen when she lived in the house. She thought Maryann was a social worker, and lived in that house? Tara should’ve questioned Maryann as much as she questions Bill. Then Maryann acts like she has nowhere to live and is down and out. She was living in a huge home with lavish things and next day she has nowhere to go and Tara just says ok. Her and Eggs were constantly blacking out, especially at maryanns parties and that didnt set off any alarms.

If it wasn’t for that I would cheer on Tara a bit more but still glad she is bringing it up to Sookie.

    • 141 sunnynala
      May 11, 2010 at 6:04 pm

Yes, but. Sookie knew full well Tara was questioning Maryann (the scene in the bathroom in “Scratches”) and didn’t trust what was going on with her.

The problem is that Tara is not confident enough yet to trust her own gut and intelligence.

      • 142 Dee
        May 11, 2010 at 6:31 pm

Yeah but Tara still was blinded by that whole situation. Even sam tried to warn her and she questions it but then lets it go.

Exactly! so I think she should understand others are the same way. They’re both wrong and I think Tara should tell her things but differently and not act that way when she JUST went through something similar. Even more interesting is that Franklin Mott comes to her rescue this season and she will be with him so maybe another reason is to also show Tara doesn’t trust vamps but again someone is willing to care for her and she wont trust her own instincts and just go with it.

        • 143 sunnynala
          May 11, 2010 at 9:22 pm

But Sookie hasn’t questioned one single damn thing about Bill since the night she first slept with him. Before she got dickmatized a lot of things bothered her about Bill. Suddenly she gets the cold beef injection and starts swallowing whole everything Bill tells her.

Now the silly bitch doesn’t think there is one thing wrong with her Knight in Shining Armor.

The difference with Tara is that she was RIGHT to trust the “real” Eggs. Left to himself and free of MA I doubt he would have ever intentionally hurt or betrayed her. He truly loved her, pathetically so, and understood the real Tara. The same cannot be said of Bill and his intentions toward Sookie.

          • 144 Dee
            May 11, 2010 at 9:51 pm

You are right and understand what youre saying but I’ll explain why I give Sookie more slack than Tara. Tara walks around thinking she is smarter than others and always there to tell people what they’re doing wrong and judging them. Now if she didn’t make huge mistakes then fine preach it but comes off more annoying when she does it. If she understood her own mistakes then it would be a lot better. Maybe I just think her timing is bad too, I mean Sookie basically tried to help her, help the town and Tara is attacking her. Again she destroyed Sookie’s house lol so maybe sit down with her and have a heart to heart. But then we wouldn’t have this minisode lol.

Sookie can be annoying but in S2 we saw her helping more than Tara and more effective, even if she is blinded by Bill. Tara went off on lafayette and Sookie even when she wasn’t under some spell. I even thought it was messed up when she said “you want Sam, leave me and eggs alone”(i know not exactly how she said it) Sam was her friend and there for her and she basically sounded like she was saying, just go after Sam and leave me alone. Sookie tried to help Tara and get Bill to help get her out from under maryann’s spell. Tara had her mom pull a gun on them and take Sookie’s car, which was messed up considering it traumatized Lafayette. She didn’t care about anyone else but Eggs at that moment. I don’t think Sookie would do these things to people she cares about even for Bill, she’d want to help but not step on everyone while doing so. I think this is why Laf even called Tara a bitch, he saw Sookie trying to help her, knows Sookie probably had a hand in saving them and maybe she should cut Sookie some slack.

My problem wasn’t her studipidy with eggs but with Maryann, although Eggs was a bit of an idiot too. Her motives were a lot more suspicious than Bill’s. It’s easier to believe a man is interested you to start a relationship. But some woman just takes you in and does all these things for you just because.

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said. Tara went nuts this season and acted like an ass. No one can deny that. She made a lot of mistakes even when she was out of the trance and many more when she was. but let’s look at it this way:

All Tara was trying to do, sincerely, was get Sookie to open her eyes and ask some questions. She wasn’t judging Sookie or accusing her of doing anything wrong.

SOOKIE is the one who got defensive and went on the attack. She INSISTED that Tara be honest with her, and Tara told her but she said “I’m entitled to be worried about you”..regardless of our friends mistakes or flaws or faults, we still listen to them and try to hear them, especially when we know the friend only has our best interests at heart.

Let’s not forget, Tara was manipulated by the BEST. A creature thousands of years old to whom manipulation and subterfuge and exploitation was like the very air they breathed. Tara never meant to hurt Sookie and was deeply grateful to be living in a house that held so many warm memories for her. None of it was deliberate or intentional. She was a pawn just like Sookie is.

I think in the end we can say they both are just idiots lol. Well don’t want to say idiots, everyone makes mistakes and I guess seeing faults in someone else is always easier than seeing our own.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Tara although S2 she was a bit annoying but I also found the whole maenad plot very annoying. I expect Sookie to be a bit naive at this point in the show and Tara to be the smart one but again we’re entitled to make mistakes once in a while.

Also, just because you are completely fucked up and can’t take your own advice doesn’t mean that your advice is wrong. Hell, it’s always much easier to see and say what should be done when it’s not you that has to do it. We are all guilty of that.

I felt sorry for Eggs. Eggs was a pawn for Maryann dirty killing. Eggs did not know that he was killing people.

Bill has killed people for sport and Sookie knows nothing about him. Bill is Sookie’s first relationship.

My problem wasn’t with Tara’s relationship with Eggs, it was her trusting maryann and not question Maryann. She had moments where she did but then she just ignored it completely. Kinda makes it worse that there were times she felt something was wrong but went on like nothing.

I felt bad for Eggs too, especially at the end when he knew he did bad things but didn’t know what. Even when Sookie and Andy told him that it wasn’t him, he was under Maryann’s influence and he shouldn’t feel responsible, shows he was a good enough guy that it didn’t matter to him. He still felt horrible about what he did, his story was pretty tragic. Sadly, he couldn’t live with what he did and the end result was he didn’t have to, sadly.

Tara let Maryann destroy Sookie’s home and did not call Sookie if she invite Maryannd to live with them.

Yeah even when she found out about Jessica and Uncle Bartlett, as soon as Bill says “I love you” all is forgiven and she gets taken in by the moment. Which i admit, is somewhat understandable since she has no experience with men and it must have been a big thrill. But you are right, after that its no more questioning Bill at all. She is so caught up in this fantasy of protector, companion, and good sex that she doesnt think about anything at all. I personally would never agree to hop on a plane with someone the next weekend with no engagement period, and someone you have only known 6-7 weeks! I mean, how much can you learn about someone that fast? You would think Sookie would have seen enough bad relationships working at Merlottes and being telepath to know that you dont marry someone you barely know.

The trouble is that they’re BOTH to busy throwing stones at eachother to recognize that they’re sitting in their own little glass palaces. If they’d stop projecting their faults on one another and actually take the time to look at themselves and their OWN situations, neither one of them would be stuck in such bad situations.

The sermonizing and defensiveness on both of ends is beyond ironic. But it sets the stage for an awesome catfight in the season premiere!

I find the time line for these minisodes odd. The first one with Eric and Pam is supposed to take to take place when? The second with Jessica is supposed to be the same night Bill has taken Sookie to the restaurant for the SFP, and now we have Sookie before she goes out with Bill. Then these are shown after the last 6 episodes.
How is this relating to the episodes, I thought that was supposed to be the point of these minisodes. In my country they haven’t even shown them yet. I’m confused, not unusual for me, but still…..the chronology is odd.

They are definitely leaving it up to us to piece together a timeline and the minisodes are jumping all over the place. I think the one with Pam and Eric takes place the night of the kidnapping, for sure, giving Eric an alibi. This latest one takes place after Sook comes back from the parking lot. And WHY isn’t she more upset at what just took place with Eggs? I have no idea.

(actually, I’m thinking the one with Bill, in his robe with the lady? I think that one takes place some time during season 1. Don’t know why, something about Bill’s hair style looking like an earlier incarnation of his ‘persona’)

      • May 11, 2010 at 8:07 pm

Right Sunny, why isn’t Sookie more upset? She has just learned that Eggs was responsible for several murders, even though he was influenced by MA. And she is just la de da about going out to dinner. Not even a heads up to Tara. Sucks.

Sookie can be a difficult character to like in this show sometimes. And honestly, Tara probably shouldn’t be picking a fight with Sookie after she 1)just destroyed her house, 2) tricked Lettie Mae into holding Sookie at gunpoint while she stole her car, and 3) spewed all kinds of vitrol right in her face in a gross display of panic and neediness.

They’re both being ridiculously stupid and catty in this minisode. And somehow, I think that was the point.

exactly!!! they both criticize eachother for exactly the same thing they’re doing. Good point about Tara, she shouldn’t be so critical considering her own naive actions just destroyed Sookie’s house. Again, I love that Tara is making Sookie question things but her attitude just doesn’t fit with everything that just happened, almost like Tara just forgot the whole ordeal. Tara herself didn’t question where Maryann gets all her money, didn’t question why this complete stranger did so much for her, didn’t question her blackouts even more, and even ignored Eggs distraught behavior. She just wanted him to forget about it and move on, but it was obvious he was not going to do this, maybe she should’ve tried to help out with that a bit more. After Tara’s actions in S2, it’s hard to say that Tara is the smart one and questions things, maybe S1.

She also still doesn’t learn. She will have another stranger help her out and lets him into Sookie’s house. Tara needs to get her own place seriously lol. I know it’s so stupid but at end of S2 I hated all the scenes in Sookie’s house, it would annoy me to see how trashed her home was lol.

See now, that’s EXACTLY the problem. If Tara came out and said to Sookie: “Believe me, I know ALL ABOUT what can happen when you don’t ask questions… just look how bad I fucked up!” the conversation would have gone very differently.

But instead of owning up to her mistake, it looks like she’d rather just focus on Sookie’s, in order to distract herself from her own failures. Tsk tsk.

              They’re both ridiculous. Sigh.

But realistic, no? Both young, hotheaded know-it-alls who haven’t seen enough of the world to know which side is up. It wouldn’t be very believable if they had a calm, rational disussion on a topic like this, especially since it concerns both their lovers. Women that young are almost like toddlers (LOL. I’ve been there and have a daughter only slightly younger than these two and I see it every damn day!)in that they are still too emotionally immature to see things as they are from someone else’s perspective.

Sookie was not worry about Sam when she heard the town was after him. Sookie did not contact Sam and check if he was alright. Jason cared about Bon Temp but Sookie care only Tara and killing Maryann. Sookie wanted to contact Eric but Bill would not let her after he tried to drink Maryann blood. Bill demand Sookie’s arm so he can drink and when Sookie arrive she had bandage on her hand.

They all seem to be taking place on the night of the kidnapping so far. But it looks like we’ll get a minisode with Sam beating the hell out of the bull mask, which might take place on the night of the Maraynn showdown instead. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

Anyway, there are supposed to be six of these, right? We’ve got three so far– of the remainder, one will feature Bill, and one will feature Sam, both of which we saw teased in the promo.

What do we think the final one will be about????

I think they all are taking place that last day of S2, at least so far what it seems like. Which blows alot of theories about Bill’s minisode if this is true. If they all will take place around same time then I’m thinking so will Bill’s, and I can guess who that lady is ugh. But then again, I doubt they would give away some big secret or something so important to the story in a minisode. Not all viewers will watch the minisode so in a way it’s good because you wouldn’t want them to miss something so important to the story. They are just filling in what we didn’t see, i think the purpose is just to give us something to keep us occupied with until the new season. We see what happened right before Jessica met the truck driver and how she even met him. We saw what happened after Sookie got the dress and went into Merlotte’s. Eric and Pam, think just shows us what they were doing that night.

About Bill’s minisode… It was about that woman going to his home, wasn’t it? As we are seeing, it has to be that night of the date, will he was getting ready (that would be why he was in HIS robe… oh… he really miss his life with Lorena). I think, then, that woman has to be realated with the date, so she must be delivering the rin… A mesenger from the queen? Obviously they wouldn’t say, but they would leave some suspicious chat, but I think it’s the ring… As far as we have being shown, the minisodes talk about all fans have being questioning what had happen, and for Bill, it was the ring.

I’m pretty certain of it, myself. But the fact that he’s in the same robe from the Chicago flashbacks indicates to me that there may be something brewing between the lines there.

Right now, I’m leaning away from Bill’s mini having anything to do with the ring. Didn’t he seem a little surprised to see the lady? Wouldn’t he be expecting the delivery of the ring?

I think she’s some sort of official. Maybe with Renard Parish or possibly the State of Louisiana. She might be the investigator in charge of handling claims by vampires of ‘right of return’ to ancestral properties. Surely in this climate, with vampires out of the closet and demanding their civil rights, such a functionary would have to exist?

She would naturally have to interview Bill and establish that he is indeed Bill Compton and that he is indeed the only surviving relative and thus entitled to the Compton property. (going by the contents of the pending legislation on this matter) She would want his family history and lineage and the names of descendants like children and grandchildren because relatives would have to be sought out before a claim like this would be approved.

This would make her dangerous to Bill on a number of levels. 1), she could uncover some serious inconsitencies in the death of Caroline and maybe the children. 2)She might connect him to the person (“cousin”? “gaurdian”?) who inhertied the property after Caroline’s death. 3) She could in fact locate relatives who have a prior claim on the property, leaving Bill out in the graveyard. 4) She could in fact discover that “Bill Compton” is not William Compton at all.

So I say he’s gonna kill her. That’s always his first reaction to threats and I’d bet money his will be the last one we see right before the premiere.

From the second I saw that snippet I felt he was going to kill this woman…hence the robe.

I have NFI who she is but if she has an engagement ring she had better be coming from the Queen.

If this woman turns out to have the ring and is nothing more than an innocuous shop assistant I will be convinced these minisodes are nothing more than a piecemeal effort to fix up some completely fucked up writing that is now causing them problems.

I thought the woman might be revealing something about Bill’s family history in his miniep. She looks like the administrative type. And didn’t I read somewhere that Andy finds out he’s related to someone this year and is surprised at who it is? They could be giving a little preview of that storyline but still have it play out in the show when Andy finds out.

I noticed the red robe and thought she’s not coming outta there alive too. Also re-watched the clip just now and he looks down at something she’s showing him and looks either puzzled and/or annoyed so I don’t think it’s a ring (unless maybe he just doesn’t like it :)).

Eric appearing in Sam’s miniep would be great since it looks like Sam’s is just him destroying Maryann’s mask. I’m all for getting out your aggression but really what’s the point they’re making with that? She’s dead now, I’m over her. And it certainly doesn’t seem relevant to this season at all.

Don’t feel bad, VL. I’m hoping for the same thing, and am similarly hoping that even if Eric DIDN’T help as much as I would have liked, we at least see a phone call from him in Sam’s minisode.

But I’m not counting on it. I was also hoping we’d get a minisode to explain Eric’s haircut… but that obviously didn’t happen, unless Yvetta holds hairdressing among her many talents. 😦

I’m not counting on it either.

Ball said Eric had a reason for not helping kill MA….That reason was shown in his minisode.

I would be very surprised now if we see otherwise.

Well, Fangtasia was already in full swing when Eric went off to see the Queen– and it was clearly BEFORE normal business hours when they were auditioning strippers. (No customers were there, and I doubt they’d schedule that type of business AFTER closing time, which would presumably be around 2 a.m. or later.)

So… I’m pretty sure that the Yvetta encounter took place on the night of the kidnapping, and that Eric’s minisode subtly serves as his alibi. I predict that Sookie will storm into Fangtasia demanding to know where Eric is hiding Bill, only to find him screwing Yvetta. AWKWARD!

But that still leaves his whereabouts on the previous night in question. People have speculated that he just stayed away at Sophie-Anne’s behest. But I don’t know why Ball would have suggested that we’d learn where he was, if it was supposed to be obvious that he just spent the evening playing Yahtzee with the Queen.

Oh, I just had a totally wacky thought…

In Bill’s note to Sookie that came with the dress, he writes “I would very much like for you to wear this tonight.” Now this sounded familiar to me– and I just realized that it’s because it brings to mind what I think was one of the funniest lines of the season: “I would very much like to borrow your stake.”

Ummm, what if ERIC made all the arrangements for Bill and Sookie’s date night– and THAT’S where he was during the showdown with Maryann? And what if the woman coming to Bill’s house in the minisode is to inform HIM of the plan for the date, which is already in place– and that’s why he seems caught off guard?

The main problem with this scenario is that it would pretty much require Sophie-Anne to have shared the nature of Bill’s mission with Eric. Unless it’s the case that she just told him to do something, and he had to do it, no questions asked. Also, if Eric had been enlisted to send the dress, I would have expected a subtle hint on the part of the writers– namely, that said dress would have been RED.

On the other hand, this theory would better explain why Sophie-Anne appears to show up at Fangtasia the night of the kidnapping– she may NOT know that Bill has disappeared, but simply be checking in to make sure that Eric made the arrangements that she requested.

I’ll add to this by saying that when the delivery girl waltzed in to Merlotte’s with a box looking for Sookie, I (and probably EVERY book reader watching the show) got butterflies assuming that it was from Eric. Because that’s the type of thing he does on NUMEROUS occasions in the books. And when it was revealed to have come from Bill, I felt violated. LOL.

Anyway, just a crazy theory. Feel free to flame it!

MAS, When Eric said that about the stake, he was commanding, glarmoring… It’s being discussed before and I do think we are shown that same writting from Bill to learn that he is commanding her, even if he can’t actually glamour her.
Eric would never do that to Bill.

Or, she may indeed be a surprise to Bill. He did plan a fancy dinner for Sookie, but had no intention of proposing to her! However, after QSA met will Eric, she determined she needed to increase the connection between Bill and Sookie…what better than a marriage. So, Bill gets a surprise visit and a ring and set of plane tix.

I hope not. We dont need to see him getting the ring if there is nothing else behind it, like getting it from the Queen. The fangtasia minisode establishes Erics alibi during the kidnapping, the Jessica episode gives insight into the trucker incident, and the last one makes us realize how stupid Sookie and Tara are. So i dont get why they would show Bill getting the ring if there wasnt another reason behind it. I mean, why would we need to know where he got it unless it was something more sinister? The look on his face made it seem like it wasnt something with his family. He looked almost menacing.

I can vaguely make out some lyrics, like 3 lines, but can’t find it in a lyric search. It sounds like maybe Faith Hill or someone really close??? Could be it’s not been released yet and the show is promoting it. The lines I can make out are: “These walls support(?) us but feel broken today” / “The silence between is is louder than words” / “These walls that I’ve built can’t crumble like this.” This isn’t exact of course, it’s really hard to hear. Seems relevant to me though. 😉 Songs on this show seem to be very carefully chosen, no doubt this one will be the same. Wish I could help more, maybe someone else can run with it, I’d love to read the full lyrics. If they were choosing a current country song I wish they’d chosen ‘White Liar,’ now that would fit! 🙂

Yes, I made the connection between the similar phrases in my ‘amateur handwriting analysis’ post.

I just doubt Eric would have been let in on it. Bill’s jealousy wouldn’t allow for it, and SA wouldn’t have a reason to get him involved at all.

The connection I made was to the glamouring itself. Almost like BILL was using a glamouring phrase to influence Sookie. If you’ll notice, the whole note was something like a ‘command’ performance. He doesn’t ask her out or that she wear the dress, not once. The whole thing is rather inperious and presumptious.

I don’t know, Sunny. I’m really starting to think that the note may have been dictated, if not actually written, by Eric himself.

But the question would be: How much does he know about why he would be asked to do this, if anything?

Of course, I could be totally wrong. In which case, the whole discussion is moot.

That, I don’t know. Aside from the fact that– given Eric’s proximity in Shreveport, and the fact that Bill was obviously indisposed– it would make practical sense to have him take care of it.

But you’re right that it would potentially compromise secrecy, and raises major questions as to whether or not Eric was let in on the mission. Unless it’s simply a case of Sophie-Anne telling Eric: “You’ll do what I say, and you won’t ask why.”

I think she wouldn’t want to give him a heads up on their plans. She already sees him as a danger to B/S relationship and thus her ‘mission’. If Eric knew in advance Bill was about to propose it would give him the opportunity to interfere. which then leads to the inevitable question: ‘did he kidnap Bill?’

I can actually see this being the case because it would serve several purposes for her. 1. It would notify Eric that Sookie is off limits and 2. If SA arranged it, it is entirely possible that Bill is not aware until he receives his orders that he is to be married to a human. It may make the whole disappearance/kidnap a bit more sketchy if we find out that ol’ Bill was actually being coerced into a marriage to secure an asset for the Queen. I would guess, though, that Eric was NOT privy to the ring/airline tix because that would be too much info for him to have about QSAs plans.

Well, if she also enlisted Eric to procure the ring and airline tickets, it would certainly be sending a clear message– namely, that Bill Compton is marrying Sookie Stackhouse and you are NOT to interfere with this plan.

She knows Eric has been trying to cockblock Bill. She overheard their conversation. Forcing him to assist in the proposal would nip that behavior in the bud FAST. And it takes Eric down a notch in the process, too.

That’s because it was puposefully made to look as though he sent it. Bill would have been informed of this, either beforehand… or I think, after.

If any of us are right about this theory– whether it was Sophie-Anne or Eric that picked out and bought the dress– I think we’re definitely going to find out about it in Bill’s minisode. If we’re right, I think that short will show Bill finding out about his scheduled date the night of, and being informed of his orders.

Maybe not though. Maybe that lady is just showing up at Bill’s house to deliver the engagement ring that Bill ordered the first night he met Sookie and fell madly in love with her. *eyeroll*

I am absolutely 100% certain that Eric most certainly DID NOT send that dress nor did he have anything to do with it being delivered nor does he even know that Sookie is engaged until she walks through the doors of Fangtasia in S3 Ep1. There is no way Jose! That would completely destroy the image they are trying to set up for him in S3. I agree with Gigi, this would completely undermine Eric’s character. I am 100% certain that he was not aware of anything that is going on. QSA even tried to downplay Bill going to her for help in the first place and the “help” that she gave him. Exactly but the point is that she did try. Even at the end by warning him to stay away. No way is she going to have him get involved in any way, shape, or form. She basically told him “stick to what you’re good at” which basically tells him: go play sheriff and mind your business.

                      {Eric wouldn’t look like a villain in this unless he had full knowledge of the Queen’s plan AND kept it a secret from Sookie.}

Yes, he absolutely would look like a villian because him having that dress delivered would be absolute confirmation that Bill is there to secure Sookie for the Queen and he would have to tell her immediately.

Yes and then Sookie would abjure BOTH Bill AND Eric. There’s no way it would go down like that because then we would completely lose any potential for E/S – not even as friends let alone love. She wouldn’t forgive Eric because he would be just as complicit as Bill and she would never trust Eric again. I just can’t believe they would do this given all we have seen of Eric’s character in mid-end of S2. QSA does not trust Eric at all – if she had she would have let him know what was going on with Bill and Sookie immediately and she didn’t. She tried to keep him in the dark. Why? Because she knows that Eric would find a way to undermine her and Bill’s mission. We all know that Eric is cunning – QSA knows this better than anyone.

I don’t think either of those options are inappropriate implications in this context. Eric is already being portrayed as a powerless stooge under Sophie-Anne’s thumb, with regard to both the V-selling and her threat to wear his fangs as earrings if he steps out of line.

Also, making it tacitly– if not explicitly– clear that SHE is the one encouraging Bill and Sookie’s relationship serves the purpose of effectively backing him down. It sends the message that, if he fucks with Bill’s relationship, he’s fucking with HER. And that is a patently unwise idea.

Really, warning Eric to stay away from Sookie after revealing that she heard his little chat with Bill waves a big enough red flag already. If she’s actually trying to keep the whole thing a secret at this point, she’s not doing a very good job of it.

But whatever. This theory is probably totally wrong anyway. LOL. If it isn’t, however, I don’t necessarily think that would make Eric the Queen’s KNOWING accomplice. I think she’d assign him a task and tell him that she doesn’t have to explain DICK because she’s the Queen. Eric wouldn’t look like a villain in this unless he had full knowledge of the Queen’s plan AND kept it a secret from Sookie.

If this happened, Gigi, I too would break my television. LOL.

Am I a total douche if I say I don’t think Eric had anything to do with it and sometimes I just let my mind wander down unlikely paths and suggest/feed into storylines I don’t actually believe? You are all right…Eric would lose all credibility if he were in any way involved with either the date or the proposal. I do still hold some hope that the old woman is bringing news of his “date” to Bill and that he is being coerced into the proposal (and I will even buy Sunny’s spellbound ring theory to add a bit of frosting to that cupcake!).

Not necessarily, it all depends on his motives. If he’s going along with it in order to entrap drainers and buyers then he’s doing his job. (I’m sure that is how it was presented to him by the queen anyway) I think I’ve already proven that Eric is letting Lafayette keep the profits so the money motive is out, which will accord him a strong defense if he’s dragged before the Magister.

Bill being coerced into the proposal is interesting. I need to watch his reaction again when she said no but didn’t he look more heartbroken than anxious? I thought maybe he was rushing into the proposal after his visit to the Queen in a bid to keep Sookie tied to him. I mean SA did imply right at the end she still wanted Sookie (“looking forward to meeting her”) that was definitely a tactit threat and Bill knew it.

This does beg the question of how he organiZed it so quickly though. I assumed some strategically placed phone calls/day person, although the guy couldn’t even hire himself an electrician in the past so who knows!

I must watch the proposal clip and check if Bill looks coerced. 🙂

Yes, that’s the problem! SOMEONE had to do all this for him. It’s the only rational explanation. And you just know the Queen was behind it SOMEHOW, as a way of gaining a little extra insurance on Sookie.

She couldn’t afford to have the two break up, and surmised from Bill’s confontation with Eric that the relationship might be compromised. So it makes perfect sense that she decided that very night that drastic measures needed to be taken in order to shore up Bill and Sookie’s romance.

I’m almost completely convinced that QSA orchestrated the proposal at this point. The question is whether she demanded Eric’s assistance– and really, I only even threw that out there because there were a couple of random indications that it was possible. And because AB has said that there is a reason Eric wasn’t around Bon Temps in the final episode, and that we will learn what that reason is.

Do I WANT Eric to have been involved in the proposal? HELL NO. But I’d almost rather that, than to get no explanation whatsoever for his very conspicuous absence from that clusterfuck of a finale. LOL.

I would prefer no explanation whatsoever and just add it to the ever growing list of unexplained cock ups.

The idea of him being involved in QSA’s deception in any way whatsoever makes me stabby. VERY STABBY LOL.

                      No. No. NO.

I frankly do not think he was coerced into proposing.

I think it was presented to him by the queen as a necessary evil to thwart Eric’s designs on Sookie, but Bill would readily agree to the proposal as an opportunity to not only thwart Eric for his own jealous reason but also to possibly wrap Sookie up for himself and avoid turning her over to SA. He has no idea how a human marriage might keep Sookie from the queen (and it wouldn’t) but he thinks he’s so clever and smart that he can maneuver the situation (marriage) to his advantage.

Sophie-Anne doesn’t care that Bill is sexually monogamous with Sookie. He would have to be in order to keep the wool pulled over Sookie’s eyes. SA said that to Eric in order to see what he had to say about it, because she DOES care if Bill is in love with her and Eric would know since he’s spent time with them in Dallas.

In SA’s eyes, Bill wanting to possess Sookie for himself only complicates the matter because Bill wouldn’t have the balls to disobey her. So this marriage, from SA’s pov, is all about thwarting Eric. (because she knows Sookie is old-fashioned and wouldn’t cheat) There is just no other way to explain the dress, ring, tickets, except that the queen did all of it with the help of an army of minions, including humans who can operate in daytime.

Basically, the timeline of the mission was sped up considerably because of SA’s fear of Eric. Bill may not have the balls to defy her but Eric does.

LLE, it doesn’t matter if it is recognized by the state of louisiana. As long as Sookie believes herself to be legally wed, no other vamp (or supe) is gonna get into her panties or form a wedge between her and QSAs plans. A marriage would very effectively KEEP Eric away from her.

Actually, I wondering if Eric may have made ALL of the arrangements, under orders from Sophie-Anne. And that’s why he wasn’t at the showdown with Maryann.

When the delivery girl showed up with the box, my first thought is that it would be from Eric, because he sends Sookie so many presents in the books. But even though the note was signed as being from Bill, maybe that was a connection we were SUPPOSED to make.

Of course she did a poor job of it but still, she tried. lol She even made fun of Bill for being “monogamous with his human”. The kidnapping taking place during the date made me think someone somewhere had inside knowledge. Although it could just be a choice by the writers to make it more cinematic. Most likely a combination of both.

I am pretty sure Eric is not involved. It would implicate him in SA’s plans and he seemed like he had no idea what was going on but was suspicious. He knows SA is up to something with Bill and wants to know what it is and I think we’ll see him finding out soon.

I assume Eric was detained by the ‘Yahtzee bitch’ but he could have been elsewhere, we don’t know this yet, or he could have been doing some digging at the Queen’s. I don’t think SA would purposefully bring him in on her plans though. That seems like a wasted dramatic opportunity to me.

Great point. I totally overlooked that. I’ve always thought Russell/Lorena are ultimately behind it, like in the books, but I didn’t think of her being able to track him. Would she be able to do that from so far away though? Eric had to contact her to tell her where Bill was before. Although Eric’s contacting her could just have been to get her involved (make her jealous by dangling the fact that Bill has a ‘human’ now). She could very well have known where Bill was all along.

Plus I’m sure Lorena would very much like to interrupt the proposal. Would add an additional layer.

I don’t think QSA would ask Eric to help Bill propose to Sookie. For one thing he would wonder why the queen even cares to do such a thing. She acted disgusted at the fact that Bill was monogamous with Sookie so I doubt she would turn around and say, Bill needs help to propose to Sookie, I will provide the help but I need your assistance Eric. Eric knows the queen well and would wonder why she would even care to do such a thing and he would connect the dots right there. He would know the queen would be interested in a telepath. He would also wonder how the queen knew other things about her and pick up on the smaller things like her giving Hadley that look to shut up.

This miniep actually WAS the most interesting for me so far, in terms of character psychology and possible progression. I already knew what it alludes to in story terms (thank you spoilers) but thought the clip revealed a lot about how the dynamic between Tara and Sookie could play out. Seems to me like they’re going to fall out and butt heads for a while. They’re both so stubborn and Tara probably won’t be that sympathetic about Bill being missing (having just lost Eggs and not rating vamps at all) and I’m no doubt Sookie will think Tara a hypocrite when she starts seeing Mott.

I think as the season progresses though they’ll find common ground again, maybe by getting involved in the action in Mississippi together but definitely through both getting hurt emotionally. Mutual heartbreak tends to bond people sadly.

Since yesterday I’ve been thinking about Tara’s storyline this season. At first I was in two minds about it. Franklin Mott in the books seemed a no-goer to me, I think CH realized this and that’s why she replaced him with Mickey. I’m glad they seem to be merging the two characters in the show, seems smart to me.

Looks like he’ll have more of an element of control over Tara in TB than he did in the books. In the books he basically bought her off (would make her seem like a hooker on the show…not so good). In TB looks like he’ll ‘win’ her over by saving her and then being there for her when she’s vulnerable but I think he may also use glamour or feeding from her to make her do things(going by RW’s recent interviews and the teaser).

At first I thought this could get repetitive. If she goes and gets herself another man who is controlling and treats her bad then the audience could be thinking does she ever learn. But then I thought about it and realized this is realistic. Sadly this is a pattern that many women get in to, especially when they’ve been damaged, abused and had their self-confidence stripped away like Tara.

Eggs was an archetype for the ‘passively’ controlling man in a way. He was not consciously controlling or hurting her (it was Maryann’s influence). What happens with Franklin will be all him though. He may be sexy and charming but he’ll very likely be purposefully controlling and mean too. So there is progression there, like an out of the frying pan into the fire kinda thing.

The Tara/Mott storyline could draw parallels with domestic violence in a way, and I think for this type of prime time show to do that, is brave and also necessary.

People can be dismissive of ‘urban fantasy’ as a whole and I know some people (who’ve never even watched the show) who dismiss it as a ‘vampire show’ and think oh it’s just silly not gritty or real. I really think that’s rubbish. TB deals with some really hefty issues underneath the entertainment and eye candy (which is also good ;)).

So, yeah, I’m actually looking forward to seeing how Tara’s storyline will play out and am hoping they do it well and do it justice.

Yeah but you have to think of it from the perspective of Bill and the queen. Even more reason now to get sookies mind off of Eric. Marriage is bigger than lust so her focus has to go elsewhere. Again, these are things we know and how we look at it. Bill knows Sookie is going to feel sexually attracted to Eric, the queen probably noticed Eric’s interest. Remember what Bill said when they first went to Fangtasia “oh you noticed him, it’s ok everybody does” he even told Eric that he can have anybody else, why sookie. So Eric has a reputation that im sure even the queen is worried about.

Casting calls would indicate that Bill is taken to one place and then he ends up at Russell’s. I assumed Russell just hired the Weres but there could be two separate groups involved.

I think Eric would be too obvious. The “I’ll take care of Bill Compton personally” seemed a red herring and he could easily have dealt with Bill as his boss. Also he kidnapped Laffy last season and I’m pretty sure they’re not going to end another season with him kidnapping someone, Clearly the teasers show he has nothing to so with the Weres…despite deluded theories on other sites. 😉

So if there are two groups involved then who and why I’m not sure. Maybe Russell/Lorena vs Sophie-Ann? I dunno.

I think the ‘someplace else’ Bill is taken first is just a daytime resting place on the way to Russell’s. Most likely the old lady with the walker, Olivia? Possibly he escapes from there, is recaptured, and then they resume the journey to Jackson.

Ok, I’m recanting. I don’t want Eric anywhere near Bill’s stink, even if it is unbeknownst to him. And operating on the assumption that Bill panicked after his conversation with Eric, and that he didn’t rush the proposal on QSA’s orders, cause Bill’s fuckupery should be his own, how did he maneuver all this crap in one day?

Bill can make travel arrangements, but he can’t use a computer to do so.
Bill can’t arrange an electrician, but he can arrange an engagement ring.
Bill could barely go shopping for Jessica, but he can find the ‘perfect’ dress for Sookie.

Enter the all purpose toadie, Portia Bellefleur. Maybe she is a travel agent, thats how they met when he was making the Dallas travel arrangements and they became friendly. Then because he can, Bill glamoured her a tiny bit so that she would help him out with the ring and the dress and the restaurant. (Plausibly, he called her on her work phone and left a message). And why he is surprised she’s at the door? Maybe she is just early. Can it really be that simple?

I’m still thinking that woman might be Portia. In the books her description says she has as medium height, blocky build, determined mouth and jaw; and that her “professional uniform” as a lawyer is a skirt, blouse, jacket, hose, and low-heeled pumps. Also, in LDID, she went to Bill after he returned from Dallas. She said to him she read about what happened there, and because he was the only vampire in BT, she wanted to ask him if he knew someone who was involved in the house shooting there. As far as I remember, she said that the arms used to attack them there were bought in a place in Bon Temps, blah bla…
