3.02 “Beautifully Broken” Preview

Tara reverts to her former piss-tank alcoholic self, and Eric tells Sookie that he really couldn’t give a rats ass about what happens to Bill (and as usual Eric is one step ahead of the game. We all checked out of caring about what happens to Bill a WHOLE FUCKING SEASON AGO).

Sookie finally stops flapping her gums and starts using her brain, and OH HAI Franklin Mott – bringer of creepy sex and Bill Compton’s dirty secrets.

True Blood, Season 3 – Welcome to the Twilight Zone.

    I can’t wait. I’m going to rewatch ep 1 a few times b4 next week I think!!

Hell yeah!!! And what woman with the dark hair was being pinned to a wall with a rake/tool? It looked to me as if she was naked, could this be from a flashback? There is supposed to be a flashback scene in next episode from Eric and/or Bill.

Have to say I didn’t see Jason being jealous of Andy’s false glory about shooting Eggs, that could get interesting!

      June 14, 2010 at 4:03 pm

better Andy receive false glory than I (Jason) be faced with a manslaughter charge…oh when will that Stackhouse boy learn it isn’t all about him…

Jason is using his head, as his sister asked (he began sooner, though) and as Eric asked too. He feels crap for the killing (he is not book Jason), he felt like that when he thought he had killed Maudette, and then Amy. Good for him that he has some good time with Crystal to forget, because he could end up killing himself.

I just know that Jason and Andy’s Keystone Cops act this season is going to provide tons of laughs.

      • June 20, 2010 at 12:01 pm

i think that Jason and Andy are the second best ‘Pair’ we have on this show (Pam and Eric is the first). These two guys together just bring some fun and games to the show and i can’t wait to see what else is to come

I’m so excited for ep 2, it’s supposed to be amazing. I MUST NOW SPOIL MYSELF, since I felt like I already knew most of ep 1, some of the excitement was gone. I know there’s a flashback, but I hope I don’t get the details. I should just not read SVB for a week. Possible?

    Didn’t think so.

Can we PLEASE get rid off ERW???? Her acting is horrible, she is not coming across as crazy, looney, desperate or even a vamp she is just exhibits BAD acting. And while I’m at it Tara go with her Rutina’s acting is just as bad!!!!!

I thought Evan was way better last night. The theatricality suits this version of the queen, which is NOT like the book.

I have to say that when she jumped on Eric, it scared me because of how it came out of nowhere and that sound she made lol. Even my puppy jumped when he heard it lol.

Also, if she is in that birdcage just because she wants to be then she really is off the wall crazy. Have to see though, but that would be such an odd punishment haha.

            June 14, 2010 at 10:08 pm

QSA attacking Eric like that has been part of the promos for awhile now so I knew it was coming. That said, I still jumped like a frightened child when it happened both on my first and second viewings! I totally get why Eric would be frightened by TB’s version of QSA. Someone like Eric would be terrified if their life was in the hands of someone whose next move could not be predicted. Hell, I believe at this point that even Sophie Ann doesn’t know what her next move will be.

I am so intrigued as to why she is in that cage. If it is Russell’s doing, I could see him finding the humor in literally locking her in a “gilded cage”.

            • June 14, 2010 at 10:53 pm

SA is unpredictable at all, but I wouldn’t say Eric is scared by her. He’s scared of the position she put him, but not of her. I’m glad he reacted growling at her this time. They looked just like two lions roaring at each other and then suddenly going back to calm. I think it’s only Eric’s sense of duty and respect for authority that prevents him from staking the Queen.

                {I think it’s only Eric’s sense of duty and respect for authority that prevents him from staking the Queen.}

I agree Hime. Well, you guys all know how I feel about the Queen. I HATE HER! But it’s not the actress or the way the character is portrayed – I hate the actual character itself because she’s crazy, she’s trying to mess with Eric (and could get him killed), is forcing him to do something he doesn’t want to do, AND IS ALWAYS GRABBING AT HIM. However, I must say that I really liked their interaction last night – a lot. I’m so worried about Eric. Honestly, I wanted to hug him after Pam left him down in the DOD and he looked so worried and forlorn. Poor Baby. 😦

Poor Baby is right. He looked very upset and vulnerable. I loved that scene. I was not disappointed with Erics screen time in episode 1 at all. He had as much as Bill.

They truly looked like two lions. Was I the only one finding the gnarling (mainly from Eric) very hot? I * DIED *. :/ And then the grunting Eric did at the Queen. Whoa.
My sexuality is probably very primal and weird..

I loved her! I think this version of the queen fits better for TV.

      • June 14, 2010 at 9:17 pm

I loved her, too. She’s NOT bookQSA but something crazier. I loved how she was bullshitting with the Magister and her weird diva style. She’s fun, although she is a fucking bitch. Why don’t you like ERW? I think she’s really capturing the character (again, we must remember that this is not BookQSA)

          June 14, 2010 at 10:06 pm

I know what they are trying to pull off with TB’s SA but ERW is just not up to snuff at doing it. When she does mad SA she is ok, but when she tries to pull off the crazy & aloof SA she fails BIG! Her acting is cringe worthy at those points and she looks like someone pretending to act or on their first gig.

          June 16, 2010 at 5:35 pm

I too love that she is over-theatratical to the max. One insane diva. Also I actually think she and Eric has great chemistry. Hate-sex please? 😉 I just think that would suit their relationship, it’s not a kink for me or anything.. 😀

it’s Off topic and i’m not going to post anything…but i’ve just read Alan Ball saying that True Blood could run as long as the books…some kind of Law&Order….that’s are his words!!!!

      GOD I HOPE NOT.

There’s no way this series could run even half as long without completely jumping the shark.

      June 20, 2010 at 3:33 pm

I think 7 or 8 seasons is totally feasible. It doesnt really matter if they start showing their age a little bit as far as the story line goes, and i think its a better show than sex and the city, although i liked that too. But they all keep in great shape and stuff, so i think it would be okay. Plus SM already looks too old for the age his character is supposed to be (no offense but the dude doesnt look 30, he might be able to pass for 35) so i dont think thats an issue.

I’m not too pleased with ERW. I don’t think she makes The queen compelling enough. I care about most of the characters. I mean I can’t stand Beeeehl for Sookie and I can’t WAIT to see him lose Sookie to Eric but I kind of like him this season so far. He isn’t as much of a pansy as last season. But I digress. I don’t like the queen and it’s not just b/c she is fucking with my man, she is just blah, a non-entity. Boring I guess. Just go away already. Lorena plays crazy 1000% better.

More excited for episode 2 than I was for the premiere lol. We get the scene in Fangtasia where Eric tells Sookie not to underestimate herself. The scenes on the porch and him protecting her at her house, burying the were together. Plus FM the private investigator lol.

Found a review from Edmonton Journal:

      – -Nazi werewolves! No, seriously. There are several flashbacks to the Second World War, when charismatic Nordic vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard, stealing virtually every scene he’s in) is a Nazi officer, fighting the good fight on the side of truth, light and righteous justice.

This is tonight!!!!! Fighting the good fight on the side of truth light and righteous justice.!!!!!!!!

    Carried over from MAS’s S3 E1 thread:

Osterby made an intriguing observation, “Any one care to speculate which Vampire Eddie met at the gay bar? And was then turned by?”

I don’t believe that Eddie’s maker was Bill. Eric Northman questioned Lafayette about Eddie’s disappearance. As a new vampire, it stands to reason that one of the first questions one would face when meeting other vamps (and especially those in authority within your area) is, “So who’s your maker?” 😛

That being said, Eddie’s creator is another example of a craptastic maker . Is he the worst maker ever? Who knows, but he certainly gave Bill Compton some serious competition for the “Deadbeat Dad of The Year Award.” Eddie was held hostage, drained, and staked…and his maker never came to his rescue. All of which leads me to believe that whoever turned him did so as part of a business transaction.

Maybe but also after the show there was a scene where FM shows up and asks Jessica if someone is missing so FM might’ve taken care of it.

Oh man, I squeeed through all of the Eric scenes. They were pure AWESOMENESS!!! There two few of them in this episdoe though. *sigh* However, the episode was VERY good. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. Has everyone watched it? Is it safe to talk about it? 🙂

OMG THANK YOU! I’M FANGIRLING OVER HERE! LOL First of all, my heart broke when Eric saw the ring for the first time. 2) I loved when he told Sookie not to cry because it made him feel disturbingly human. OMG The look on his face!!! DYING! 3) When he goes to protect her and he confesses that he lied to her and then proceeds to tell her EVERYTHING about the wolves and his mission w/Godric. 4) Godric telling Eric that a vampire must rein in his emotions. Guess he learned how to keep his human feelings under wraps due to Godric. 5) Did everyone see the look on Sookie’s face when he was coming on to her!!! And when they were having the talk about how now the wolves were coming after her and the look on his face when he said that?? And then when he told her that he didn’t want to put her in more danger and she showed actual concern for him. There was so much! I loved it!!

Also, RE telling the world (finally!!!!) that Bill works for QSA and that he knew Bill was lying and there was no way he went to BT because he wanted to “mainstream”!!! Gigi was totally right – it WAS Lorena who was on fire.

{And then when he told her that he didn’t want to put her in more danger and she showed actual concern for him.} In danger by telling her anymore details about why it would be more advantageous for him NOT to find Bill. OMG! I loved it!!!

VL, I loved the way that when he got so emotional and started to leave her, the next thing he did was to steer the conversation into “you should invite me in, I could protect you or we could have passionate, primal sex. Or, how about both?”! Think Club Dead, “I don’t like having feelings”!

I have to say I am loving the score that plays during this scene, they are starting to build Eric and Sookie theme music!! I had a feeling it would be violins and cello.. I’m going to watch it like five gazillion times now.

I thought that was theme music I heard! I’ll have to pay attention on rewatch, but my initial impression was that it was much more lovely and subtle than the overly melodramatic B/S theme. Guess I’m a little biased, though. 😀

Yeah, the Bill/Sookie theme is much more schmaltzy. The Eric/Sookie one is more…urgent?

I have to say Cooter looks damn fine. I love how Sookie thought Eric was gonna leave and she stops him. Eric’s face when she cries and when he says his loyalty is to the Queen, not Bill but now that they’re after her OMG best moments.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I thought of Sunny immediately after he said that! Hahahaha! The serial killer was a woman, royalty I believe (can’t remember her exact name), but I watched a doc about her recently. She was like the mother of vampires. lol She believed that bathing in blood would keep her eternally youthful so she would have her servants bring her women who she would kill, drain, then bathe in their blood.

It’s Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Legend has it that she killed hundreds of young women for their blood. I also saw a documentary on her and she was so creepy! I bet MAS will have a lot of fun with that in her recap. I can see why Russell and Talbot love her. I too loved the fact that Talbot put Bill in that room. Hell, I loved all of the reveals about Bill in this episode. Bill is a liar, liar Lorena on fire!

That’s got to be in. When Bill goes for the lamp, RE doesn’t turn his head from Talbot to see what the heck Bill is doing, and then when Lorena bursts into flames they just sit there watching with absolutely blank expressions.

Oh God how I loved this ep and everything about it. RE and Talbot were wonderful, Sookie was wonderful, Tara and Laffy were wonderful, Terry was wonderful, Jason and Andy are the best thing since sliced bread..and Franklin Mott! Boy did he make an auspicious entry. and Eric!!! Omfg. I can’t even process how lovely it was seeing how thoroughly they reversed his and Bill’s roles in this ep and how beautiful and luminous and freaking adorable Eric was while being so fucking sexy he rocked my socks off. Eric fought the farking Nazi’s! By choice! He’s a hero! A tall gorgeous superhero. And he wubs Sookie, awww. He wears his emotions right out on his sleeve despite Godrics best efforts. Just like Hoyt! I loved it.

Ya’ll, I have to tell you this: when Eric told Sookie he wanted to come in and protect her or have primal, passionate sex with her I turned to my husband and practically shouted “a girl would have to be a FOOL not to jump on that”. heehee.

What struck me about the file was the old newspaper clippings. If this was a recently compiled file, with today’s internet resources, there would be no vintage clips. And even if Bill or someone else did head down to the Bon Temps Library or Local Newspaper, it would be copies of the articles in the file, or copies from microfiche – not the orginial. Someone’s been stalking our girl, or the Stackhouse family for a while now.

            It’s SA’s original dossier.

And it obviously goes back way before Hadley. Which begs the question…how did Hadley end up with the Queen? I think her backstory is going to be different to the books – it seems QSA has known about the Stackhouse family for a long time.

Why is Bill so incredibly stupid for keeping this stuff around? What if Sookie ever came snoopy around during the day.. I guess he is trusting in her trusting nature there, but why not put it in a hidden safe? A false bottom? He should be smarter than that, and hello there is Jessica living with you now, Bill. And once he devised his plan to marry Sookie, why didn’t he just burn the stuff?

I think he wanted to be caught, its one of his pangs of conscience manifesting.

Bill has shown from ep 1 s3 that he lacks inteligence. That’s why he was sent by the queen, he is easy to manipulate (letting him think he is so superior, giving what he wants, like a kid) and he won’t know he is being manipulated.

He went to so much trouble with the SFP, getting the ring, renting the restaurant, the tickets,.. desperately trying to get away before Sookie found out about his mission and yet he left a gigantic poop-stain in his drawers. Maybe its simply arrogance.

Maybe difficult for her to understand why he cares so suddenly, but she will come to understand more and more by every episode.
Oh and the speech about the marriage… ‘to have and to hold… blah blah blah… until death do us part, doesn’t it disturb you that you’ll be the only one dying? haha 😉 And the passionate primal sex part… how can you say no???? Or at least she was not unaffected by that hehe 😉

I think this was my favorite moment in the episode, Freyja. The emotions on his face and her reaction to him showing those emotions were very telling. And, I just felt so bad for him when he saw the engagement ring. I think the important things we can take away from this episode is that she can see he wants to be honest with her, wants Sookie to trust him, and a friendship is definitely forming between the two of them. And, for a second time, Eric has expressed that he is interested in her, so she KNOWS.

Well said, Robin. I also love that although he did joke with her about the sex (even though he wasn’t really joking haha) that his emotion both at Fangtasia and on her porch showed her that it’s more than sex AND nothing to do with her telepathy.

Absolutely. Eric attempts to hide any show of sensitivity because he views his emotional vulnerability as a kind of weakness. While this may have something to do with being a vampire, I suspect that it might also be a bit of a holdover from his human life as Viking warrior.

If the show is following the same mythology as the books, Eric knows that only valid form of marriage for vamps is their own ancient ritual. A human marriage certificate is just a worthless bit of paper to them. If this the case, Eric is right to mock the ring because he realizes just what an empty symbol it is for Bill.

As tactless as the joke might have been (“’till death do you part”)…Eric brought up a very valid point: Sookie and Bill haven’t discussed any serious issues (her mortality, the fact that they will not be able to have children, etc.)Saying “I do” and hoping for the best when marrying a virtual stranger is a sure-fire recipe for wedded hell.

I agree 100%! Notice how she deflects his very valid point by saying she didn’t want to talk about it??? He struck a nerve there. Something else too, I think what really bothered Eric in that moment was the fact that to Sookie it means something. When she says “I’m still Bill’s” and he sees the ring, that phrase now had a different meaning because he knows that to Sookie a human marriage is something that would be meaningful and she would be bound to Bill “forever”. I think that’s the part that bothered him.

VL- The humor is his defense mechanism. I could also tell that the ring (and more importantly, its significance to Sookie) was like a wooden stake to his undead heart.

Alexander Skarsgard’s acting was a tour de force as he subtly displayed such a depth and range of emotions. Someone give this man an Emmy!

Also, Godric flat out told him in the flashback that he must dominate his emotions. If Godric, who he idolized, told him that emotions are weakness it makes perfect sense to me that he would internalize it and try to live up to Godric’s standard.

I think they are also setting up Eric’s emotional state for the vengeance storyline. He will likely be full of rage and impulsive. If the flashback is any indication, we will not be seeing a cold and calculating Eric.

I like that Godric was helping him with this mission. Although surely Eric knows by now that Russell is right next door. I wonder if the fact that Russell is the king has kept him from acting? Bill recognized him by sight so it’s not like Russell has been hiding out in Mississippi. The show needs to explain this or it’s going to be one big plot hole.

                  Yes, absolutely!

It seemed as if they didn’t know at the time who the vampire was though. The wolf tells him that it’s a vampire but she doesn’t give them the name. He may not be aware. Or he couldn’t seek vengeance once he found out that it was the King. It would have been a suicide mission and I’m sure Godric would not have let him do this. Especially since he gave him that whole “emotion” speech. I’m definitely sure they are going to explain everything as the season progresses.

Yeah and Godric tells Eric “Patience” then after says something like we’ll get him. I think they knew right away who it was and that it why we saw an emotional Eric and not listening to Godric that the blood is sacred but Eric gave the were his blood anyways to find out the info.

                    June 21, 2010 at 3:43 am

Ah, now that would make sense if Eric only knew all of that time that it was a vampire who controlled the pack and that vampire was responsible for his family’s death and he spent 1,000 years trying to learn the identity of the vamp. Maybe the were gives him the name in the next episode? That would explain it if he doesn’t learn it’s Russell until now. And Russell could very well have no idea that it was Eric’s family that he killed. It would also set up Eric infiltrating Russell’s camp if Russell doesn’t know of the connection.

There were some posters at the IMDB board complaining about the bad writing in having Godric schooling Eric, after 900 years, in controlling his emotions like Eric was a newly-turned vamp. What they are not yet getting is that this is extremely personal for Eric and I’m sure that when he was not on his vengeance mission he managed to be as detached from his emotions as Godric.

Ugh, I swear that there are some people that just love to criticize no matter what. I personally thought the writing was excellent and this episode was fantastic. I agree, for Eric it is VERY personal and therefore he WOULD be emotional about it. Plus, as AS has said, it’s something that Eric has always tried to do – to fight against and surpress his emotions. He’s the opposite of Bill in this respect and I think that’s the point here.

I said it already… In True Blood we will learn that vamps stay with their makers for a very long time, that they don’t go around making children, that they are selective. Maybe they separate from time to time, as teens do, go to camps, study abroad, etc. But they come back. And even when they begin their own children, the family stays together.

I’m sure Lorena and Bill story is a very special one because of the incredible short time they were together, and evenmore, because she released him. I believe that in TB most vamps never released their children (Godric could COMMAND Eric out of the roof), that would be as if your parents kicked you out of home to never return.

And we don’t know yet how old is Pam… Or do we? I remember to have read that she was younger than Bill, but don’t know if she was made before or after WWII. It could be that a child separates for long periods once they procreate. Don’t know, just theory this last part.

                    • June 21, 2010 at 6:14 pm

Pam was made in 1905 or 1906. She made someone when she was a year old, so she may have gone through something similar to what Jessica is.

Yes, I was so wrong about him having spotted the ring in the DOD when he scanned her, though I still don’t know since he saw her the previous night and her hands were on the table and she isn’t trying to hide it from him. So why didn’t he notice that big ring earlier? Or did he, but compartmentalized it so as to deal with it at a better time, maybe not liking how it made him feel? But then it was in his face and he had to respond as they were already in a sexually charged, emotionally tense conversation. It threw him for a minute, that’s for sure.

There were only three ERic scenes but two of them were pretty long, so i think it added up to more than 1st episode, or at least as much. And they were freakin awesome so that made up for it. Eric looks good in uniform let me tell you, even if it is a Nazi uniform. I love how they posed as SS. And i love his conversations with Sookie, way better than i expected, and man the chemistry between them was great. It was so hot.

I also loved that this story is really believable because often series tend to ignore historic facts in a horrible way. I am German and political scientist thus I have some knowledge about the Third Reich. Eric´s attempt to be considered as a SS man is completly believable when you already know that there were a considerable number of Scandinavian Nazi´s who support Hitler´s barbaric regime and who even joined his forces. Thus Eric´s persona and his “nordic” look combined with his (ingredibly sexy^^) accent were unlikely to arouse distrust. Well done, AB..

by the way, did you guys also want to kill Bill, when you so saw Jessica´s pain and trouble? Her whole misery is due to Bill´s bad teaching. And I so hope that he did not manage to kill Lorena, this woman is fascinating!
Our viking was really wunderful today, AS is such a great actor. But I have to admit that during this episode Laf gained a lot of my love. I´m looking forward to more scenes between Eric and Laf that would be utter perfection.

I liked Sookie so much more in this episode. I actually felt for her anxiety and desperation over Bill’s disappearance when it just annoyed me last week. I think one of the main differences, other than being around Eric, was that she actually focused on other characters besides her and Bill. She showed concern about Tara and listened to and focused on Jessica, Jason and Eric during her conversations with each character. I really hope they continue writing her this way. It’s amazing how much more enjoyable both Bill and Sookie are when they are not sharing scenes together.

I loved Sookie in this episode! After the first shock of Bills disapperance she has calmed down, and it’s like Bills influence vaporated into thin air and she was thinking and concerned about others again, even about Eric. Yes, I think she’s starting to understand him – or at least trying. He’s definitely having an effect on her. I loved her reaction to the scene in Fangtasia when he tells her that her life is valuable. I loved that she was effected by it as well. I also loved that she let her guard down with him for the first time and actually spoke to him from her heart and like a human being instead of being hostile. I love her when she’s away from Bill and when she’s with Eric – like in the FOTS and in I Will Rise Up.

I do think that AB is trying to squish far too many separate storylines into a series that is only 12 episodes long. He needs 22 eps to do justice to so many stories. He only has 10 to go and the story hasn’t even really started.

Replying to myself, I have been trying to think of the storylines I could do without. I like Terry so much I don’t want to miss his story with Arlene, and I love Jason and Andy, and we can’t do without Jason because of the Hotshot story and Crystal. I adore Lafayette and Jessica so can’t lose them. I don’t care much for Tara but after tonight I’m interested in Franklin and they seem together, so I have to say I think I could do without Sam’s family story as it seems to be the most boring to me. You just can’t pack 22 eps into 12.

totally agree with you, many characters, stories and a few episodes. The narrative suffers because of it, jumping from one to another. At least I’m not willing to see the main stories being sacrificed. I like Terry, but it is not necessary he and Arlene appear in every episode. And yes the story of Sam does not interest me.

While I do think there are a lot of story lines, never at any point did I think the narrative wasn’t cohesive. I think this is my favorite episode merely because of that, I loved all of it, there wasn’t a single scene I hated, (unlike I Will Rise Up which to me was completely marred by Maryann, grr). At the time when I was first watching it, the Arlene/Terry scene where he starts to list his 10 reasons nearly gave me an aneurysm, get back to Eric Sookie gosh darnit! But it really echoed Eric’s recital of the marriage vows, thinking things through before committing but letting the other person know how you feel.

Sam to me is very meh, but I think his story is going to be an important parallel to Sookie’s family and each one having their own skeletons in the closet, or 2 day old corpses in the hidey-hole. It already reflects Lafayette’s mother, its like how sometimes we wish our family to be different than who they are, and it also relates to the concepts of identity that we have through our family.

Personally, I think they did an outstanding writing job weaving so many things together and I think each storyline serves it purpose for the main story, you know, the Eric and Sookie story, lol. Hopefully by the end of the season it will be more apparent why they have to make Sam so stale and banal.

well, I liked the Sookie most of the episode, which does not happen since the S2 EP9 with scenes with Godric. Alias so happy to see Godric again. In general I liked the episode, although I think that stories suffer with so many characters. everyone has to have their screen time.
as always can not have patience to see the scenes of the Bill, and Sam, for me the story of Sam is the one that bothers me most because I feel they are forcing to fit the main story because it is one of the “main characters”. Part of Jason found it interesting.
But it bothers me that all weres are shown so negatively, I know the books they all have problems, but it seems that here are all fools, criminals or addicts. One thing I always liked the way the weres are portrayed in books, that although they have their problems, are also almost normal with their lives, whatever.

            Hi Freya,

I read the synopsis of the episode on the HBO website and it says that Bill did actually throw an oil lamp on Lorena. Of course in the next episode, they might reveal it to have been an inner fantasy on Bill’s part, but it looks like he might have done it for real. If he did, I’m guessing that Russell will come up with some sort of punishment!

but but but…that would mean we were shown a completely fake scene that never happened except in Bill’s mind. 😀 😉

LOL Yeah, but if that’s the case (that it didn’t happen) they’ll let us know next episode. They prob won’t leave it to our imagination to decipher that.

Yeah but this is different because if he imagined it then the scene will immediately show us that it was just his imagination. It will probably zoom back to Bill at one point who is still sitting at the table and Lorena just standing there. Jason also day dreamed about Sarah.

Oh it’s so hard for me to choose because I loved the Fangtasia scenes as well! That whole “please don’t do that, it makes me feel disurbingly human” also rocked my world. lol And the way he looked at her when she told him that she didn’t want to ask him to risk his life but all she was asking for was just to help if he could. *sigh* Awesome, awesome. 🙂

          June 21, 2010 at 11:42 pm

Yubb those 2 scenes were brilliant, I can’t chose. The ‘don’t underrestimate yourself’, ‘don’t do that, it makes me feel disurbingly human’ and then ‘primal sex/protection’, ‘wedding vows’, ‘I lied to you’, the ‘but’ and ‘but?’, ‘I owe you’…….. Well 😀

    • 245 Freyja
      June 21, 2010 at 8:27 pm

And when Sookie put Eric in his place when he was joking about the wedding vows, said she was not going to talk about this. That awkward smile came and he looked for just a second like a teenage boy trying to act cool for his high school sweetheart hehe 😉

  30. June 21, 2010 at 2:44 am

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with this episode. With all of the spoiler overdose I was afraid I saw too much but… Loved it! The Eric scenes were amazing compared to what we usually get. No denying Sookie matters to him now. His reaction to the crying and when he saw the ring – priceless. And I’m so glad we got a stronger Sookie, it’s about time! (also loved the Sookeh imitation) I was even fully paying attention to Tara’s scenes which were great. I didn’t think I would actually like Franklin Mott but I do – for now anyways. I went in expecting nothing and I got so much. Ok, fangirling over and I am looking forward to watching it again (some things passed by too quickly that I want to get a better look at).

I thought the first scene was cool, Bill ripping the ear off the wolf, good way to begin the episode 🙂 RE and Talbot were fabulous! All the different ways to serve the blood was so funny, souffle and carbonated blood of a guy that ate tangerines for week hahaha 😀

Yep! This was an awesome episode! I loved it all. The Eric and Sookie scenes were incredible they left me giggling like the fangirl I am! I loved when Sookie imitates Bill in that scene. And what about the file!! If anyone finds out what it says please post, ok?

I am happy I didn’t read a bunch of spoilers this time, I enjoyed the episode so much more. I thought Lorena looked good. (I’m actually rooting for her for some reason) what will happen to her with Bill setting her on fire. That’s not cool! Bill is bad. Who cares if he “loves” Sookie, he is a scoundrel.

Ok, i’m so excited by this episode, I can’t wait to read what everyone else has to say. I hope these next 7 days go by fast!

The first paper is a list of names of Sookie family tree hand written, the next is a computer generated family tree with Earl Stackhouse and Sookie Stackhouse circled, and there is some news paper articles, including one about her winning the spelling bee when she was a kid. Then there is pictures, one of her and Jason, one of her at Merlottes, and thats all i could pick up from just watching it.

    • 275 Dee
      June 21, 2010 at 3:17 am

Yeah RE did ask why QSA would send one of her most important vampires to a place like Bon Temps, maybe not word for word like that but very similar. Plus Bill used to live in Mississippi because RE mentioned him being back and now wants to offer him the position of Sheriff.

      • 276 legalease
        June 21, 2010 at 3:20 am

Ah, I didn’t catch him saying that about Bill being back in MS. That explains how Bill recognized him by sight. It also puts Bill’s reaction to Olivia telling him he was in MS last episode in an interesting light.

          June 21, 2010 at 3:30 am

Yup and now really makes sense that he did run there himself not that he was running away, he knew once Olivia said where they were that RE might be involved and he ends up right by the property. From the trailers I always thought something was off and seemed like RE helps Bill out against the were’s and doesn’t seem like he really is kidnapped. He is a “guest” lol and they are treating him well. RE said he can leave after he tells Bill his plans depending on what he wants to do after he hears it.

              June 21, 2010 at 6:13 pm

Yeah, but I interpreted all of that as fancy euphemisms for being a prisoner- silver doors= can’t open them from the inside, someone outside the door= guard. Just cause he’s being held by two gentlemen who care a LOT about the ‘finer things’ doesn’t mean he’s not being held more or less against his will.

Gotta say though, one of my favourite lines out of an ep that was full of great one liners was Talbot going to get the main course and calling out, ‘where is that Thai boy?’

My favorite thing Talbot said was calling Queen Sophie Ann “more mad than a money on a trike” and that she has been for centuries. I was LMAO at that one, and the the conversations during the blood courses. It was great.

My only complaint about this episode is that it feels like they are trying to follow too many plot lines at once right now. There were 7 different plot lines that they were jumping between in this one episode. Personally, I’d rather than give us more depth on fewer stories in each episode rather than try to show us what everyone is doing. I like to get drawn into the story and the amount of jumping around that they had to do to cover all of these in a one hour block makes that impossible for me. I never fully engaged or immersed myself in any story because they were switching up so often.

That aside: Loved the Eric/Sookie scenes and the flashbacks, loved Franklin Mott, and I even liked Billy-boy.

I didn’t like the flipping between the plots too much either, but the thingthat bothered me the most about it was that it seemed out of place with each other: Andy and Jason going to get lunch. then to Jessica renting a chainsaw? Then back to Sam and his bro in daylight? Not sure which one exactly they went between, but it seemed like they were showing some vamp/daylight stuff connecting in time and that just bugged me.

I’d rather they take out Arlenes story, who cares about her when we have all these others! And I really don’t care about Sams story.

      • 290 Millarca
        June 22, 2010 at 5:57 am

I don’t care too much for Arlene, but I am very fond of Terry, and his story about Felix the armadillo, who sleeps under his bed, will remain one of my favourite moments from the show. I would be happy with a bit of Terry in each ep. He adds a dash of Northern Exposure whimsy to the show. Sam’s story’s not important to me but it’s a bit interesting and I’d be happy to see it if there was plenty of time for all these extra bits, but there isn’t, IMO. They drain time away from the main story: Sookie & Eric. 🙂

BTW, something in Tommy Mickens makes me wonder if they will really bring Quinn’s story line into TB. I don’t know… But after I saw his scars of fights, and after I watched him shifting into a PITbull, I actually think that TB used the character Quinn to create Tommy…

    • 292 VikingLover

This is a good point Gigi! It could also lead in to Quinn as well – meaning Tommy could introduce Sam to that world, including Quinn. I’m glad you brought up the scars because for some reason I thought they were from being beaten by his parents but now I see that it’s from fighting for money possibly.

Oh, this is good! I think you are on to something. I think they will tie this into the fighting thing, and maybe this will be how it links back to the vamps and Sookie somewhere in the future.

GIGI: totally agree about the tommy as quinn incarnation. the scratches from fights – the pit fighting for money, yeah, definitely can see the connection. I liked tommy; thought he was cute:)

Cool that we learn how godric trains eric to toughen himself emotionally.

      Loved Russell

I was major spoilt tho – the lines sounded flat to me. But its only because I heard them and read them so many times.

So who do we think that FM is working for? I don’t know if I think he is working for RE or SA after seeing the episode. Cause apparently RE already knows all about Bill and Sookie, and if SA sent him, then she knows about them as well. So why would either of them need FM to snoop Bill’s stuff and find out about Sookie and Bill?

Also, kudos to whoever said previously that they thought RE wants to marry SA. You were right on.

It all happened the same night, so he may have called Russell and told him what he found and that’s why Russell has the information during the dinner party scene. Either that, or Russell may have a spy with QSA who has already told him about the QSA/Bill connection.

          • 300 RubySun
            June 21, 2010 at 5:07 am

Well if RE has the file and he does take Sookie like he threatens, he could use this to bribe Bill into doing what he says. Like they will tell Sookie about the file info, or else.

I guess they could do this even if they don’t take Sookie, they could still use it as a blackmail against Bill? Of course, this is all vague speculating on my part!

Right, Russell is going to try every which way to get that info out of Bill, he’ll use bribery, blackmail, anything. I think Bill is going to refuse to turn on QSA and he is going to be all noble when it comes to Sookie, pardon me while I barf again, blaaaaaaaaghgh, and he won’t rat out that Sookie is a telepath, and this is why Lorena is torturing him in Russell’s DOD.

Eww, I got some on the keyboard.

..and torture. Looks like he’ll give Lorena the honor of performing that task. I am going to enjoy the hell out of those scenes, lol, because I love crazy-beautiful Lorena.

Remember the ep description which says Bill makes a surprising pledge of allegiance? I think RE convinces him through bribery or whatever to throw in his lot with him in exchange for getting out from under QSA and her edict. It will be a calculated decision on Bill’s part because he’ll think this way he can keep Sookie for himself. However, it is clear that Russell doesn’t know yet about Sookie’s telepathy (or else he would KNOW why QSA sent him to BT) and all bets are off when he does find out. RE may force Bill into a similar deal to procure Sookie that he had with the queen. In which case Bill will have walked right into a trap. LOL.

                    • June 21, 2010 at 5:23 pm

It just occurred to me that he so deserves whatever Lorena is going to dish out.

What is more plausible, that SA happened to have a courtier who had lived next door to Sookie, or that Bill, when he was living in BT with Lorena after they disposed of his family realized that something of a supernatural nature was going on next door. Bill kept track of the family, especially Sookie who showed early signs of telepathy, and after the Revelation, he went to the queen with a plan to seduce Sookie and turn her over to SA.

    1. ERIC, ERIC, ERIC!! This espisode ROCKED for him!! You could really see him struggle with his feelings for Sookie and it broke my heart and lit it up all at once (*ehem* although the last bit may be insensitive given what just happened to Lorena lol). I LOVED the flashback with him and Godric, so good to see him fighting on what seems to be the relatively good side for now (although nothing on this show is that black or white and that is what makes it so amazing)… also loved how he reverted to humor when he saw the ring, although he was so obviously disturbed 😦

    2. Tara fully won me back!! The scenes between her and Lafatette were heartwrenching 😦 And I love how she kicked a$$ at rhe end of the episode!! Loved Franklin Mott’s introduction and how they built the foundation for his attraction to Tara AND exposed Billy Boy all in one go (that file totally sold him out!!)

    3. Loved Jason and Andy as always lol, and I was even vaugely intrigued by Sam and his family, although I’m definately not a fan of Tommy after that stunt he pulled *grrr*

    4. Loved Russel and Talbot, although you could definately see the tension between them :/ and all the gourmet “cruelty free” blood was priceless!! Although I’ll definately have to see their parts again because I feel like I missed some of it because my mother has wonderful timing lol… oh, and Lorena was as beautiful as always, although she’s certainly not a charactr that I root for, I find her deliciously evil, charming, and I just love looking at her and getting make-up ideas off of her lool

Oh, but I had a clarification question maybe one of you guys can tell me if I;ve got this right?? When Godric told Eric that he needed to learn to rule his emotions as a vampire (or something along those lines) was he saying it because he felt Eric was too lenient with the Were because she was a female (i.e. not dishing out enough torture, complying with her request to have his blood and, consequently, giving her the upper hand??) That’s what it seemed like to me but I’m not entirely certain, what do you guys think??

Those are some of same things that I loved most about this episode. I liked both Tara and Sookie much more tonight than in last week’s episode. I think that Godric told him that because of him giving her the “sacred” vampire blood, but primarily because Eric wasn’t in control and the were got the upper hand on him. She would have stabbed him if Godric wouldn’t have been there to break her neck.

Something made Eric very emotional in that scene with the were bitch. They are looking for something, or more like Eric is looking for something and Godric is helping him. This is about the revenge. And what was he talking about in the beginning of the scene that ‘it’s here, I can feel it’? Or something like that.

My take was that when she told them that her master was one of them, he was so shocked/upset, that he kinda forgot about her (having his blood and all) and let her get the best of him. I think Godric was saying for Eric to protect himself from emotion, not let it get in the way.

Which obviously later in Dallas , Godric takes this all back.

“Which obviously later in Dallas , Godric takes this all back.”

Respectfully, I have a slightly different interpretation. I don’t believe that Godric ever encouraged Eric NOT to have feelings. After all, Godric eloquently spoke of the “centuries of love and faith” between he and his progeny. In the flashback, he is warning of the danger that will occur if Eric allows his emotions to cloud his judgment.

In the roof top scene in Dallas, Eric says that Godric taught him that “there is no right or wrong, merely survival or death.” To which his maker replies that he had been mistaken as it turned out. I’ve always sensed that whatever Eric and Godric did in the past was a matter of pure survival. The backstory for them (given on the DVD commentaries) is that they wandered the battlefields of Europe feeding off the dead and dying. Even on the night when Godric killed Eric’s men…he did so quickly and efficiently. So far nothing we’ve seen of either character resembles the cruelty and sadism shown by Bill and Lorena.

I agree Penny, it wasn’t that Eric can’t ever have any emotions it was simply that he let his emotions cloud his judgment in that scene. He was so desperate to find out who her master was that he gave her blood and once she said it was a vamp it threw him off(he probably knows it’s same vamp related to his parents death) and almost got killed. There is a time to be emotional and a time to be level headed and during that mission Eric needed to put his emotions aside.

Oh Penny, you are right, I didn’t explain that very well. Yes I agree with you totally, I didn’t mean how that sounded. I just meant that he was encouraging Eric, just as you explained so well, not to let emotion cloud his judgement. But, later, i think he means to tell Eric, that it is ok to feel some emotion. I think Godric kind of knew already that Eric had real feelings for Sookie, or that there was something there between them. Kind of like telling him, or rather reminding him to not be too “cold”. I hope this makes some sort of sense, it is getting late and I am on my third or fourth glass of wine for the night!

I think that Godric knew that Eric care for sookie cause ask her to take care of him on the roof right befor he met the sun.
Godric knew that Eric would go after her he all ready starded when he got Sookie to suck the bullet out to get a few drop of his blood into her.
Eric is starding to feel his emotion with Sookie
It about time we have the book Eric and Sookie .

Yes, I agree with this statement. Godric saw there was something between them which is why he asks her if she would care for Eric. This statement/question was interesting considering that she was in Dallas with someone else! Godric totally saw it.

Yeah as a 2000 year old vampire Godric would be very adept at tuning in to humans body language and emotions, and he could obviously see that Sookie cared about Eric and what happened to him.

      June 21, 2010 at 4:08 am

The sense that I got from the scene is that Godric was upset that Eric desperately gave her his blood in an attempt to extract the information he wanted. Since the flashback is connected with Eric’s revenge storyline the name of the master vamp is obviously a very personal matter for him. Foolishly, Eric let his emotions cloud his judgment (after a hit of V, the female were viciously attacked Eric.)

I think the message that Godric might have been trying to convey wasn’t that Eric shouldn’t have any emotions but he should not be *dominated* by them. His need for vengeance, if not properly checked by deliberate, rational, and clear thinking could lead Eric into danger (as it did with the female were.)

Yep, and it could be foreshadowing what will happen with him this season. Will he learn from these past mistakes and heed Godric’s advice, or will he lose control again and lead himself or someone else (Sookie? Pam?) into danger?

Yea, awesome interpretations 🙂 sadly, I really think Godric’s warning in that scene will come back to haunt Eric later in the season 😦

Penny, I had no idea Eric and Godric lived (well sorta, lol) a huge chunk of their undead lives feeding off the dead and dying soldiers throughout Europian battlefields (totally should have gotten those DVDs lol) but that really compels me to repect them as characters even more because (from what we know so far) the harm they’ve done has either been for the sake of survival or (as we’ve seen more recently in Eric’s case) ensuring that what they consider to be justice is upheld. Definately a stark contrast to the (Bill quote warning! lol) “cruelty for sport” Bill and Lorena engaged in…

If you get a chance to read the transcripts of the DVD commentaries over at The Ancient Pythoness blog…you should because they are utterly fascinating and the back stories provide unique insight into the characters and their motivations.

For example, Godric was a young Gaul who was enslaved by the Romans. He had the terrible misfortune to be sold to a sadistic vampire master who physically and sexually abused him. His master then turned Godric against his will at 16. Biding his time, Godric learned all he could from his maker with the intention of one day rising up and killing him. Pam says in the commentary that Godric is one of the few vampires who has actually been able to kill his maker. As a result of this action, Godric became a hunted outlaw who was cut off from vampire society. He followed armies from one battlefield to another before spotting Eric…whose bravery and courage he admired. Rather tellingly, Godric chose to offer the gift of immortality only when Eric was near death.

I just wanted to add that I think Godric’s own past makes him especially sympathetic to Eric’s need for revenge. Godric, of all people, understands the importance patience and the mastery of one’s emotions. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to conceal, quite possibly for hundreds of years, the fact that you were planning to kill your abusive maker?

Y’all know that I’m still stuck on Yvetta being a Werewitch, and that scene with the naked woman, the phallic knife, and Godric interrupting really struck me with how closely it resembled last week’s DOD scene.

It was clear that he distinguished the branded weres from other ones. I think the comparison between the German were and Yvetta was another indication that, unlike other vampires we will see this season, Eric doesn’t hate an entire race.

Renee, I noticed that too…..the positioning of the women was very similar. I’m fully with you on your Yvetta/Werewitch theory. And I also agree that not all Weres are created equal. Eric obviously doesn’t have the same intense hatred toward Alcide, or he wouldn’t trust him to protect Sookie. Oh, there’s certainly no love lost between him and any “shifters” in general, but I believe his major prejudice lies with those weres that follow this ancient “pact” with Russell.

Did anyone else think it was weird that Franklin started giving off creepy Maryann vibes after Tara punched that dude multiple times? Sure, some vamps get excited by violence like Eric does, but I thought it was a little weird, I mean he was kind of ..er.. egging her on. And then thinking about past promos where FM says that Tara is just like him, what do you guys think that means for his backstory?

Yep, that’s because FM is going to be bad news for Tara. 😦

    • June 21, 2010 at 4:43 pm

I might be reading it wrong, but I thought FM was showing a great deal of self-control. His fangs didn’t pop until Tara had taken 3 or 4 swings at the redneck, and she bloodied him on the first.

It also occurred to me that it could be seen in contrast to Bill allowing the Rattrays to nearly beat Sookie to death. FM handled the situation the way Bill should have.

Gotta say, I’m loving FM. The comical face he makes when he bares his fangs to Jessica is priceless. I’ve rewatched their little exchange more then Sookie and Eric.

Yeah, it’s QSA because a) Russell makes it clear that Bill is an employee of QSA and 2) when Bill goes to the Queen for help (re the maenad) she mentions Sookie and Bon Temp before Bill says anything. She also mentions that Bill would know if Sookie was in trouble which means she knew that Sookie had ingested Bill’s blood. All this c info comes from QSA – never from Bill during that scene.

This is the best episode I’ve seen in the entire run. I especially loved all the laugh-out-loud lines — I was rolling! From Sookie saying she wanted Bill to come through the door saying “Suuuuckie!” to the menu Talbot prepared, so many I can’t remember them all. It seemed like every character had at least one fall-down funny line to say. Jason, Terry, Franklin, all of them! I’m going to watch it again! Oh, I also watched part on HBOLe, which was a kick. The voices are different, of course.

Ok since I recorded the show, i went to the part where we see the handwritten paper Bill had in the file and it’s a bunch of names such as Helen, Larry, Jillian and others. Then on the family tree you also see these names.

    • 357 Freyja
      June 21, 2010 at 8:57 am

I’m thinking about the name that was circled on the family tree. That was Sookies grandfather, that really is not her grandfather at all! So this means that the queen and maybe even Bill knows she’s part fairy.

      • 358 Dee
        June 21, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Yeah the Queen seems to know Sookie is part fairy. Even in her scene with Eric last season she says Sookie is more than human so I figured she at least has to know. Bill also has to know, which annoys me even more now if he kept asking “what are you” and when Sookie talks about these things he even acts like he really doesn’t know that part. I am very curious as to how others will react now because like others said, seeing it on TV makes it so much more creepy than reading about it. I know those who read the books will still like him and that won’t change. But there are viewers who haven’t read the books and don’t read spoilers. I have seen quite a few people on other forums asking “wait why does Bill have this file” even some who said, wait Bill might not be the good guy like I thought and some calling him a stalker and finding this creepy. So I am waiting to see how they react when they find out because most don’t understand why he has the file yet.

And yes it is different seeing this played out on TV, all the lying and deceit, gives you so much more chill!

I think that most BL have not read the books or just the 2-3 first. There’s so much higher % of EL that have read the books (as it should be 😉 )

Exactly the same with me. Knowing what I know now though, I can see that there were signs from even the first books that Bill was a controlling, self-centered jerk. I was just caught up in the romantic facade, and poor Sookie still is.

I wouldn’t exactly say I was ever a Bill lover, but I was on board the Bill and Sookie relationship. I didn’t think of Eric as a possibility for Sookie until the Dallas trip, but in Dallas I did a complete about-face. Then I read the books and there was no turning back. This sort of response seems to be common: the rule rather than the exception. I can’t imagine why anyone who’s read all the books would still be rooting for Sookie/Bill.

here’s what i remember reading, from SVB’s Lurker Bill thread

“This little snippet is of particular interest.

This season’s big bad is the werewolves, which gives plenty of opportunities to introduce (sorry, going for the easy pun here) fresh meat. But the wolves also aren’t taking away from the main characters, but actually adding new dimensions to them. For example, it’s revealed that Bill might have had his eye on Sookie for much longer than normal.
              Duh-duh-duh-DUH.

This ties in nicely with the Televisionary review a few weeks back, which revealed the following:

…James Frain’s Franklin Mott…uncovers a very intriguing subplot that could change our perceptions of certain events in the series’ very early days.”

If he’s stalked her for years that just all sorts of creepy, waiting for the opportunity to seduce her, if this is the case now more than ever I think Bill wanted Sookie to have his blood, to not only start the bond but for Sookie to feel attracted to him. It’s possible right? I mean they’ve made a point (several times) of showing us the blood causes an attraction. I so hope he delibrately set up the Rattrays to get Sookie beaten up. OMG to see a flashback scene of him allowing Sookie to be beaten up so he could look like the hero and for her to take his blood would be freakin awesome.

Do y’all think this file actually came ‘as-is’ from the Queen or was it something Bill had collected on his own? I was assuming it was something he had put together himself, but curious on what others think here.
Also, was it supposed to be implied by the old clippings and such that whoever had been compiling the ‘Sookie database’ *grin* had done so over many years? I know newspaper articles can be found online, and I’m sure Vampire’s have resources, but wasn’t that clipping from the Spelling Bee an original?
Was Sookie being tracked since childhood?

Indeed it was an original so yes, I would have to say she has been tracked since childhood. which is 1-uber creepy and 2-looks like somebody, ie the queen, ‘knows what she is’ and has been waiting for her to grow up so she can get hold of her.

        • June 21, 2010 at 5:00 pm

IMO Bill has been stalking her since Sookie’s childhood, and he is the one who composed that file. The handwriting looked Civil War era to me, and it would bring in the Uncle Bartlett creep factor.

René was stalking Jason, which is how Maudette and Dawn ended up dead right after he left. This is another parallel that points to Psycho Bill.

So I can’t take credit for this cause it was tweeted by SookieBonTemps, but there is a closeup of the family tree, and they changed Hadley’s last name to Stackhouse. (It was Delahoussaye in the books). Why? Are we the audience that stupid we can’t figure out that she is related to Sookie?

Apparently Hadley and Hunter were immaculately conceived >.< because there is no father listed for either of them, lol. So long Remy Savoy.

            I noticed this!

I found a screen cap of the family tree and there are a few differences from the books. I’ll try to make a list later…might even be a post in that.

They’re going a totally different direction with this. It’s pretty obvious that Sookie’s GRANDFATHER– not Adele via fairy affair– is the one who passed on the telepathic fairy gene to her.

They go into the dominant/recessive combinations pretty heavily on the recent “True Blood Mythology” segment on shapeshifters. I think the same rules are going to apply to fairies– which is why Sookie’s a fairy and Jason’s NOT.

Well, in fairness to the writers, many people don’t really pay attention to these things and need to be knocked over the head with hit. lol I’m sure a lot of people forgot about the Bill/Hadley scene from last season.

Yeah I guess, that is the only reason I can come up with. And it might make things easier for Sookie down the road if she adopts Hunter, she won’t have to change his last name. XD

      • June 21, 2010 at 2:25 pm

Yep. That file is OLD school.

I don’t think Bill put that together himself. Someone has been collecting Sookie Stats since she was a child – perhaps even watching her family before she was born. That file has been passed on to him.

The obvious suspect is SA….but because that’s SO obvious, I’m betting there’s more to it than that.

I notice on the family tree that Hadley and Hunter are listed….so SA (or whoever it is) knows about Hunter already. And as I said further up, this throws a different light on Hadley – if the Stackhouse family has been under scrutiny since way back when, Hadley may not be with SA voluntarily as she was in the books and QSA knowing about Hunter throws alot into the air as well….since she died before Hunter came out in the books.

May be the clipping was Grans and Bill took it .Wonder about Earl Stackhouse what he could do . I think Bill and the Queen knew that Sookie was part fairy befor Bill came to B.T.

          June 21, 2010 at 4:43 pm

I’m hoping that’s the case, the file belonging to the Queen. There is certainly something there with QSA and Hadley (who is either willing or has a case of Stockholm Syndrome in the worst way, poor girl) It looks like the Stackhouse tree has been researched for longer than Bill has even been in Louisiana.
(I’m still trying to figure out how long it was implied Bill had been living in Louisiana, per the conversation with Russell. Only watched it once.)
Sunny is right, there is a huge Creepy Factor in this whole thing, and even though I was kinda-sorta expecting it after reading the books, actually *seeing* the file with photos and notes and all, it gave me a moment of pure cringe.

I could be really wrong, but don’t serial killers keep extensive detailed records of their wrongdoings when they pop up in the media? Its like an ego inflation thing, even though keeping it on hand endangers them. And the hoarding of secret newspaper clippings, these could be part of Bill’s ritual, these could be his treasures from Uncle Bartlett’s murder. (and Gran’s if you want to go there Sunny, lol.)

The Nazis also kept extensive records.

          • June 21, 2010 at 5:33 pm

Serena, the house started giving up it’s secrets, but I don’t think the file is one of his souvenirs. I think Bill has been compiling it since he realized the Stackhouses were supes when he and Lorena lived in the house. Sookie winning the spelling bee (around the age she was when UB molested her) was probably when Bill took an interest in her.

I don’t think the file itself, just parts of it that are in there, like the more recent picture of Sookie,.. if they aren’t souvenirs in there then why the attachment to the folder?

I just think that there had to be some sort of reasoning, whether its his own psychosis or something else, for him not to have burned the folder before potentially running off to VT with his fiance (since the whole reason for the SFP is Bill’s fear of being discovered). So why keep written secrets around that could destroy/will destroy everything?

              • June 21, 2010 at 5:57 pm

I’m still on the fence about the SFP. I’m still thinking that QSA had something to do with it and it wasn’t really Bill’s fear of being discovered that prompted it. I’m just not sure now though. The fact is that he supposedly works for and yet she still tells Eric to let him rot?? What the heck is going on???

Clearly Russell has been asking QSA to marry him and she’s been turning him down – since he told Bill “she says no”. So she knows that Russell is after her area which sheds new light on her desperation for money.

Even if Bill has collected the information and made the family tree, he is doing the work for SA. SA is obsessed with the telepathy for a personal reason (remember that in the books she can communicate telepathically with her children). And now that TB introduced the topic of genealogy and genetics in this episode, I have no doubt that the symbolism of fertility (of the scallop shells on the tympanum of her temple style house) is related to her interest in Sookie.

          • June 22, 2010 at 10:45 am

            Oh I agree.
I only noticed it was Bill’s handwriting because I’ve been reading elsewhere that just because Bill has a file of shit on Sookie in his house, doesn’t mean he collected it himself or that is doing anything with it now. HA.

But his handwriting all over everything would kinda lead you to conclude that this little file is a work in progress, I would think. Rather than something that was given to him by the Queen (or whoever) that he just stashed in a drawer and never looked at again once he fell in lurrrve.

            Umm..no.

A work in progress is the best way to call it. There’s no vampire database in TB… This Sookie’s file is the “secret database” in which Bill has been working on.

At first I thought he had stalked her… But now I changed my mind. The folder had this recent photo of her in her waitress outfit. That photo was done to give a recent face to the name SS, there is no other reasson. But he might have put more information himself, maybe even that photo, he could have paid someone to make it while he was still searching. Whatever the way he got all that, he is working on it but he had never seen her before that night.

Of course there is much more… Have they been stalked all this time? Who found them? Why keeping Hadley and not Jason?

Elizabeth of Bathory shares a great heritage with Vlad the Impaler since they both come from Transylvannia which is surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains.

No wonder Russell and Talbot were proud to have her bed.

All that’s missing is a transexual. I know that’s a bit flippant as there’s murder and mayhem ahead but Transylvania + campness always makes me think of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Am I the only one who thinks that by making Bill such a “badass”, they castrated the weres? Aren’t they supposed to be super strong on V? What’s the point if Bill can rip them apart with his theeth in seconds? Furthermore it’ll make Eric look weak, when he’s going to have a big fight with one of them in the next epi, while Bill took down 3 with “bare fangs”. They just made them look a lot less scary…

I happened to like how badass Bill looked when he killed the weres BUT I definitely see your point. In fact, the thing bothering me the most about this episode is how weak the werewolves appear. I mean, in human AND wolf form. I know AB didn’t want to do CGI with the weres, but having them turn in to real wolves that are even smaller than their human sizes, just make them look pathetic to me.

I didn’t see it mentioned, but I loved the Pam and Jessica scene in Fangtasia’s bathroom.

Also I’m worried for Lafayette when Pam comes for the money; he didn’t have time to sell the blood since he was dealing with Tara.

Also is everyone thinking that Arlene is pregnant with Rene’s baby, or am I the only one?

      June 21, 2010 at 3:13 pm

Hi Mia, I was originally thinking that Arlene is pregnant with Terry’s baby from the crazy Marianne orgies. I get confused on the timeline in Bon Temps; as in I don’t know how many weeks it has been since Rene was killed. I think it’s Terry’s baby, but I guess Rene is a possibility, just my opinion. 🙂

      • 411 Mia
        June 21, 2010 at 4:26 pm

I thought Terry might be too soon to be the father, if Arlene is pregnant. The Maryann thing takes place over the course of a week? so she would just barely be pregnant if it’s Terry’s. I can’t keep the timeline straight either though so I could be wrong. I do remember Sookie reading Arlene’s mind in S1 when Arlene was worried she might be pregnant. That’s why I’m thinking Rene.

        • 412 jayetea
          June 21, 2010 at 8:23 pm

You’re right, that does make sense. Yikes for Arlene!!!

        • June 21, 2010 at 9:13 pm

Having had two babies myself, and working with pregnant women in a former life – I’m nearly willing to bet that baby is Rene’s.

Less than a month has passed since the end of season 2, and only a week or so since the orgies with Maryann. It’s far too early for Arlene to be pregnant w/Terry’s baby.

You’d usually find out you’re pregnant at the VERY earliest two weeks after conception. More usually, you’d find out closer to three to four weeks. Which takes us back to Rene.

But knowing this show, they’ll expect us to swallow that it’s Terry’s *roll eyes*

          • 414 SusanMy
            June 21, 2010 at 9:58 pm

This, definitely. Even if she had *just* conceived Terry’s baby, it would be too soon for her to know, or even suspect it. The smell sensitivities don’t begin the moment of conception, either. People’s mileage may vary, but for me, morning sickness doesn’t start before 6 weeks. All the post-Rene trauma and then the Maryanne zombie shenanigans could easily have distracted her from realizing she’d missed a period (or two). It’s understandable she’s be freaked out, but I suspect that her rather extreme state of “oh shit!” may well be due to the fact that she realizes this *isn’t* Terry’s baby…

Anyway, I think it would be way more interesting if it were Rene’s.

Hi Mia! I was typing my (sorry – really long, thoughts on last night while you posted this.) I had the same thoughts about Lafayette not having enough time to unload the V, and the possible ramifications. I also agree with you – thought the interactions in the bathroom with Pam and Jess was great. Pam’s disgust that Bill hadn’t taught her the facts of life was priceless.

Did you or anyone else notice that besides the bat on the wall, there’s a little Dutch boy mural who apprears to be blowing smoke rings? I get the bat, but I wasn’t sure what he was supposed to symbolize. It was like a blown-up paiting of a Delft tile – and seemed a bit out of place for Fantasia……any connections that could be imparted would be appreciated!

The paints where shown, they have a meaning… But it doesn’t have to be something very important or realated directly to the show… When the camera focus on something, it has a meaning… ANd it cost money to do that, it is stage, they have to make it… You don’t do something more expensive to be prettier.

          June 22, 2010 at 12:06 am

I’m sorry to harp on this. But it has been driving me crazy all day. I’ve been trying to figure out why there would be a Dutch Golden Age style mural of a child smoking on the wall of Fangtasia……finally I found this on good old Wikipedia. I know it really doesn’t have an effect on the story, but I needed to know why it was there. For those of you who wish to further indulge my OCD in this matter, read on:

The painters of the Dutch Golden Age were among the first to paint portraits of people smoking and still lifes of pipes and tobacco. Many early paintings were of scenes set in taverns or brothels. Later, as the Dutch Republic rose to considerable power and wealth, smoking became more common amongst the affluent.
Smoking represented pleasure, transience and the briefness of earthly life as it, quite literally, went up in smoke. Smoking was also associated with representations of both the sense of smell and that of taste.

This explanation isn’t surprising in the least, actually. In TB, we are constantly being bombarded with artistic reminders of the trifling, minute impressions each generation of humanity brings to the world as a whole. Plus, I find Fangtasia to be a veritable gold mine regarding the heightened sense of vampire smell, the taste of blood and pleasure in general.

          • June 22, 2010 at 12:13 am

Thanks for the explanation! It’s been bugging the heck out of me, too.

I’m intrigued by your comment about Fangtasia. Can you elaborate?

            • 423 Skarlove
              June 22, 2010 at 1:38 am

Thanks, Renee. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. Well, in my opinion Fangtasia symbolizes the ultimate in hedonistic pleasure. Humans go there to flirt with death, and to create excitement in the hum-drum existence that we all can relate to. We have 9-5 jobs, day care, PTA meetings, bills and mortgages, elderly parents in retirement facilities to whom we are responsible for, the nagging, responsibility-filled lives that we are forced to deal with through the constraints of modern society.

I think the point is that we’ve forgotten how to feel pleasure. True pleasure – no repercussions, no Christian guilt. Fangtasia brings that back to us, in the primal sense. No one goes there looking for a relationship – they go there looking for validation that they are still wanted by someone – dead or alive. They have a need, whether to be punished or praised. Spanked or kissed. Ridiculed or fucked. Ogled or humiliated……it is all there to be had. And many times – both extremes occur!

The mere notion of Fangtasia allows us to live vicariously through its patrons. Do we want danger? YES. Do we crave the unknown? YES. Are we aware it might be the end of us? YES, but who cares? To many patrons (and SVM readers/TB watchers), it seems quite the honorable way to go. I think Longshadow said it well (I apologize; I don’t remember the direct quote) – “People come here to die.”

Anyway, I think of Fangtasia as a sexual melting pot. Yes, of course it’s a brothel (which relates directly to the Dutch style mural). How many people are willing to sell themselves (souls and memories in particular – as a result of glamour) for a bit of unrestrained lust? How many people want to be bitten by the unknown? Oh, they ARE paid for their services. With a feeling of self-worth lost by their pathetic, powerless roles in modern society. The lost humans finally feel worthwhile again…no matter how much blood they have lost. Or how much lost time they are forced to reconcile. When they leave the bar, they are surrounded in a self-induced haze of accomplishment. This haze will fade, eventually….of course. But these willing participants in the age-old ritual will feel renewed.

I feel that this pathetic, human display of primal, sexual need and validation is part of the reason that Eric and Pam run this bar in the first place. Vampires hear and smell EVERYTHING in their vicinity. They know the purpose they serve, and the vice that they help supply to the Southern Christian, sexually depraved community surrounding them. You can hate and love simultaneously……..and revenue does a lot to assuage the hatred of these pathetic creatures. Whether the human pumping of blood is sweet, drunken, diseased, sour, or merely slowing down with depression or loss… some vampire will drink it. There is someone for everyone, I like to think.

The arts have long displayed human vice…..since man first drew primitive cave drawings. But this Dutch Golden Age mural in the Fangtasia bathroom reminds me that not much has changed. Humans are still creatures of vice and need. So are vampires. What more fitting venue for the two to come together as one force, mutually benefitting the other?

Hi everyone! I thought this entire episode was excellent. Well written, well executed, and filled with the awesomeness (quoting VL, I think?) that is slowly leading us into the E/S love story. The subtle nuances of AS in these scenes with Sookie totally blew me away. He has always been at his best when his quiet strength shows through, and the emotions he can portray with his eyes alone are mind-boggling. I agree with everyone above about the porch scene, his inner flash of dismay at seeing the ring, only to be quickly followed by humor to mask his pain. Beautifully Broken, indeed……..and truly poignant.

Russell’s introduction as the regal, dapper aristocrat could not have been better. He is a most hospitable and genteel villain – everything I could have hoped for, really. He and Talbot together will be a joy to watch this season, and I have no doubt that (if Bill setting Lorena ablaze DID happen) that any punishment doled out to Bill as a result of more insubordination will be creative and entertaining……..perhaps they’ll lace his next blood sorbet with a hint of silver! Or give him a lacy cravat to match Russell’s that is laced with silver thread!

I also really enjoyed the first interactions between Franklin and Tara. I’m sure his vicious intentions toward her will soon unfold, and I have no doubt he will end up holding Tara in yet another truly abusive relationship, but for now at least – he seems to respect her moxie and fierce spirit. Maybe he bared his (GIGANTICALLY WEIRD) fangs as she repeatedly punched the racist rednecks (while he held them back for her) because seeing the true strength and independence that Tara IS capable of will make his violent and brutal subjugation of her all the more entertaining for him.

It will be sick and sad to watch her unravel in such a way, but I see that there might eventually be good in him too. Maybe Tara can remind him a thing or two about human compassion, just as Sookie is reminding Eric. Or maybe he’s just great at playing the debonair suiter, and there will be no redemtion for him once his cruel nature is revealed. I hope that’s not the case. I really like him so far! Plus, the fact that his opening of the “little dossier drawer of Sookie secrets” in Bill’s house gave him NAJOR extra points in my book!

So much more to say about this ep, but I hate to ramble when so much has already been eloquently discussed above. Gigi – I think you are dead on about Tommy Mickens leading into the pit-fighting storyline. I think (hope) at some point, the Sam/Mickens sub-plot will connect with the rest. I loved Terry’s scene with Sookie, and also his adorable shyness with Arlene. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Hoyt and Jessica, but not holding my breath. She’s Beautifully Broken as well. I don’t know that she’ll be able to regain the humanity she felt with Hoyt again for a loooong time. If ever. Her first killing changed her irreperably, and she thinks Hoyt would never understand.

Loved Lafayette’s fierce brotherly protection of Tara, his begrudging admission that he wants the best care possible for his mama…..but I wonder if in this next ep he’ll be getting a visit from Eric or Pam (is this next one where Eric comes to him with “Hello, sweetheart?”) to collect on the V $. It doesn’t seem like he’s had any time to be pushing, what with impromptu Tara therapy and all.

I also adore the Andy/Jason friendship blossoming, and the introduction to Hotshot/Crystal. She’s way prettier than I thought she was in her headshot photo from the Vault. Jason’s triumphant face after he tackled the guy, then pulled out the ziplock bag of drugs was PRICELESS! I wonder if this is the Norris relative (well,I guess they all are relatives!) who will kidnap Jason later on and turn him into a (bitten) were-panther as revenge for this arrest transgression?

LOVED the WWII flashbacks, but one thing bugged me. Remember last season in the Hotel Carmilla when Lorena says she hasn’t seen Bill in over 70 years, then Eric says he hasn’t seen his maker in much longer than that? Hmmmm. 1945 ain’t that long ago. Eric had no reason to lie to her – methinks the writers weren’t thinking ahead last year. But whatever…….it won’t cloud my opinion that this episode was totally fantastic.

All I’ve got to say now in conclusion is……..Whooopeeeeee! Eric and Sookie are FINALLY moving in the right direction. I really couldn’t be happier. Plus I had some SWEET dreams last night re: primal and passionate sex. Siiiiigh. Rock on, TB!!!!!!!

He lied to Lorena because his and Godrics mission to hunt the wolves and their master is a big secret.

Also, it looks like by this time Godric has released Eric because Eric didn’t obey him about giving his blood to the were-bitch.

        June 21, 2010 at 3:36 pm

I don’t think Eric was ever released Sunny. Otherwise, “as your maker I command you” wouldn’t have worked. I think what Godric said in the flashback wasn’t a command but a reminder… and it shows the dynamics of their relationship in that Godric would allow Eric to do something that he didn’t agree with.

        • June 21, 2010 at 3:45 pm

I agree. In the mythology I don’t think to be released means to live independently from your maker. It’s more than that. It’s severing the maker-child relationship. I equate it with divorce.

        June 21, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Sunny, I’m not sure I agree with you. I know Eric needed to keep the specific details of their WWII mission a secret. But I doubt that Lorena knows of Eric’s centuries-long struggle with Russell and his werewolves. She might be aligned with Russell now, but I doubt he’s made her privy to his own torrid history with Eric and Ulfric (or so I see it playing out…) Lorena is not really important enough in their grand scheme to matter that much – she’s been used as a tool to manipulate Bill on both sides. (As much as I like her!) So I don’t think Eric needed to lie to her about when he’d last seen his maker.

I also don’t think Godric released him because of his lack of obedience in that scene. I think he understood that Eric had momentarily lost control because he let personal vengeance get in the way. We all know Godric is forgiving and a gentle leader. He wouldn’t punish Eric in that way – Eric will punish himself enough for that. Godric was using Eric’s mistake as a teaching tool.

If Godric had released him as you say, then Eric’s urgency to find him last season, the scene in the FOTS basement when Godric calls to him “I am here, my Childe”, and their emotional rooftop goodbye would be lost as a result. I think the beauty of their scenes together in Timebomb and I Will Rise Up are the epitome of what the perfect Maker/Childe relationship SHOULD be.

That is pretty much what I am saying. His and Godrics mission is not something he would want to even hint at to Lorena, whether it’s because she is unimportant in the grand scheme of things or because he knows she is connected to RE. Hence, he lied about how long it had been since he had seen Godric.

****whether it’s because she is unimportant in the grand scheme of things****

Meaning she has no ‘need to know’.

He told Sookie he was putting her in danger by telling her about the pack. It’s my sense that he would be putting HIMSELF in danger by revealing his mission to just anybody, especially Lorena. He was smart to make her think he hadn’t been connected to his maker for a long time.

              June 21, 2010 at 4:31 pm

I definitely don’t think Eric knew of any involvment between Russell and Lorena. He wouldn’t have wanted to open up that age old can of worms by inviting her to Dallas. And I understand that he needed to keep his mission a secret to everyone.

But I still think it was a case of the writers not yet knowing last year what this season would hold. Many of the actors have stated that the writers work simultaneously on the next few episodes while the season is being shot. I’m not sure they really have a clear arc of the grand story! (Actually, I wish you were there writing with them, because you do. I LOVE your theories and hope against hope that they’ll come true. The thing is, that would involve making sure that all the “bombs in the garden” as you put it, eventually go off.)

I’m merely saying that I think it was an oversight on the part of the writers, and that at the time – Eric meant what he said. I think it’s only now that the WWII connections have been invented that we can go back and say Eric lied to protect his secret.

Skarlove- Absolutely beautiful analysis of the relationship between Godric and Eric. In the DVD commentaries Pam says that she can’t believe that such a gentle spirit such as Godric is a sheriff (let alone a vampire.) Given the “centuries of love and faith” between them I don’t believe either Eric nor Godric would ever even consider the idea of release. On the rooftop scene Godric uses the phrase, “as your maker, I command it”…it was if it was the only way Godric could think of to keep his beloved “Father, Brother, Son” from dying along side of him.

I suspect that they may have a more intense maker/child relationship than most vampires given Eric’s unusual “upbringing” as a young vamp. Godric was on the run as a fugitive for killing his maker. By extension, his child Eric would have also been cut off from both human and vampire society. The fact that all they had was each other would have only deepened the already loving bond between them.

[I wonder if in this next ep he’ll be getting a visit from Eric or Pam (is this next one where Eric comes to him with “Hello, sweetheart?”) to collect on the V $. It doesn’t seem like he’s had any time to be pushing, what with impromptu Tara therapy and all. ]

It just occurred to me that he doesn’t sell it at all, or at least he’ll try to do it last minute since we saw a clip of him on the phone trying to push it but Pam will show up before the sale, since she is going to be caught with the cooler in the DOD. So Lafayette should be getting in trouble with Eric, and now I really don’t see why he would give him the car.

I wonder if Eric is anyway responsible for Lafayette getting beat up.

I REALLY loved this episode and I agree with what everyone’s been saying (especially about the complete and total yummy awesomeness of the Eric and Sookie scenes!!!). Just throwin’ this out there: I think that the picture of the little boy in the dead trucker’s wallet might be Hunter. I know in the books that Hunter’s Dad Remy was not a truck driver, but if Jessica has now accidentally killed Hunter’s father, that would a way for him to enter the story so much earlier. If that’s the case, obviously someone has to be caring for him while his Dad is out on the road. Maybe they just focused on that picture to magnify Jessica’s guilt about killing the trucker, but I thought the camera did linger there a bit…..what do you guys think?

Also, tying in with the human trafficking theory: I really noticed when Talbot got up from the table and said he had to “go drain the second course” and then yells to someone to “bring me that Thai boy”. Thailand is well known for sex tourism… Also, I loved the juxtaposition of Talbot making a point to say that the blood for the first part of the meal had all been “willingly donated”. Right. I am loving the evilness of Talbot and Russell and I loved it when Russell made Bill put his fangs back in!! Bill is in seriously deep shit all the way around!

I think that Bill did really throw an oil lamp on Lorena and I think he will be punished for it!! Episode 3 is suppoed to have the really “twisted sex scene” with Bill and Lorena, right? Can’t wait and I’m looking forward to seeing Alicide, although I don’t want him to actually hook up with Sookie.

I totally think Bill really did set Lorena on fire. Is it wrong that I found that completely bad-ass (and a little hilarious?) What can I say, she’s one of those characters you love to hate. And I am so looking forward to Alcide. Of course, I want Sookie with Eric ultimately, but Alcide is pretty awesome, and I wouldn’t mind her having a little fun on the side with him (though I’m not sure I want them to go all the way).

Anybody else think it’s funny (and telling) that the very few times that Sookie has been away from Bill’s vicinity (like the one episode she spent away from Bill in season one when she made out with Sam) that she’s very soon jumping on the first hot guy around (from the promos, it looks like she starts hitting on both Eric and Alcide after the Bill rejection phone call)? LOL

Yeah, Sookie, he means everything to you. lol

Yep, which is yet another reason why she doesn’t need to tie herself to the first guy that comes along and proposes. Girl so clearly needs to sew some wild oats! From those clips in the promos I can see Sookie and Alcide having some nice chemistry, but I too don’t want them to go all the way. Aside from the incredible hotness, I get why she would be drawn to him just like in the early books. Although, I tend to be protective of my favorite characters, and I am already dreading all of the inevitable ALCIDE IS SO HOTTT! ERIC WHO? posts that I know I’ll see on some of the boards. I wonder if they will eventually bring in other love interests for Alcide like Maria Starr?

I really liked her in the books and her relationship with Alcide and I hated it when she was murdered. You’re right, though, with AB’s penchant at making all things were trashier and crazier than the books, I may not like the TB version.

I just have to say I LOVED this episode! All of it. There wasn’t one story line I didn’t like. I haven’t been this excited since season 1 episode 1 and 2. I loved Laffy-best cousin ever! I think it is his strength that will pull Tara through all the dark times. But I want Laffy to get some happiness. Loved the first glimpse of Franklin Mott. James Frain is just so excellent as an actor. Of course Eric was excellent but I even loved all the Sookie and Bill scenes. Bill is back to looking sexy and mysteries. RE and Talbot were great. My fav line of the night though was ” I’ll just go drain the next course!”

Agreed. I loved every single character and every single storyline in this episode, and I’m loving the entire season so far (all two episodes of it, lol). In fact, I can’t remember so thoroughly enjoying any single TV show as much as I’m enjoying TB right now.

I can’t decide what my favorite scene was: the sexy Eric/Sookie porch scenes (hello, book Sookie/Eric has finally arrived!), the Eric/Godric WWII flashbacks of immense bad-assery, or Bill setting Lorena on fire (what can I say? The character I most love to hate – who ironically, I’ve kind of come to genuinely love a little bit, just because it’s so fun to hate her).

Then I should be a case study for the same abnormality, because I found this scene (and the one last season when Godrid killed Eric’s comrades and turned him) completely mesmerizing, and have watched both repeatedly.

Something about seeing hot actors break out with the foreign languages is a major turn on for me. An entire episode of Eric (and whomever else) speaking only in Swedish, German, whatever, would put me in a blissful state, indeed. Mind you, the subtitled dialogue must be employed in scenes of great emotion–rage and/or extreme tenderness work for me–to elicit maximum tingliness.

As far as I’m concerned, this entire episode, from soup to nuts = the cat’s pjs.

I hope that Alcide provides Eric with a little incentive –make him jealous. In Club Dead when he went in the window the first time, Alcide came into Sookie’s guest bedroom shirtless in his pajama pants. Sookie couldn’t take her eyes off his chest. My guess is that look didn’t go unnoticed by Eric…..and if she had his blood, he felt her momentary lust…..

So, I think having Alcide around will spur Eric on more –at least I hope so!

I noticed that too, and had mentioned it above, VL. I thought it was an 1800’s depiction of a little Delft Dutch boy with a bowl-haircut, – and wondered at the significance. It looked to me like all he was missing was the wooden shoes. I thought that whole scene was funny, but also felt terrible for Jessica’s plight due to Bill’s terrible lack of parenting skills. She really needs Pam to help her along this season, and I think it will be great for Pam to be her nurturer (however reluctantly she may be to take on the task!).

The mermaid is there making an allusion to Sophie-Anne, who was a siren or part-siren before she was turned into a vampire. And with Little Red Riding Hood they are doing the same, but for the werewolves.

I, too, loved this episode. I loved, loved, loved, Russell’s foppish entrance on the white horse with the classical music playing in the background. One of the best entrances
I’ve seen. The bantering back and forth between Russell, Talbot, and Bill was priceless.
Who knew there where so many creative ways to serve blood? LOL

The caliber of acting on this show is truly astounding. From the main players to the guest
stars who have a couple of minutes on screen and two or three lines, the talent is there.
There better be some award nominations in the future!

Finally, Sookie and Eric. OMG, I thought I would go out of my mind! That thing AS does
with his eyes – the way Eric looks at Sookie is so erotic! Even though I’m impatient for
the S/E love story, I love how the foundations of their love are being built on their
budding friendship. I’m seeing a lot more book Eric here too, from propositioning Sook,
the smartass comments, to telling her the truth and treating her as an equal. Just look at the body language -he leans in when having a conversation with her, and looks her square in the eye. Unlike Bill, who talks at/down to her, then avoids eye contact when he’s not comfortable with the conversation, i.e. when he has something to hide.

    Hey all!!
I am new to this board and this is my first comment though I have been following the blog for a while now!
I just HAD to chime in today especially after all the Eric hotness from yesterday’s episode!
How awesome was all the Eric goodness that we got to see!!?? And oh yeah that tough exterior is totally beginning to crack!!

Did anyone else catch that song playing in the background in Fangtasia during the E/S conversation?? I learnt that its “Slither thing” by Collide. That particular track added so much sexiness to the scene…I re-wound that scene over and over again just to hear that song play softly in the background!! It made that scene particularly smouldering IMO…
“It makes me feel…disturbingly human” — I bet Eric couldn’t bear the sight of tears in Sookie’s eyes.Bring on the romance…

And does anyone else feel that Sookie brought on the water-works just because she had caught a glmipse of Eric’s feelings for her in the earlier scene and she totally wanted to use that to her advantage…that Sookie is one smart cookie…hehe!!

Does anyone else know more about the music that played during the E/S scene in the porch? Maybe it was an original score composed for the show? In any case the music was sooooooooo beautiful and so damn romantic…

“but now they are after you…and I (pause) OWE you”…aahhh poor Eric searching for the right words…I cant help feeling that he just substituted “owe” for “love”…and ohh I LOVED how AS says “to LOVE and CHERISH”…the expression on his face is priceless!! Man he has it baaaaaaad for sookie!!!

THe last 2 weeks have really been a blur…Sunday 9 PM has been the only thing keeping me going…And I was almost breathlese before the show began yesterday…damn this show has me HOOKED!
And I can never enough of AS…We had to wait nearly 30 mins before Eric showed up again after the Fangtasia scene…I can do with less Sam and more…lots more…Eric!

    • June 21, 2010 at 6:16 pm

OMG! That is the hottest, most perfect song for that scene.

      Slithering

      you’re sweet
      slithering
      slither thing

      slithering
      slither thing

I LOVED how AS says “to LOVE and CHERISH”…the expression on his face is priceless!! Man he has it baaaaaaad for sookie!!!

Yes, he does! No more doubts about that and people saying he’s just interested in her telepathy or having sex with her. He fell hard and fast.

I have yet to read through all the comments, but OHMIGOODNESS this episode was amazing and all you smart ladies who post here do not miss a beat! Bill sleeping in a serial killer’s bed?? A folder of intel on Sookie, found in his home by the P.I. hired by RE, who is “hosting” him with cruelty-free blood recipes (LOL!), and then he throws a lamp at Lorena’s head?? LOL! GIGI, you were so right!

And ERIC. Can we just talk about that amazingly acted character for a minute? Because I LOVED this episode for all the wonderful things it showed about his true self, and when he stood on her doorstep and told her “I lied to you,” it was so sweet and honest and apologetic. I am so fond of how he really is a “terrible liar”. Then we go the conversation on the chairs and the “but …” and omg that just killed me. KILLED ME! Him and Godric and the uniforms and the were lady and the speaking German and the speech about Eric needing to dominate his emotions. It was all sooo great!

Arlene was hilarious and Terry was crazy, yet hot in a way, and so endearing with his list of reasons why she should leave her kids with him. Andy and Jason make an amazing team! I love them together, love how Andy fills the role of absent father for Jason, while Jason fills the role of missing son in Andy’s life. Love how they are better people with one another. Hoyt and Jessica had me in tears. They have both been so wounded by their parents, and poor Jessica agrees with anyone who calls her a whore or tells her she’s a monster. Just like when Sookie complimented her little sister and told her she was pretty in season 2 and she responded, “I’m not really. Gotta problem with the hair.”

Laffy and Tara were good in this episode. Lafayette was shown to have love for his mama, despite her ugly, cruel rejection. Working an illegal and unhappy job to pay for her care. Which is really so true about everyone’s relationships to their parents and how we want to be loved by them, no matter how horrible they are, and the scars it creates in us, and the repercussions of that. And FM! Loved Franklin and his boots and his accent (mwowr) and his simultaneously sexy/creepy behavior. You have to know it’s about to get real ugly between those two!

Phew. I’ll have to watch it again. Anyway, you ladies rock!

Thanks, sunny! That means a lot. 🙂

I forgot to mention how wonderful was the King of Mississippi! The actor who portrays him really immersed himself in that role, creating an entire backstory and even going to MS to get the feel of the land. I love that so much. RE’s accent was very good, too. And his interaction with Talbot, lol! They were an old married couple, how they played off one another was phenomenal, and you can tell RE is about to unleash some insanity on this season. Poor Bill. I do believe things won’t be going well for him.

I can’t catch the accent, but the acting was great! It is horrible, I’m loving all evils of TB, the magister, Lorena, now the RE & T couple.. I like QSA before, now I’m changing sides, lol.
THe only thing was the music… It was out of place, I wonder if it has some more meaning that just his assigned sounds…

          Lotus,

I totally agree with your assessement of the King of Mississippi (RE) and Talbot. They are AWESOME together. I also thought he did a great job with the accent. Did you guys notice how RE looked over his shoulder and lowered his voice a little after Talbot had left the room to “go drain the second course”, before he told Bill he wanted to marry QSA? To me that spells some major jealousy issues coming up for Talbot. I love all the villanous characters, because they are so fun to watch and the actors are all so outstanding. I even like ERW as QSA. For me, she is playing is just right, because she supposed to be completely crazy and I think she acts like it. Oh, and I am totally rooting for Lorena. I love her.

          • June 22, 2010 at 12:19 am

Jealously issues? Oh yeah! It’s going to turn into a veritable ‘Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf?’ Bill has already started the fun with a rousing game of Get the Guest. Eric will be double booked playing Hump the Hostess and Humiliate the Host.

Lotus, Eric moments were great like you said and even when she first opens the door he was angry that they came after her and first thing he mentions. I loved it when he said “question is why am I telling you now” just like in the books he always shares such things with her. When he says “But” and stops for a moment and then Sookie says “but” and waiting for his answer, she had a glimmer in her eyes and wanting to hear why Eric cares now and why things have changed. Then when he goes to leave after saying all that loved how she stops him and says “you can’t say all that and then leave”

I think Sookie didn’t let Eric in her house because she doesn’t trust herself not just that she doesn’t trust Eric.

That porch scene was LEGENDARY!!! A ssssqqqquuuueeeeee scene 😉
That man can tell everything, a whole story, with just his eyes, little facial expression or just breathing!
And yes, I wouldn’t trust myself with him 😉

          June 21, 2010 at 8:39 pm

I think I’ve watched the porch scene alone about 10x lol. Yeah Stephen Moyer once said that AS can show a volcano of emotions by doing the smallest things which is so true. The smallest facial expressions or movements he makes really does show a lot of emotion.

Oh yeah i would’ve taken him on the porch right then and there when he said the primal sex line lol, forget waiting to go inside hahaha.

I just watched the porch scene a few more times, and I am likely to do so again before the day is over. AS is quite amazing and Eric is adorable. He is really letting his guard down with Sookie, and doing things to protect her even though it is not in his best interest. He is clearly besotted, and she’s picking up on it. *squeeee*

Dee that is SOOO why Sookie wouldnt let Eric in the house…she wants to jump his bones (who can blame her) and doesnt trust herself with him in her home and knows that he could be convincing LOL. I loved, loved that porch scene. AS is an amazing actor. Ive always noticed how expressive he is with his eyes and face, it really takes my breath away sometimes.

I think she trusts him to a certain extent but she really doesn’t trust herself to be alone with him. lol The man is SEX ON LEGS! 🙂 I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the expressions he makes. I rewatch his scenes just for them. lol I loved the look on his face when the Were tells him that her master is a vampire. And when Godric chastises him for letting his emotions get the best of him. He’s freaking amazing.

Im actually more into the potential for pure romance between E/S more than the potential for sex this season. ( like a scene of eric holding her or kissing her gentely or licking her tears away) after Bill leaves her and/or she finds out the truth.

    • 513 Freyja
      June 21, 2010 at 7:02 pm

        June 21, 2010 at 7:20 pm

I completely agree, Freyja. Having sex now would cheapen the whole love story. Sookie needs to believe that she can trust Eric, and that’s what this season is building up to for me. She’s already attracted to him, and he knows it. But Eric needs to prove to her that he can really be there when it counts, and he has to fight his pride to admit to HIMSELF that he can love.

I think that was why he came to her house to admit that he lied. He felt guilty (a human emotion he probably hasn’t felt in AGES!) and wanted to fess up as soon as he could – considering that she could be in danger as a result.

        GOD, I LOVE that man!

    June 21, 2010 at 7:26 pm

Oh and one more thing –
I loved the way Eric in the stillness of the night, ever-so-quietly says “hello Sookie”.
I watched and re-watched that segment just to hear the sexy quiet way he says that…GOD!! he is hot!!

And one more thing…I think AS turned on his full-on-sexy mode during the porch scenes today when he talks about the wedding vows…he smiled more in those scenes than in any other episode…I particularly loved his impish, lop-sided grin when Sookie says that he cant be trusted…and Gawd!! does that man walk with swagger or what!!?? He looked so incredibly sexy in that leather jacket and those black jeans (?)…could his 6ft 4″ be any possibly sexier???

I melted into goo and squeeed when he said ‘hello Sookie’ HOLYMOLY very simple but soo sooo HOT!!! And his grin/smirk/smile the whole scene with the ‘marriage vows’ aahhhh. And when she brushed him off, saying she was not gonna talk to him about that, the unsure smile/look that came on his face *hugs*
And his swagger!!! How is it possible to be so sexy??? I’m sssoooo fangirling after this episode hehehe 😉
But damn those eyes, AS can literally tell a story with those eyes alone!

        June 21, 2010 at 8:49 pm

I am still dazed over how much AS can convey with his eyes.
The way he swallowed a little hard after saying “I owe you”. And oh that uncomfortable I-have-given-away-too-much” look when he accidentally tells Sookie that she under–estimates herself. I think that was a revelation to him as well– that he actually cared for her. And it totally unnerved him.
And oh I think that at this point Eric will do ANYTHING for Sookie…the man has totally fallen for her and real hard too…I really dont think he can turn down Sookie for anything…he *may* play hard-to-get (emothionally i.e) now and then, but there is NO way he is not going to fulfill every wish of Sookie…know what i mean??? 🙂

            SPOILER BELOW —

I did read that in episode 6 Eric “spurns” sookie…I think that ties in with the scenes we see of Sookie and Eric kissing and Sookie looking like she is trying to seduce Eric. BUT I think she is doing that to gain some info from him regarding Bill’s disappearance. And once Eric catches on to the fact that there are ulterior motives to Sookie’s come-ons I think he spurns her.

He was very intriguing… Jesus too… can’t wait for that storyline to kick in. That being said, the Eric/Sookie scenes were more than amazing! GREAT writing AND acting. Coming out of lurkdom for a minute just to comment on the titles of these episodes. I’m not sure whether it;s been discussed before, but it seems the writers are picking the titles of songs, and I wonder if these songs sort of…. set the tone for each episode? I noticed it primarily when I saw the description for s03 e04, “9 crimes”. The song “9 crimes” by Damien Rice is beautiful, and I can’t help but feel like the lyrics to it coincide extremely well with this season’s theme of Bill’s eventual downfall, though I couldn’t be sure about that episode in particular. I haven’t looked any deeper into this, except for a quick search of songs titled “it hurts me too” (s03 e03). Seems there are a lot of songs with that title, but I’m liking the lyrics from Eric Clapton’s. Again, I feel one of you has probably already pointed all of this out, but I felt like seeing if anyone else has any input??
Anyways, I love reading all of the intelligent discussion on this site! I’ve read all of the books and I truly hope Alan Ball sticks with their essence, I’m a huge viking fan and I can’t stand how manipulative and decietful Bill is! I was ecstatic when in this episode they finally started to show the ‘true’ Eric, and made it clear that YES! Bill is GOING DOWN!! Gotta say as much as I want to hate FM from the books, I really liked his character in this episode, what with helping Tara out AND his discovery of Bill’s files. I have a feeling we’ll see HIS true nature very soon though. It was so nice to see Sookie behaving more like Book Sookie. I was getting really sick of her having no backbone…. Oh, and I love the political connotations in this show, and especially this season! As a bit of a political junkie myself, I love the deeper elements they’re bringing into it.
O.K. I think I’m going to go re-watch that episode again, lovedlovedloved it, and what it’s hinting at for the rest of this season! And I’ll probably be retreating back into lurkdom for a while, but I thought I’d throw in my two cents and let you all know how much i adore this blog and the discussion on it!

I think it depends. Sometimes the songs have more of a meaning, sometimes they’re just cool songs. The first episode was originally titled “Pack of Wolves” but then they changed it to “Bad Blood” to coincide with the song that Beck did for the TB soundtrack.

In the red-carpet E!TV interview during the premier…did anyone else feel that Anna Paquin seemed less than enthusiastic when the interviewer asked her about Eric/Sookie…she seemed to jump to Bill’s defense a little bit…could be because of her real life relationship with SM…but that kinda ticked me off a little bit…!!

    • 546 Ashley
      June 21, 2010 at 9:13 pm

I didnt see it but if thats the case she needs to not comment if you ask me. It doesnt/shouldnt matter who she prefers for Sookie. And yes, it is because of her relationship with SM. If they werent dating she would probably not care at all. AB even said that when he first found out he wasnt too happy but then he saw they could be professional, but picking sides in the team thing is not something she should do and influences the audience.

        Ashley and allabouteric,

Re: AP, you know, from what I remember, it’s not that she actually said anything negative about the Eric/Sookie relationship, it was her facial expression/body language when she was asked the question. well thats good…she probably was annoyed by the line of questioning since people are obsessed with the E/S storyline LOL. Ive seen her get annoyed when asked about her relationship with SM so maybe its just a case of being asked that too many times or something.

      June 21, 2010 at 9:14 pm

@allabouteric I totally noticed that as well. Maybe she had been getting hammered with questions about the Eric/Sookie relationship, but it kind of bugged me too! I have seen interviews with Stephen Moyer and he seems like an extremely intelligent, witty and very talented guy, so I can understand why she fell for Stephen, but on the show it’s got to be ERIC!!!!! And this is evil of me, but I read that Anna and Stephen were staying in the same hotel for weeks or something and really got to know each other, then there was a several month gap where they were in different cities while they waited to see if HBO would pick up the show after they shot the pilot. Anyway, my point is I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Anna and Askars were the ones that were staying in the same hotel for weeks and SM wasn’t there! (I know, I know, the show is not real life and real life is not the show!!)

Yes,i saw it, an i’ve seen other Interviews especially lately where she rolls her Eyes, or looks pissed when asked Eric/Sookie questions. I understand she probably gets asked those questions alot, an it can get annoying im sure. However i’ve never seen her act that way when asked Bill/Sookie questions, which makes it look like she favors the Bill/Sookie Relationship, which is fine everyones intitled to their own opinion, if she prefers Bill/Sookie thats her opinion. I however think its unprofessional for an Actor/Actress to respond one way to a Couple on a Show their playing on, an a different way to the other. AP should put her feelings aside when answering questions, an respond as she would if they were Bill/Sookie questions, dont make it obvious who your rooting for. I also do believe she wouldn’t care either way if SM wasn’t playing Bill, an all i have to say to that is i really dont care if her an SM are together in real life, im happy for them, an hope things work out for them, but just cuz their together in real life, an enjoy being an onscrean couple as well doesn’t mean the whole world has to as well. I prefer Eric/Sookie, an could care less about her real life Relationships. Im not feeling the Bill/Sookie Relationship, it doesn’t interest me, its bleh as far as im concerned, an thats that. It does make m,e angry when she acts that way, i feel its rude all Eric/Sookie Fans, but maybe thats just me. I could be totally wrong about what im assuming, maybe she doesn’t care either way, an i’ve just seen her Interviews on days shes not in a good mood or something i donno.

I agree. She is biased because of her and SM relationship but she needs to put that aside and be neutral. She got cast to play a part knowing that Eric would be a love interest later on. Its extremely unprofessional to choose sides.

There was a cool pop culture reference in the flashback scene with Eric and Godric. Rob Zombie made a faux trailer to a movie called ‘Werewolf Women of the S.S.’ which was used at the beginning of the Grindhouse double feature film in 2007. You can watch the trailer on Youtube if you search for the title.
(Another more obvious inspiration is of course Inglorious Basterds and possibly there are a lot of more obscure ones.)
I’ve read all of this in a review of sorts, I’m not that informed in pop culture:), but I may try to write about it later.

I’m fangirling hard enough to do myself an injury here and I don’t care! 3.02 has thankfully beat the pants off 3.01, even with all the spoilers I’ve indulged in and, in the words of my WoW playing bretheren Alexander Skarsgârd totally fkn pwnd that espisode! How refreshing (in this time of plastic Hollywood clones and reliance on CGI) to see an actor who can ACT! Whenever he’s on screen its like being on a rollercoaster as you feel every emotion as his character experiences it – simply breathtaking!

I am so, so very glad to see the start of a return to a likeable Sookie, too. There have been times since the Bill fauxmance began that I actively disliked her and didn’t much care what happened to her, but thankfully it seems that a combination of no Bill blood, her being removed from his direct influence, some yummy E-juice counteracting the Bill blood and Eric letting his guard down in front of her might just save the girl from fully fledged Bitch-hood yet. Welcome back Book Sookie, I’ve missed you more than you could know!

Ok, so on to a couple of points about the episode that I don’t think anyone has touched on yet (and if you have I apologise for repeating).

Bill and Jessica: Not once during the episode did Bill even seem to think about Jessica or whether she was ok. I hope he’s been buying True Blood in bulk and had a delivery just before he was snatched because Mr “Don’t Feed From Humans” doesn’t seem to have left her with any money to buy some (she had to take money from the dead truckers wallet to be able to rent the chainsaw). New and improved Sookie thought to ask if Jessica needed company and Hoyt thought she might be hungry and brought her some blood but her Maker? Nothing, and he doesn’t know how long he’s going to be a ‘guest’ of RE so what does he expect her to do? Starve until she is (to paraphrase the magister) nothing more than leathery skin and sticks? I wonder if we’ll see throw a tantrum when he eventually comes back and finds Jessica working at Merlottes? But what does he expect her to do? Feed on people and risk arrest, punishment or even death at the hands of the drainers? Well, I think (based on how Bill has treated her so far) that would suit him just fine as it would prove him right about how dangerous she supposedly is and remove the inconvenient child from his life at the same time.

Bill and Russell and Eric. Something about the way that Bill kept saying “I am not the vampire you want”, the way he kept verbally underlining the offered position of sheriff and making mention that he does not have QSA’s ear to influence her… Now, is it just me but was Bill sneakily trying to throw Eric to RE just to get himself out of the mess he was in? Oh no your Majesty! You don’t want me! You want that big blonde vamp over there! He’s already a respected sheriff and the Queen trusts him a lot and might listen to what he has to say more than she would little old me! I think you should just let me go and kidnap that viking dude instead… Thank goodness RE already knows enough not to fall for it, as I don’t think Bill would put in a great deal of effort into finding Eric, even if Sookie asked him to.

I hadn’t thought of that! Bill hasn’t really thought of his child, who’s now alone, with no money and has no way of knowing how to feed right, with all her ‘dangerous’ vampire behaviour. What a great maker! Poor girl, dismissed her whole life/undead life.

I was totally expecting Bill to say “Eric is who you want, not me” or something like that. But I’m sure that comes in to play later on anyway…

i loved the episode and i love all the great comments on here…i just want to add that theres so many lines that sookie says this season that make her sound like a naive whinger and i just want to backhand her! just the way she says stuff..i dont know if its over acting or if shes trying to put on a tough face but either way it literally makes me cringe
    e.g.
“bills out there somewhere…in DANGER…i cant go on with my life knowing thats the case”
“i dont know about you but i was taught to fight back”
“what have you done with bill?!”

eric was right..if she keeps this up shes going to get herself killed

With each day she is away from Bill she’s more and more likable to me 🙂 And I understand her too, she’s lost alot in her life and most resently her gran. Of course she can’t go on with her normal life if she thinks her boyfriend is in danger (I wouldn’t). She knows that weres took Bill and she heard the weres thought, he wouldn’t be there to take her if he hadn’t something to do with Bills kidnapping. So I understand her also yelling ‘what have you done to Bill?’, I would be pissed off!
And her gran did teach her to fight back, she was a strong willed lady!

I really think that this Sookie has come far in only 2 days away from Beeelllll 😉

Yes Sookie getting to be the Sookie we have in the books .
Just think a few more days if we are lucky when he calls she tells him to go a way .
Can”t waite untill she finds out about ever thing Bill has done .

Well supposedly Bill and Sookie will be very glad to meet each other, I think in ep.6, but how long that will last?? It was supposed to last a short time.

yeh freyja..shes WAY better when shes not with bill…and im not annoyed that she says that stuff..cause i get it..but its just how AP says it i guess thats the bit that turns me off the character…or maybe its because i hate bill and i think shes wasting her time looking for her..when she could be focusing her energy on eric and how gorgeous he is..”he means so much to me” pfftt how can you say that when eric is right in front of you?!

i also HATED the line she said to tara “im in the same boat bills gone too” (or something like that) …as if some one dying is the same as someone being kidnapped! bill makes her delusional

      June 22, 2010 at 12:12 am

I think that when she said that to Tara, it was in the heat of the moment. She was talking in last night show how sorry she was for ruining Taras life, she knows it doesn’t match up being dead and being kidnapped.
And I’m sure I would jump the Viking and dump Compton like a hot potato, but that’s just my fangirling 😉 Eric hasn’t been very forthcoming to Sookie, he’s been cruel to her friend, tricked her with his blood, called Lorena to distract Bill… it must be confusing to meet a totally different Eric few days later, although she has softened to him after Godrics death.

Not sure if anyone has already brought this up (i still have about 200 emails to go thru from this thread) but one of the girls on twitter (sapfirerose) put a theory out there.

When Jessica takes the truckers wallet out, she pulls out a photo graph on him and a small blonde hair boy. Could it be possible that Jessica killed Remy, and the boy is hunter. We won’t really know till we see a picture of the boy casted as Hunter but i did think it was interesting, something to ponder!!!

I actually mentioned this in an earlier comment. I really think it might be Hunter. If it IS Hunter, that means they are changing the Remy Savoy book storyline completely. I think it makes sense, though, as a way to bring Hunter into the story so much earlier.

  79. June 22, 2010 at 1:34 am

Again not sure if it was mentioned but What makes Bill a very promising Vampire???? Russell says it to Bill after he told Bill he knew about QSA/Sookie

Well, if nothing else, he is great at fooling telepaths and humans about his real character.

I was asking myself the same question lol but maybe RE was just saying that to gas up bill’s head lol.

      June 22, 2010 at 6:13 am

I think it’s the knowledge of his allegiance to QSA with the whole Sookie thing that makes him promising, in that he has demonstrated his ability to successfully follow orders? As well, the fact that QSA would trust him with such a matter suggests faith in his Vampy abilities.

I don’t think RE knows about Sookie yet. Even in DOH recent interview it seems like he finds out later. He knows Bill is dating her but not that QSA sent Bill to seduce her and that she is a telepath.

I just finished rewatching the episode on demand and I have to say it…Oh My Godric! Why is it that I have a fangasm whenever Allan Hyde is on the screen? Something about that 2000 year old tattooed Gaul just rocks my socks. I also can’t help but feel weirdly guilty about my TB crush considering I’m old enough to be AH’s mother (well, his remarkably well preserved and young-looking mother 😛 .)

*crumples into a sobbing heap of fangirl shame*

Am I the only one who thought of Eric in ATD when he was mocking the vows. I hope we get to see him in that black robe.

      June 22, 2010 at 11:23 am

I have a hard time envisioning Eric marrying Russell Edgington as he did in ATD since we know that he is seeking vengeance against him. Maybe he will marry another king or queen? And, of couse, that leads to him obtaining the ceremonial knife which he uses to marry Sookie. Will we see that?

Cooter = Vagina. Now I get it, man I feel slow. Oh of course Bill got it, the perv. lol. But I guess its a southern thing.

So if Russell names his other Weres ‘Meat Wallet’ or ‘Slit’ we’ll know he has a sick sense of humor for reals.. on second thought he must be Pussylover9!

Thanks. I had no idea. I only know “coot”, as in “silly old coot” or “poor old coot” implying the person is a bit slow, usually also fairly low on the socio-economic scale. I now have a new vulgar word in my vocabulary. 😀

Denis said yesterday in an interview that his interest in Sookie (from Russel) will get stronger and obsessive…i guess he’ll find out what she is….i mean Mott coul glamour Tara e make her tell him..and then he could call the King…..

OK….the episode was EPIC….i mean E/S from the books are officially with us…and Eric thabks to the incredible facials expressions and body languege, was absolutley GREAT!!!!

But i want to make a point with all of you:

-Talbot said that Russel had 2 hemorrgages this week….WTF??? He is a vampire he shouldn’t suffer from this…..

But then the bell rang…..Russel is a druids….druids are just an ancient name for kind of witches…..they made rituals, magicals arts….very powerful btw….and their society were well organized….check on google you’ll find it ^^

So Russel is trying to control his pack of wolves, creating a kind of personal army (Denis said that Russel want to become President of the United States!!!)…
So….i think witches had already made their appareance…..
Russel is a kind of chief for this congregation of ancient druids…..and that could even be why he’ll survive at the end and not burn as Godric….becouse he’s working on that….and what could happen if Russel gonna missing or dead or badly hurt?
That his congregation will have revange against Eric (this is their way to act, revange the missing of their chief or Master)……Amnesiac Eric.
