Pack Yer Bags!

Our new home is ready and waiting, and not before time. Hours of tinkering and staring cross-eyed at WordPress has left me channelling Jane Bodehouse after a few rounds with Maryann – confused, dishevelled and more often than not, blind drunk.

While most of you are snoozing early Friday morning (US time) the blog will be locked while we transfer everything to the new server. We’ve done a few test runs, and hopefully it should be seamless -you guys have made over 21 000 comments here and that’s ALOT of yammering, so let’s cross our fingers and legs and hope for the best.

A redirect will be placed on this URL on Friday. Essentially, this means that you will automatically land over at the new site when you try to come here. Redirection may take a day or two to kick in, or as little as a few hours depending on your location.

If you do find yourself here over the weekend and the place is deserted, our new URL is:

The blog won’t be open for posts until Friday, but our shiny new forum is ready to roll – so head over there to register and start posting any time you like.

Make sure you update your bookmarks, and you may also need to resubscribe to your feeds from the new site.

Pack your bags peeps! And the last one out the door–switch off the lights!

Booze for dolls? Sign me up NOW. I'll take ten.

We’re moving house

As those of you who have been around for a while would well know, we are fast outgrowing our little home here on WordPress.

I have decided to self host the blog and I’m aiming to move to our own domain in the next week or so, technical catastrophes notwithstanding! Self hosting opens up new possibilities in terms of the features I’m able to include on the blog, so now is the perfect time to ask you guys for some input.

Our new home will include a forum. A forum will give us a place where you can set the topics for discussion, rather than me always deciding what is newsworthy and what’s not. This feels like the logical next step and will help keep the blog posts manageable and the comments on topic.

I am also hoping to find some contributors to write the occasional post on either the SVM or True Blood. Again, I hope this will provide some fresh perspective and variety. If you enjoy writing, and you’d like to contribute a guest post either as a one-off, or on a more regular basis email me here:

Your contribution could be funny, it could be a review or analysis, or it might be a mix of all three. Any topic or character – books or show is welcomed, don’t feel that I’m only looking for Eric/Sookie-centric posts.

So now I’m throwing it over to you. Some of you have been here since day one, when this blog was lucky to get two comments a week. Others are only recent arrivals and with a fresh set of eyes, you probably notice things that the rest of us don’t. I want to hear from everyone.

What’s working here? What’s not? What works elsewhere that we could incorporate here? And what would you like to see going forward?

“Our little zoo is growing…”

As most of you who have been visiting the blog since it began late last year can attest, we are growing fast!

I’m not able to be here all the time, and I’m often offline when the blog is most active. I’m feeling this may not be a wise management strategy when the True Blood Crazy gets underway…

So, it’s time to delegate! I’m pleased to announce that our very own Viking Lover has kindly agreed to become a moderator for the blog and help me to keep things running smoothly.

Thank you so much Rachel, and welcome aboard!

My ramblings on the Sookie Stackhouse books, and the HBO series True Blood. Everyone I know is already half crazed with my plot and character assassinations, conspiracy theories, theme explorations and general obsessing, so now I'm going to share it all with you. Spoilers and Viking worship are have been warned!
