New Season 3 Extended Promo

And boy there are some juicy bits in here.

Nice car Lafayette is driving, and keep an eye out for Eric FLYING through that window at Alcide’s.

Franklin Mott is creeping me the hell out already. Just sayin’.

And why, oh why does the Magister have Pam up on the torture rack?

I don’t know why everyone is saying the Eric/Sookie scene must be Bill’s nightmare. It’s definitely in Alcide’s apartment and I’m not sure how Bill could dream of that? They edit things to be misleading intentionally, people.

Lydia, I think there are a couple of reasons that everyone is wondering whether or not it was Bill’s nightmare.

One thing is definitely the editing cause you see what looks like Bill waking up right afterwards crying his bloody tears. It could be intentionally misleading, but then again.

Another thing is that the actions seem OOC for Sookie.

And finally (and it may just be me here) but Sookie seeing the light and realizing “Who the hell cares where Bill is at when I’ve got hot Viking Sheriff right here in front of me?” Well, I guess it seems a little too good to be true, lol.

What about the part where Bill would have to be able to dream about a place he’s never been before? Because it’s not just some random bedroom scene, it’s in Alcide’s place.

Hey, I’m not saying that it is or that it isn’t a dream. I was just throwing out the ideas I have as for why it is assumed to be a dream. If I’ve learned anything at all with TB though it is to never expect stuff to happen how you think it will happen. I kinda have just got the the point where I’m trying to view it as a crazy ride that I’m just gonna hop on and see where it takes me.

Might be due to Bill having had Sookie blood, just a theory.

I don’t think it’s a dream. It’s Alcide’s apartment and Eric is wearing the ring around his neck. Why would Bill dream about a ring he’s probably never seen and apartment he’s never seen?

I didn’t think vamp could dream, so how could it be a dream? I think it is Bill recalling something, or waking up in the bed with Lorena, or something like murdering his wife.

Hm. The sheets are different when you see him coming through the window than they are when he’s on the bed. There is a blanket … part of it could very well be a dream. Or, Eric comes twice to the apartment. But in the same clothes?

Hmmm! Just when I think I know what’s going on, TB proves me wrong. 😉

Let’s think about this. We know that Eric visits Sookie at Alcide’s at night. Why would Bill be asleep at night? Bill would be awake, too. So, I do not think this scene could be Bill having a dream. My inclination is that they put that scene of Bill waking up directly after the Eric/Sookie scene on purpose to throw us off.

I’m amused that you actually think it’s not some sort of dream. If Sookie has done a complete 360 and this is actual reality, I would be shocked. If this is some sort of reality where this is, in fact, happening, then she’s playing Eric somehow. I don’t know what exactly is happening, but I seriously doubt that Sookie has all of a sudden forgot about Bill, has turned into a minx out of nowhere and is seducing Eric just because he’s hot as balls. I totally WISH that’s what was happening, but I really doubt it.

DonnaC, I do not think it is Bill having a dream as some were suggesting. It is quite possible that either Sookie or Eric could be dreaming this. It could not be Bill dreaming since he would not be asleep during the night hours.

well we have to remember that Bill called her and said not to look for him and that they were doomed from the start. So it wouldn’t be that she just gets over him for no reason. She still wouldn’t be over him but people do these kind of things when they have just been hurt and betrayed by the person they love. I’ve seen many people who will go out the same night to get their mind off of it and they believe the best way to do so is to spend it with someone else. Not saying that this is what is happening and I have no clue if it’s a dream or not but her behavior wouldn’t be that odd to me if that were to happen. Does it mean it’s right? No, of course not but I also think people who do this are not doing the right thing. They feel rejected so many need the immediate feeling of being wanted by someone else. Some don’t want to sit there crying and hurt over it so they figure they need a distraction. It’s normal human behavior, well maybe not normal lol but I’ve seen it plenty of times.

Well she took solace in Bill’s bed after her Gran’s funeral so maybe this will be setting up a pattern for her character?

Also about the whole dream thing, if I dream at night my dreams aren’t always set at nighttime. Just because it’s dark outside the window – doesn’t mean whoever is dreaming is sleeping at night. IYKWIM.

FTR I don’t think it’s a dream, I think Sookie is upset and feeling rejected by her first love and wants to reassure herself that she’s still desired …

I really really hope this is a dream. I don’t want any further excuses as to why this relationship is just as unstable as her’s and Bill’s. What I enjoy most about Eric and Sookie is their companionship. Yes, the sex is great, whatever, but even before the sex, the relationship was fun and built on friendship and mutual admiration. I SO don’t want to jump that bit, that bit is the MOST fun, just to see them have sex. It’s just not worth it. So, I’m praying it’s some kind of dream or fantasy or she’s playing him.

Damn Yvetta, she has sex with Eric and Bill gets kidnapped then she has sex with Pam and the Magister shows up and starts torturing Pam. There is no way that she is not bad news lol.

So what if Pam gets tortured because of Yvetta? If they are pissed at Eric for letting in a spy or whatever, maybe Pam is trying to take the hit for Eric? Aren’t we supposed to see the loving sire progeny relationship between them?

I always have trouble viewing the HBO videos on my Mac and opening Firefox doesn’t help much, but is that Eric that we see zip up out of the car as Laffy is driving? I really do think that he bequeaths this car to Lafayette according to the description for Episode 3. Of course, we get to see Eric driving the red sports car for about 3 seconds before he gives it to Laffy. AB giveth the book and then he taketh away!

As Eric flies in the window, he says “How goes the search?” and it makes me think it’s the first time he’s seen Sookie since he sent Alcide. I don’t know what to make of the scene except that Sookie appears to come on to him immediately and I’m sure that it’s in reaction to Bill’s call. As hot as it promises to be, I hope it gets stopped before it goes all the way because I really, really don’t want the first time for them to be all about Bill.

It also looks like Eric is at Russell’s mansion and not in disguise. I wonder if it’s Talbot that he’s toasting with the martini glass? If he’s at Russell’s I bet it occurs after the 2nd night at Lou Pines and Sookie is there as well. I had my doubts before this, but I really think that the scene that AB teased in Episode 6 will be at Russell’s and may be closer to the book than we (or at least I) dared to hope.

Well, if Laffy is to be Eric’s “henchman” this season, he deserves a nice ride! And, maybe this is Eric’s way of making up for the torture and PTSD from last season, because a shiny red convertible should do the trick, right?

          June 2, 2010 at 8:20 am

Or maybe Eric wants Laf to drive his car around to make it seem like he hasn’t left the area since QSA tells him not to go. Might throw people off his trail.

I couldn’t catch anybody. Just someone dissapearing, like fairies poping, lol. I don’t think Eric would donate his car but they might have needed to get somewhere fast. Arg!! So meny questions, lol.

Oooh yeah, totally forgot about that “gift” synopsis, makes sense to me.

I also thought that Eric with the Martini glass might be him coming on to Talbot, lol.

    • 43 Gigi
      June 2, 2010 at 7:50 am

Yep legalease, I was saying the same at the other post, because IMO, this might be just Sookie’s reaction to the hurt and the “abandonment” she could be feeling after Bill’s attitude and words. And definitely not the result of a real emotional development with Eric. So I just hope it will not happen… NONO…

BTW… I’m so tired to hear Sookie saying on the trailers: “Bill’s out here, in danger” (like if I have to care pffffffft) that I’m even glad they just cut the phrase to half on this one HAHHAHAHHAHAHA!!!

      • 44 Dee
        June 2, 2010 at 7:59 am

Ok if it’s real, maybe Eric allows to get thrown on the bed or whatever happens but then stops to ask whats gotten into her. She tells him about Bill’s call but continues to seduce Eric and he stops her because it’s not the right time. Possible? They can still use it against Sookie I guess, but if later on in the season we see her actually still want Eric or just realize she developed some feelings, might be good.

        • 45 VampirePamsGirl
          June 2, 2010 at 10:10 am

You know, I’m not sure if I want Eric to stop it or not in this scenario. I mean, on one hand that would be awesome in a way…him putting a stop to it and Sookie would totally love that later on.

Then on the other hand, I know it’s an insane wish, but I’d love for Eric’s true character to be kept what it is and the real Eric (especially at this point in the story) would definitely not stop Sookie’s seduction. “I don’t care why you have sex with me, as long as you do.” (paraphrased from CD) So in a way, I’d almost rather it be an interruption that stops them.

          • 46 Robin
            June 2, 2010 at 4:20 pm

I agree VPG. If this is not a dream and really happens, I would love to see them interrupted by Alcide. It is too early for them in the storyline. I think the attraction is there for both of them, no doubt.

          • June 2, 2010 at 4:56 pm

[I’d love for Eric’s true character to be kept what it is and the real Eric (especially at this point in the story) would definitely not stop Sookie’s seduction. “I don’t care why you have sex with me, as long as you do.” (paraphrased from CD) So in a way, I’d almost rather it be an interruption that stops them.]

See, but Eric’s character has developed differently in TB. I’d argue that he’s emotionally more attached to Sookie in S3 than he was in CD because of what happened with Godric. To me, the rooftop scene in S2 allowed for much more of a connection than the pink spandex scene in LDID.

I think it is possible that Sookie is drunk off her ass and he smells it on her and stops her, or (more likely) that Alcide opens the door and stops them. But I do not think AB will allow E/S’s first time to be a knee-jerk reaction to Bill’s call. I know most people have lost faith in AB’s vision, but I trust him to not ruin that for the fans. I think it’s just going to be the TB version of the mansion bedroom scene that gets interrupted by Bubba.

          June 3, 2010 at 12:24 am

I think you might be right.. he doesn’t *really* look like he’s getting into it, you know what I mean? She’s acting all sexy and coming onto him, but he looks more like he’s trying to figure out what’s gotten into her, rather than enjoying himself.

      • 50 legalease
        June 2, 2010 at 8:19 am

This scene has to be from Episode 4 or 5 at the latest, and there’s no way her feelings for Eric have developed to this point so it has to be in reaction to Bill. I would love if it’s actually Eric that stops it, but I would also take an Alcide interruption as well. I’m just hoping that by the end of the season we get some reaction from Sookie, perhaps to the danger that Eric seems to be facing according to some of the casting sides, that shows she really does care about him. I would definitely consider that to be a successful arc for this season and would be eagerly anticipating Season 4!

        • 51 Dee
          June 2, 2010 at 8:25 am

Even if this isn’t a dream, I really don’t think it will go far at all. I definitely don’t think they will have sex or even get close to that. Well if Eric is in trouble because of the V and might face punishment then maybe we’ll see Sookie worried for him and realizing she does care. If she finds out he wrote out a will, that might scare her even more.

From everything I saw tonite, he seems to be better than I thought he’d be. I think his detective mission parallels Bill’s in a way, he is sent to BT, falls in love with Tara, but he probably acts differently than Bill. He actually seems to have a conscience when he was talking to whomever about Tara.

I didn’t catch the creepy vibe from Franklin either, but I’m not quite sure why. There were actually a few scenes in that promo where I kinda liked him. He’s definitely one that I am really interested to see how his story line plays out though.

True, there’s a bit of a creep factor. Though for me, it was mostly when Tara was telling him to go ahead and bite her. It did kinda make me flash back to zombie Tara getting it on at Maryann’s orgies.

It’s a “Wolfsangel”– German for “Wolf’s hook”– which, when horizontal, also signifies “werewolf.”

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfsangel

It’s a magical rune symbol appropriated by Nazis, much like the swastika was. Mark my words, this will lead directly to Russell… and the idea that werewolves were used as superhuman soldiers (i.e. berserkers) definitely seems to be coming into play. It seems that Hitler had a “royal guard” of his own.

Yeah, I figured that it might be a rune, since Russell supposedly has an ancient Celtic backstory. Turns out it was– I added a link to the Wikipedia entry in my original reply, but it’s awaiting moderation. (You can just scratch that SVB!)

Aside from the Nazi and Neo-Nazi associations, it looks like it also has strong ties to the Vikings in Denmark and Norway. Which is interesting. Eric’s story converges with Russell’s and the werewolves somehow. And I know we’ve all speculated that his father is involved– that he was either a werewolf, or used them to shore up his kingdom, only to be killed by them.

I have to say, I REALLY like where they’re going with this… and I’m dying to confirm whether or not Eric was a were before he was turned, or if his father was one. DYING I TELL YOU.

TB Eric a were? woah. We saw some of TB Eric’s human life in Season 2, I’ll have to go back and rewatch it. I don’t remember anything were like humping out at me then. In the books it was bad news when a were was turned into a vampire but I know AB has changed a lot of the mythology. However, it seems like AB has kept the general animosity between the two groups in TB. I guess we will have to wait and see!

              June 2, 2010 at 10:37 pm

I’m really excited to see how all of this is going to come together. I really think that Bill’s kidnapping/Russell/weres/V trade are all part of one big umbrella story that will involve almost all of the current and new characters, except maybe Sam and possibly Jason, in one way or another throughout the season. At least they are combining the vamps and the weres this season instead of isolating the supes in separate stories like last season’s Dallas and Maryann arcs.

Also, AS pretty much confirmed an Eric/were connection in the USA Today article from last week. He said that Eric hates the weres because they are smelly, unsophisticated, etc. (similar to the vamp attitudes in the books) but that we will find out he has a deeper reason for hating weres. The spec about it being related to his father appears to be dead on. I think I’m going with the theory that Eric’s father and Russell controlled/used different packs and that he was killed by them. Russell still seems to control his pack, if the shots of him on that stage in the promos are any indication.

This has the potential to be SO good — I really hope the writers don’t drop the ball!

            • June 3, 2010 at 1:23 am

Me too! This is the first werewolf story that has EVER captured my interest. Way to go AB!

So the spoilers talked about long-lived weres, and it looks like we’re going back to WWII. What would the purpose be? I suppose Eric and Russell could have had another run in in the 40s, but their issues go back much longer than that.

Me too! I’ve never gotten into werewolf stories for some reason and I completely hate the usual horribly ugly animatronic creatures in ww movies. I LOVE the fact that they are using the real, fiercely beautiful wolves, and I wonder if the ‘Wolf’s hook’ brand ties into ‘Hitler’s Werewolves’:

The “Werwolf” branch of Hitler’s forces were particularly frightening for a variety of reasons; even today they have an almost mythological fascination. Though Hitler refused to label them as a contingency force of guerrilla soldiers, most experts agree that ‘der Werwolf’ was an elite squad trained for the most covert military tactics.

I bet it does, but I can’t figure out who is going to be involved in the WWII flashbacks. It can’t totally be about the new wolves. I think one of the WWII players will be Yvetta since apparently some of the wolves are extradorindarily long lived.

Yeah, but Yvetta probably isn’t even her real name. I now think she was sent by Russell– who no doubt came up with her cover, including the name Yvetta.

I still see her as being a spy. But I doubt we’ll actually see her alive in WWII– she’ll just be part of a continuing movement in which Russell is somehow involved, sort of like Neo-Nazism.

Yeah, now that I think about it, we don’t have any indication that she would be in a flashback, and the casting call really was for a bit part. It was less impressive than Daphne’s CC.

So why would he send Yvetta to spy on Eric? I wonder if she was sent to sniff out the V-juice or she uncovers it by accident. But the V-selling only happened recently… If Yvetta is sent by Russell, do you think now that Russell is pussylover 9? Maybe he is buying other vamps blood to find out who else has the arrangement he has with his Weres in order to take them out.

Or does Russell have something against Eric as well? Its hard to imagine they haven’t clashed before in over 1000 years, and that they live just a state over from each other.. I think this ‘grudge’ has to be more of a feud.

I wonder if Russell sided with the Nazis and Eric and Godric sided with the Allies,.. and they’ve been on the opposite sides of every war for a long time.

Given the casting call for episode two– featuring a werewolf posing as a helpless German woman who attacks (I presume) an American GI– I think we’re going to see the werewolves very LITERALLY involved in the Nazi “Werwolf” effort.

Evidently, Nazi “werewolves” were trained commandos for insurgency– a guerilla plan that was put in place as a last-ditch effort to gain a foothold after Germany was occupied. I think we’ll see that these weren’t just trained civilians– but actual WEREWOLVES commissioned by the Nazis.

This is interesting, too, because U.S. officials have apparently compared the “Werwolf” operation to the insurgency that’s currently taking place in Iraq. I wonder if True Blood will tie werewolves to more modern-day underground terrorist operations around the globe, as well… or if their involvement will be restricted to more notorious and powerful regimes like Hitler’s.

If memory serves me correctly, Alan Hyde tweeted way back when that he was appearing in this episode (Ep. 2) and the TV guide description for Episode 2 contains this:

“A new crisis causes Eric to reflect on an old mission”

So perhaps Eric and Godric are involved in this flashback? Did they fight in WWII or are somehow involved with these weres? I’m just wondering if Eric hasn’t been getting revenge against the (Russell’s?) pack at opportune times over the last 1,000+ years.

Honestly, I don’t know how connected Eric and Godric will be to this. But my theory about Eric’s hair change ties into the Nazi association– with him maybe trying to disguise himself as a Nazi soldier who was turned (or a Nazi werewolf who was turned) for whatever reason.

I made this connection because when we got our first glimpse of Eric’s new look a while back, someone commented that he looks like a “confused Nazi robot.” (LOLZ) It’s funny, but true… and it may not be a coincidence, either.

                  • June 3, 2010 at 6:18 pm

In her character profile Pam says that Godric and Eric followed armies and fed on the dead and dying after battles. WWII would have provided plenty of feeding grounds.

Well that could explain how Eric and Godric show up in the flashback. Although the description says that Eric reflects on an “old mission”, which makes it seem that there’s more to it than just hunting for a meal.

I don’t know, I’m trying not to get too excited about how it may all tie together because if it doesn’t then maybe I won’t be so disappointed. But there’s definitely the potential here for a fascinating story.

                    June 3, 2010 at 6:28 pm

I guess there could be two different flashbacks in the episode. If Eric’s is prompted by a new crisis, I would assume it’s either related to problems with the V business or discovering Sookie’s being hunted by weres/Bill was taken by weres. It’s the “old mission” part that is really intriguing to me. What was the mission and who ordered it?

I wonder if the show is limiting the were (and possibly vamp) connection solely to the Nazi regime, or if we are going to see that it’s been going on throughout history wherever there’s a need for violence and terror. The connection that was made in a previous post between the brand that the weres have and a Viking symbol is fascinating. So maybe the Vikings and Nazis both used supes as soldiers/weapons. Have other human leaders taken advantage of these blood lusty super soldiers? Of course, I guess the vamps would be limited to night battles and raids.

I wonder if Napoleon had weres or other supes at his disposal?

We’re TOTALLY on the same page with this. And that’s how I think werewolves are going to tie into Eric’s story– as sort of a royal guard for his father, or as an elite class of warriors to which the King was tied somehow. (Maybe he WAS one… maybe not.)

Anyway, Eric says in the new promo that these nutty werewolves are “well-funded”… maybe the vampires serve a role as financial backers? I don’t know. The vampire-werewolf connection (and specifically RUSSELL’S connection to them) is still where I’m scratching my head.

Russell’s role in Eric’s father’s death (assuming I’m right about that connection) is what the “old mission” is ultimately referring to (perhaps in addition to other factors)– I’m 99 percent certain of that. I just don’t know how the details are going to fall into place.

You know, I wonder, too, if this is why Terry Bellefleur said that he “knows things.” If he has a military background– especially if it turns out that he was involved in special ops of any kind– he might already be familiar with the use of werewolves during wartime.

I always thought that there was something suggestive about that– this could turn out to be the missing link.

This is also the symbol that links Yvetta to the Weres.

“The wolf’s hook or the 13th rune; Eihwaz. Identify Eihwaz with Yggdrasil, the Norse World Tree or Cosmic Axis. The name of this Rune simply means “yew (tree)” in the various Germanic languages, hence Eihwaz or Iwaz in reconstructed Common Germanic later became Yr in Old Norse, Eoh in Anglo-Saxon (which became “Yew” in Modern English), and Aihus in Gothic.”

          Yvetta means yew tree.

I think you are RIGHT on the money. And that would mean that Yvetta probably isn’t a spy for Sophie-Anne… but for RUSSELL.

            • June 3, 2010 at 5:36 pm

Yes, I agree she’s from Russell. Now I’m thinking that this legendarily long lived tree may correlate to a Yvetta who is much older than she appears. If she turns up in the WWII flashbacks, I think she’s Hallow. Maybe she tries to extort money from Eric after he takes vengence against Russell. Maybe Russell can’t support the Weres after that.

Have you heard QSA’s line? “Let him rot”.
    Was she referring to Bill?
I don’t think. Bill doesn’t know about the arrangement between QSA and Eric, he only knows that Eric is dealing V, not about QSA’s involvement.
So the “only other vampire who knows about their arrangement” could be Pam and Eric was ordered to let her rot?
    Does it make any sense?

    • 118 Serena
      June 2, 2010 at 12:07 pm

If it is Bill she is pissed at him. Why wouldn’t she be more concerned? Maybe he failed his mission say, he had a very different reason to make a panic move with the SFP. I dunno, I’m at a loss on that one. Or maybe she is feigning interest in Bill, so Eric is not suspicious?

    • 119 Lotus
      June 2, 2010 at 12:10 pm

My opinion is that she was talking about Bill, which may mean the theory about her arranging the proposal was incorrect. The reason I believe QSA meant him is because of how upset she was at Eric about Bill finding out in the first place. If I’m remembering right, the Eric/SA conversation at the end of last season was about Bill knowing Eric was selling vampire blood and Eric pointing out that Bill didn’t know SA was involved. Still, Bill did know about the selling of ‘V’, and it wouldn’t be a huge stretch to assume that a little investigation would uncover the Queen’s role in all of it. Maybe she feels that “letting him rot” is the best course of action so that her part in it is never brought to light. Perhaps she’s the one who throws Eric/Pam under the bus with the Magister?

      • June 2, 2010 at 12:19 pm

I don’t know, Bill was the first thing that came to my mind too but still he doesn’t know about SA’s arrangement and Eric knows that he doesn’t.

Another thing that makes me think they were talking about Pam is the fact that Pam is tied up in chains while Eric is standing behind her and he looks helpless.
Why would Pam be blamed about the V dealing and not Eric?
Maybe he tries to follow QSA’s verdict but his love for his child is too strong, he calls the Magister saying he is guilty and takes all the blame on himself, then makes the testament.

      June 2, 2010 at 3:44 pm

Well QSA says “Let him rot” so I don’t think it’s Pam. It’s definitely Bill, she was talking about. And Bill doesn’t need to know the full details about QSA supplying Eric. If Bill were to talk and rat out Eric then if others look into it such as the magister they can find QSA involvement. But she obviously isn’t thinking straight if she says “let him rot” because she doesn’t realize how evidence can just lead back to her.

      • 124 sunnynala
        June 2, 2010 at 3:57 pm

Right. “Let him rot” sounds an awful lot like ‘protesting too much’. She should be VERY worried that Bill is out there somewhere and could blow the whistle on Eric to save his skin–which would then lead right back to her. So yeah, I’m thinking she says that to throw Eric off the edict scent.

        • 125 Dee
          June 2, 2010 at 4:34 pm

Exactly Sunny, because otherwise I don’t see how QSA is not concerned about Bill missing. Not even because she cares but she should know it all can lead back to her. Doesn’t matter if Bill doesn’t know QSA involvement, others can find out about the involvement if they look into it.

          • June 2, 2010 at 7:43 pm

That’s exactly what I found strange in her “let him rot” line. She MUST be at least worried that Bill spills out about the V dealing.
But she seems trying to keep Eric from going to rescue him. Maybe because she already knows the Magister is coming and wants to be sure that Eric is there to take all the blame on himself! Or more simply she doesn’t want Eric to bond with Sookie any much more.

    I loved this trailer!!!!!

“Let him rot” is Bill, i guess Eric after Sookie’s requesto to find him, is talking with the Queen..and she says let him rot….the V issue is a problem for her, doesn’t matter if he knows it’s only Eric, i guess a Queen pays for her Sceriff’s attitude too….and she can have Sookie even with Eric’s help….in her crazy mind.

The two people drinking the girl…she is the streaper who danced for Bill….i guess it’s Bill and Lorena who drink from her….or when the King treats Eric saying there will be cnsequences for Sookie, he wanted Eric to “enjoy” in his Castle….

I sooo loved Eric flying acresso the window…of course it’s not a dream….the entire scene at least could be Sookie’s dream, but it’s too real to be a dream….

I wonder if Pam is being tortured because the Magister found out about the V blood being sold and she’s the one to get blamed.

I also wonder if Sookie tries to seduce Eric because she still thinks he’s got Bill. If it’s a dream sequence I’ll be disappointed, because we’ve already had one dream sequence. Do we really need another one?

Franklin Mott was supposed to be attractive right? Not just a creeper?

I’m sick of Tara…and I like the scenes with Jason and Crystal…they look promising.

Ok so I have been completely on the fence about the whole hair drama up until now but oh jeez. Seeing this new clip with SO MUCH MORE ERIC has tipped me over. He just looks so…not Eric. I’ve heard some of you say the hair is cartoon-ish and I agree. It’s definitely cringe-worthy. I can understand them cutting it shorter, but why the brown? WHY? What does doing that to Eric’s hair achieve? There is still no plausible answer to this question.

Oh and while I was watching the Q&A and confronted with AB’s smugness, I was so imagining Gigi running at him with a pair of hedgecutters or something, lmao.

Well I always liked the short blond hair from season 2 best, but I actually don’t mind his hair now. He’s always hot, blond or not, he’s the Viking king 😉 I can see Eric in these clips, and damn he’s so tall when he comes in the window, it’s like he owns the place where ever he is 🙂

BECAUSE SOMETIMES HIS HAIR IS BROWN. THAT’S JUST HOW IT IS. THEY DIDN’T DO IT ON PURPOSE.

If hair color is seriously what makes Eric to you (and others) I feel like you’re missing the point.

        June 2, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Lydia, respectfully, you are wrong. Eric is no longer blonde this season for a REASON. They very purposefully changed his hair for the show, and SVB took great pains to demonstrate this fact definitively. It only makes sense that people would be confused– if not bothered– by that.

In piecing together all of the clues we’ve been given, I have a very good idea at this point as to WHY this was done. We might have it explained, we might not– but I’ll wait to see if the season’s events support my hypothesis before I commit to it. What I will say, however, is that if I am right in my current assumption, I wholeheartedly approve of the decision to dye Eric’s hair brown. And I’m fairly certain it will only be temporary.

          June 2, 2010 at 6:39 pm

I agree and it also becomes a continuity problem if they don’t offer any explanation for it on the show. If there was a reasonable time gap between Season 2 and Season 3, then most fans would likely just write it off that Eric changed his hair during that time gap. However, Season 3 picks up right after Season 2 and the last time we saw Eric he had blonde hair. Plus, the show has already set the precedent by writing Eric’s only other change in hairstyle into the story. The audience will expect an explanation. If the show doesn’t offer it, I predict that even fans who aren’t obsessed with Eric will be bitching about it on the TWOP boards. They are obsessed with continuity over there!

I would love to read your hypothesis and I really hope that you are right and it will only be temporary. It’s hard to tell in the flashback with all of the dirt and mud, but this color appears to me to be pretty close to TB Eric’s color when he was human.

            June 2, 2010 at 8:34 pm

They didn’t ask about Eric going from blonde to brown specifically at all. They just asked how come Jessica’s hymen grows back but Eric’s hair doesn’t. AB said that with Jessica it’s different because it’s technically an injury to the body so it will heal itself and only reason it grows back. AB said that he knows in CH books that vamps can’t change their hair or anything but he changed it on TB for the simple reason that if they do quite a few seasons, he wants to be able to change the characters hair(maybe an issue of being out of style or just changing the character a bit) he then went on to say that after a person dies, their hair and nails continue to grow. Although that is not exactly what happens but guess AB went with that myth.

The only thing that confuses me about that E/S scene is why does she say “want more”? If you’re seducing someone you don’t stop to ask if they want more. That’s a little strange.

Every time I think I have a solid prediction, they release another promo and blow it right out of the water! Damn! This season looks freaking AWESOME! What fascinates me is that we’ve seen practically all of S3 in these promos and we STILL don’t know what the heck is going on.

I think Pam is being tortured to forcing Eric confess / talk about trafficking V, because nothing would affect Eric more than seeing your child being tortured.
I do not know if was already posted here some theory like this: Bill was kidnapped by werewolves at the behest of Russell right? (I do not trust AB), Bill flees, which is another trap, and Russell “conveniently” encounter Bill. Russell brings Bill to his mansion and tempts to be a spy / snitch, the reason may be: 1 – he wants to do a takeover in LA or 2-or eliminate competition in the trade of V (along with Eric – because their relationship in the past that led to revenge), or 3 – the previous two.
Russell is in collusion with the Magister, who appears in Fangtasia to eliminate as much as Eric and SA, SA tries to save his ass giving Eric and Pam, now how this will come in the fourth season in LA and I do not know…

I still don’t know what to think about this season. Why does Russell know who Sookie is let alone her name and who Eric is? Kind of kills the whole secret mission vibe that was supposed to happen. But okay, say Bill told Russell whatever he wanted to know, this all comes down to Lorena wanting Bill for herself and kidnapping him was the only way to do it? I’m curious to find out the reason Bill was kidnapped because if it’s truly all about Lorena, Bo-ring! Pam seems to be taking the punishment for Eric and the Queen’s V selling. What does that say about the Magister’s power? He’s more powerful than the Queen? That’s interesting if that turns out to be true. Franklin Mott isn’t supposed to be a bad guy but I’m not sure why he’s around. I know things are different from the book (which is fine) but what’s his purpose? Bill’s been kidnapped and he’s looking for him too? Or is he just in town and checking out the resident vampire in the area. Again, why? Tara just can’t seem to stay away from naughty boys. Maybe she has something within her that draws darkness to her. First with Maryann now Franklin. Her being so opposed to Sookie dating a vamp, she must be really hurting from Eggs’ death to hook up with Franklin.I so think the E/S scene is a dream. It’s just too weird. It’s probably Sookie’s dream about Eric since she does dream about him. Her attitude and “it turns out it wasn’t him I was looking for,” seems to be from a dream. Sookie’s not that bold nor would she just turn on Bill that quickly. She was going to say yes to marrying him and she’s looking for him. She’s not going to run into Eric’s arms that fast, especially not after walking in on him in the basement at Fangtasia. Speaking of which, how big is that basement? LOL

    • 153 Dee
      June 2, 2010 at 3:36 pm

Well if Russell knows about Sookie, it’s possible he knows from Lorena. Lorena met Sookie in S2 and it’s possible that Russell has a plan and Lorena found the opportunity to give him info as payback. Russell definitely has a plan of some kind and will play a bigger role with Bill.

I think the Magister having more power than the queen makes sense to me. There is somebody who needs to keep all the kings and queens in check otherwise they have too much power.

      • 154 Robin
        June 4, 2010 at 1:36 am

Russell knows about Sookie because of his spy, Yvetta. She overheard Sookie and Eric talking in the basement of Fangtasia about Bill’s kidnapping. Also, she may have figured out that Eric is attracted to Sookie.

I dont know if she was upset by Bills dumping over the phone telling her not to look for him, after she made the effort to go to Jackson and look for someone she thought loved her, i could see her acting OOC and coming on to Eric. But in reaction to Bill. Otherwise, yeah i would say she definitely wouldnt do that.

It has just come to me that Eric wouldn’t let anyone harm Pam and it seems that she is going to be torture (I haven’t seen that face in her ever, nor in 10 books) so Eric is going to feel it (if he can feel Sookie -as he said in Dallas- he has to feel Pam much more).

We know he is going to fight at least a were… But I think he will be very very pissed with those vamps too… Could we get the real Eric out of the closet? The one thousand years old viking? It should be something memorable.

It’s exciting knowing all the sit he is getting. Pam tortured, people looking for him and, the queen on her knees?? Could she get killed?

If FM went to BT, which is only about Sookie and Bill’s relation, for the Magister, then… What does he wantin the story? When he talked to Pam and he said things should be controlled… Did he refered to using humans, to sell V, or to what? Could one of his duties after the revelation make vampires behave towards humans?

I hope that Bill doesn’t have a “noble” reason for telling Sookie not to find him; I don’t think I can take more St. Bill this season.

    • June 2, 2010 at 5:11 pm

I think there’s been way too much foreshadowing about Bill betraying and leaving Sookie. I think everyone can think of a few foreshadowing moments about Bill lying to Sookie, but for an example of the leaving Sookie bit see S2E10, Mary Ann: “But I dare say there’s nothing stopping him for one day leaving you cold.”

Well… actually Rusell is saying in the extended video: “Ohh Sookie, it such a shame she has to pay the price for your stubborness”. And even when they show Eric at the end of his sentence, some of us were discussing on the last post that it isn’t clear if he was indeed talking to Eric. Especially because it is Bill the one who is going to be at his mansion. So, if Russell actually said it to Bill, there you have the “noble” reason for Bill to call Sookie and ask her not to find him.

      🙄

      • 167 Lotus
        June 2, 2010 at 8:56 pm

Even if that phone call is done to protect Sookie (which I’m sure it is, because do any of us realistically believe he would just break up with her?), Bill is still going to do things this season that paint him in a much darker light. One example is the stripper they drain and the scene with Lorena where it appears they are having sex. Those will be voluntary actions and unnecessary ones, and then we still have the QSA betrayal which will blow Sookie’s mind.

        • 168 LLE
          June 2, 2010 at 9:08 pm

Bill made bad choices and he responsible for his own actions while he is held captive. In the book, Bill was not responsible for his own actions held captive. Bill rape Sookie in the book. Bill did not have any remorse for the rape in the book.

          June 2, 2010 at 9:24 pm

Yes, but it will not change the fact that it is just another way to victimize him.

As for unnecesary, it wasn’t needed to create a torture dungeon for Eric, rip off Royce in pieces and enjoy to have sex in the same place. Those also are voluntary actions… and the silver cross isn’t an excuse, because with his strenght and his speed, he could has managed the situation without needing to ripped him into pieces.

Because I love the Eric character from the SVM, but that doesn’t blind me to see what’s happening in TB…

          • 170 LLE
            June 2, 2010 at 9:34 pm

Eric in the books did that too were-wolves in the book. Sookie in the books had seen eric drain the were-wolves. Eric on the was in pain from the silver. Eric did not killed Royce in sport.

            • 171 Gigi
              June 2, 2010 at 9:48 pm

But he did had another ways to manage the situation because he wasn’t CHAINED with silver, he had his hands and feet free. SO, he could throw him against a wall or the floor or anything else. HE DIDN’T had the need to ripped him into pieces, unless TB wanted to show his vicious brutality or his lack of control. Also it doesn’t make any sense to have a dungeon to torture humans in order to interrogate them because vampires have other resources (as the glamour) to obtain information from them.

              • 172 LLE
                June 2, 2010 at 10:00 pm

Royce was an idiot and maybe Eric had a bad day. Eric did have his dinner. Eric is a vampire and that what vampires do with they get angry.

If Royce did not did what he did, Royce could still be alive.

                • 173 Gigi
                  June 2, 2010 at 11:19 pm

Any of those aren’t reasons, but in fact are excuses. Because if I were hitting or shooting everyone who test my patience or actually do worse things like that, just because they are idiots, make me angry or because I have a bad day, I would be at jail… And if Eric doesn’t have a dungeon to torture humans, and Royce had attacked him only because Eric stopped him at street for questioning, it would make a lot more sense and even would seem fairer than the way TB showed it…

Because torture doesn´t has anything to do with justice.

Eric is a vampire and he not human. All vampires kill that part of being a vampire.

Royce killed three vampires and human by burning house and the police did not care and they were investigate it because they were vampires.

Welll having sex with Yvetta down there is his and her choice, and it still cant be compared to the nasty sex scenes Bill has with Lorena, and the chicago couple sex scene. And Eric killed Royce, yes, but weve seen Bill kill the Rattrays and Uncle Bartlett. How is one worse than the other? Uncle Bartlett probably slowly drowned, or could have been torn apart by alligators who knows. And Bill showed the Rattrays no mercy. Im not saying that Eric should have killed Royce, but his actions arent worse than what weve seen from Bill.

Is Eric wearing same black suit in the DOD scene with Pam being tortured and in the scene where it appears he is talking to Russell(not sure yet) and the martini glass?

If it is Russell he is talking to then it’s odd, but he does get into the mansion im guessing since something happens with him and Talbot and background does look like the mansion. Now we know somehow Pam will be saved, but have to figure out how. Is it possible that the Magister strikes a deal with Eric, maybe that can also explain how QSA walks in with the Magister. Maybe they want to get to Russell, and Eric has to go there to go along with Magister’s plan. Otherwise I don’t get Eric being in the mansion, unless this is just separate and part of his revenge plan.

Hardly a plot-related observation, but I kinda smiled at Sookie being called a “cream puff” (since that’s an usual alternative name for “elair”). Liked the trailer well enough, but Sookie’s forwardness torwards Eric makes no sense to me at this stage, seems really off.

Did any else see the sheets on the bed is white on the bed when Eric come in to the window
Then we have Eric and Sookie on the bed with strip sheet , its a dream of Sookie.

    • 196 Freyja
      June 2, 2010 at 11:00 pm

I think maybe she was dreaming some of the part when he comes in the window and the other part with the striped sheet (and tissue) is real.

      • June 2, 2010 at 11:27 pm

I’m thinking the opposite. I think when he came into the window and probably up to some point when he’s lying on the bed is real. You can see in this screen shot that the crumpled tissues are on the bed when he comes in (meaning Sookie has been sitting there bawling by herself about Bill).

        http://www.facebook.com/editalbum.php?aid=179020&add=1&id=250991153554#!/photo.php?pid=4093353&id=250991153554

Then there are shots him lying on the bed – one with the tissues by his head (still real I’m presuming) and then another shot of him still lying on the bed and the tissues are gone.

Those tissues are the biggest red flag that there is something fishy going on in this scene. I doubt we’ll work it out until we see the whole thing though.

I think you are correct, SVB. I almost wonder if the scene will play out twice, the second time being a dream sequence. What makes me wonder this is that she says the “I have skills….” line before she kisses him in one trailer. In another trailer she says “turns out he’s not who I was looking for” right before she kisses him.

I’m not sure, this is getting too confusing LOL 😀 But I think the line: “turns out he’s not who I was looking for” is very dreamscene like, because then you just say what you want without thinking about it, and Sookie wouldn’t say something like that to Eric. But the skill line I think she would say.

                June 3, 2010 at 12:25 am

Yep, that is exactly what I am thinking! That line “turns out he’s not who I was looking for” is OOC for Sookie. But, I can see her trying to convince Eric that she has the skills to take care of herself for sure! The scene will play out twice, should we place bets on our theory?

                June 3, 2010 at 12:30 am

I think the whole thing is real, not a dream, and Sookie is probably messing with him to get something (in a super hot way). There is some editing in that scene in this promo, you’ll notice. I think there is just one kiss and they’ve edited creatively as they like to do.

This is how I think the scene will play out; Eric comes in the window, Sookie goes to him, grabs the ring and says “he’s not who I was looking for,” then the skills line, then the kiss (hot damn), throws him on the bed, takes off her robe, climbs on (heaven help me) and says “you want more” and then gets up because she’s f**king with him to get him to do what she wants.

As far as the bedding goes, I think it’s just the lighting from different angles makes them look like different colors.

And no matter how these scene plays out, I believe I’ll be fine with it cuz it’s just so smokin sexy! Yippy!

Yeah, I do not get this. First the cream colored sheets with tissues scattered on top when Eric comes in the window.

Then he’s lying down on the greenish brown blanket with striped sheets, no tissues. (maybe one under his shoulder)

The same blanket with tissues scattered under Eric. did he scoot down so that more tissues came into view?

WTF is up with this? The tissues/not tissues issue is almost beside the point. The sheets and blanket DO change and right within the same scene. Unless Sookie interrupted her seduction of Eric in order to strip the bed and changed the blanket and sheets–and put the crumpled tissues back on the bed LOL– then this scene is a mind-fuck extraordinaire.

If it is a dream, my bet is on Eric.

Well, I, for one, can’t wait to see whose dream it is because it definitely is going to be a dream sequence of some kind! It would be awesome if it was Eric!

I think the “I have skills…” line really does happen, she kisses him and then we get “want more” but it ends soon after. “Turns out he’s not who I was looking for” is definitely something Sookie would say in a dream, maybe in Eric’s? How many weeks are going to have to wait for this?!

                    • June 3, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Different POVs? Sookie’s, Eric’s, and Alcide’s who is listening in the other room and doesn’t know the bed is littered with tissues?

I don’t know… It seems the same scene, but the sheets are too different, it’s not like a slight change, it’s huge… Maybe they are from different episodes. Even if they are one after the other, they would be different moments (awake, asleep, remembering…). Sheets in TB are important, lol

But if she was messing with him would she go so far as to take off her robe and straddle him in a thong and bra just to get something? And what would she want? I mean Erics already helping her look for Bill, so what else does he need to do for her? Not saying you’re wrong, but im just confused by Sookie taking off her clothes to convince Eric to do something. That seems like something she wouldnt do.

I can’t see the pics for some reason, SVB. I looked at the vid and there seem to be tissues when he’s on the bed – they’re below his shoulder near his upper arm. Something is definitely off though because the sheets look different. I think someone mentioned this above and I think it’s true. When he comes in the window, the sheets on the bed seem to be a taupe color. When he’s on the bed, the sheets look green. Am I going crazy?

Thanks, SVB! Something is definitely off! There are tissues in both scenes though (notice he sees the tissues when he enters the room lol) – the one where he flies in the window and the one where he is laying down but the sheets are different colors! I’m confused…

              • June 3, 2010 at 12:22 am

But I’ve also seen a headshot of him lying on the bed and the tissues aren’t there – at all.

VL-see that is weird, even if it is a dream, would the color of the sheets be different in a dream? I agree with everyone that something is just off. Maybe they don’t want to keep boring everyone with dreams so a play on that they will do daydreams? Maybe Sookie picturing things as she is there with Eric? But almost same thing and still doesn’t explain different color sheets.

two different nights? In the pic SVB posted of Eric coming through the window, can anyone tell if Sookie has just bra and panties on or clothes underneath? It makes sense if she is wearing the same robe 2 nights in a row, and wouldn’t be surprised to see Eric with a black wife beater two nights in a row lol. And why do they keep having to show so much of this scene to confuse us more haha.

Different colored sheets, but both pictures have tissues on the bed. The picture when he is coming in the window does not have the green blanket, and there are tissues on the bed. The picture where he is laying back on the green blanket, there is a tissue just above his shoulder. It definitely does not make sense that he would have tissues in a dream sequence, but maybe?

Okay, I just checked out the scene where Alcide and Sookie are sitting on the bed (the one where he’s comforting her) and the bed is covered by the green sheet/striped pillow covers. I guess the part of the sequence where Sookie throws him on the bed is not a dream. I don’t know! I’m so confused!!! In the book, Eric visits Sookie twice while she’s staying with Alcide so maybe it’s the same here. I’m grasping at straws because I really, really, really, want that E/S hands-in-hair kiss to be real damn it!

I am sticking by my theory and how the scene will play out. The only pic I see where the bedcoverings “look” different is when Eric is coming in the window. I know it looks white, but I still say it’s just the lighting. This is no dream. It can’t be!

I hope you’re right EO! My theory is this: the first part, when he flies through the window and she says “he’s not what I was looking for” is Sookie’s dream. The part where she says, “I have skills…” and throws him on the bed is real. I’ll stick to my original theory that she is trying to convince him that she can handle going back to Lou Pines and Russell’s compound. That’s why see her go back later in disguise.

IN seasson two, there was a change in the type of sheets from the real one to the dream ones. THough it wasn’t that much, just from cotton to silk, and a sight change of colour…

The sheets could be a continuity error or they might actually have decided to change them on the close-up. I’ve known directors to ask the art dept. to change bedding on close-ups because it looks too boring and they want more interest in the frame. Of course the continuity girl’s head almost explodes at this but it does happen. 🙂 They figure no one will notice. Of course TB should know better because they are bound to know fans are going to be watching any scene with the Viking in it again…and again. So does seem unlikely they were switched out and sloppy if it’s a mistake but hey no one’s infallible. 🙂

Oh, I should have scrolled down! Noticed this earlier, because when he’s on his back in the scene the blanket is green and when he’s coming through the window there is no blanket? It’s very confusing. The tissues appearing and disappearing also throw me for a loop, though my theory is that the shot where there are no tissues is part of a dream? Am I using a lot of question marks? ???? 😉

        June 3, 2010 at 12:40 am

But there are tissues on the bed though. When he’s laying down, there are no tissues on the bed by his head (that’s the blanket that is turned down), but there are tissues below his shoulder (by his upper arm).

          June 3, 2010 at 12:57 am

Hm, I see that now. Good eye, VL! It’s possible that part of the shot is a dream sequence. I’m thinking the entire bed sequence is a dream. The part where he comes through the window is real and, also, where she makes a pass at him and they kiss. But I have a feeling Eric refuses her and maybe leaves, and the dream is when the blanket is on the bed. Though why anyone would dream tissues into their Viking fun time is anyone’s guess, lol.

              June 3, 2010 at 1:20 am

You’re right, Dee. So it could be Eric. That would be quite a twist. If he notices the tissues coming into the window, Sookie makes a pass and kisses him and he refuses her, it would make sense that he would dream of what happens had he not refused. And the tissues, which are symbolic of Sookie’s pain and upset and her reason for kissing Eric in the first place, would feature in the dream as a reminder that she didn’t come on to him out of a need to be in his arms, but because she was hurt and possibly wanted to hurt Bill, too.

Or … I’m really overthinking all of this, lol!

I think FM is bad news. Did you see him holding that trucker while Tara punched him? I think he’s going to turn on Tara and Lafayette is going to have to save her yet again. I think Lafayette will go to either Pam or Eric for help. Although poor Eric already has his hands full.

Jessica, being such a baby vamp, has very poor impulse control and probably wouldn’t know when to pull away before someone died. Also, we see her later with the chainsaw after taking advice from Pam, and I remember a shot where she’s moving him over to get down in the hole before dawn.

I’ve missed so many TB goodies in last few weeks. Thought I’d just jump back in at the new stuff. Need to take a day off to catch up. 🙂

The last screen grab of Eric, up top here, looks like he has tears in his eyes. I thought the same when watching the trailer, after Russell says about Sookie paying the price for Eric’s stubbornness, when it cuts to Eric he looks upset (looks like a tear on his cheek and his eyes are red rimmed, hard to tell though). I’m wondering if this is after she gets staked and RE wants Eric to agree to something before he’ll heal her. That could be intriguing.

Also I figured when AB said in the Q&A about someone getting new hair he was referring to Jason, they must be bringing his storyline from the end of book 4/beginning book 5 forward to this season. New mini ep would also suggest this. Great stuff!

Yeah, I think you’re right about Jason being the one with new hair. The hair question was mine. My friend said she could see AB tap dancing to answer the question since she doesn’t believe there is a real reason for Eric’s hair change. She thought that “someone will be getting new hair,” was another response to that question, since he’s so wiley.

I don’t think it’s a dream. I think she’s upset after Bill’s call (the tissues on the bed) and turns to Eric. He’ll probably find out that’s why she’s coming on to him and turn her down. I don’t think he would want their first time together to be about Bill. Ick.

  37. 262 ESFAN08
    June 3, 2010 at 12:50 am

This Season looks like its gonna be great, am just hoping it really turns out that way. I dont believe the E/S Scenes in Alcide’s Apartment is a dream atleast not entirely. I remember AB saying E/S would have an intense Scene in Epi 6. I got the impression he meant intense in an intimate sort of way. I’m sure this is the Scene atleast in partial that he was refering to, but i also know he could be keeping the Scene he was referring to underraps until it airs, so maybe im wrong. However i will be really disappointed if this is all a dream since we’ve had 2 already last Season. Now if this was an Eric fantasy i’d be less annoyed, but i keep feeling its not gonna end up being a dream/fantasy but reality. If you go by how the dream sequences were shown in the previews last Season we barely got a glimpse of them till they aired. In the promos so far we’ve seen quite a bit of this, an besides Sookie being OOC its not got the dream/fantasy quality to me. I know alot of People think this has to be a dream cuz of Sookie’s OOCness, but if this happens after the Phone call from Bill, its not unbelieveable that Sookie might be so upset as to throw herself at Eric. I mean so far from what we’ve seen from that Phone call Bill’s coming off pretty cold to her especially when he says we were doomed from the start. However do i think they will go all the way? no either Alcide will walk in, an Sookie will come back to herself, or Eric will be the one to say no that he doesn’t want her that way. I can see Eric going for it with Sookie to a point, but being that he is developing feelings for her, an im sure will see more of that this Season, but when it comes down to it he will not want her doing anything with him she might regret. I’m also going by what Alex said about Eric in the Q&A last night, that in the beginning this was a game to him with Bill, but now its becoming something more for him with Sookie. I dont wanna see these 2 get together till Season 4 tho, cuz i dont want them to be rushed, i enjoy the buildup as long as we get some more banter, an the E/S back an forth stuff we read in Book 3. I know this is not the Book, but that was some good stuff lol with E/S. I would love for this Kiss to be real tho cuz we should atleast get a E/S kiss Scene this Season. I was really hoping for the staking, an Sookie taking Eric’s Blood this Season, but i have a feeling we aren’t gonna get that which sucks. I love Pam, an am getting pissed just watching the Scene with her about to be tortured, especially when it looks like SA walking in with the Magister, an the look on her Face like she’s gonna have ERic an Pam, or even just Pam go down for the V an her get off. I really hope Eric goes after her for this cuz he looks like he’s about to cry watching Pam up on that torture Wheel. I’m also wondering if maybe the Scene with Eric an Lafayette in Eric’s Car if the reason Eric just leaves real quick, cuz Lafayette comes off like he wasn’t expecting that, if Eric leaves cuz he senses Pam’s introuble cuz it looks like he just showed up in that Scene right befere the Magister turns Pam to face Eric.

I skimmed through these comments, so my apologies if y’all have been talking about this and it’s old news:

At first, I thought that they may have rolled Franklin Mott and Mickey into the same character – just based on the creeeeepy vibe I get from FM in the promos. But now with the accent discrepancy and the fact that when we see FM with Russell, he’s making a comment about “we’re practically twins”… I’m wondering if that’s Mickey in Bon Temps, impersonating Franklin to get to Tara. Why, I couldn’t tell you; I haven’t thought that far ahead. But I definitely don’t get the same creepy vibe from the guy on Russell’s couch that I do in all the scenes with Tara.

Then again, I never trust these promos. They’re far too clever with the cutting. Nothing ever turns out the way I think it will.

    Two other quick observations:
The way Eric looks up at Sookie when she mounts him on the bed – I’m going to print that out and hang it from my ceiling. So. Hot.

If Bill’s talking to Sook in the last line of the promo – “we were doomed from the start” – CONGRATS, Bill, you finally told the truth, you lying ass.

So this Theory just popped in my Head an i thought i’d share. What if Bill had called SA before the visits about the Manaed stuff?, an had complained to her that Eric was becoming a problem for him with his pursuit of Sookie, an SA decided to go to Eric about getting into selling V with the sole purpose of framing Eric along with Pam, to get Eric out of the way so he doesn’t interfere with Bill’s Sookie mission. SA knows Eric’s older an stronger, an if Eric gets to close to Sookie, an uncovers what she really is that he can take her for himself, then she’s gotta go thru Eric for Sookie, an she’d rather not have to do that. SA does’nt want Eric to know about Bill’s mission cuz she fears Eric will interfere, an take Sookie for himself. I mean looking back to the Epi last Season where Bill went to see the Queen about the Manaed, when Eric showed up she made that comment to Bill about his Friend Mr. northman an their Alpha Male posturing. I’m sure they all have known eachother a long time, an Bill an Eric have never been buddy’s even before, but Bill an Eric got along more before Eric started becoming more interested in Sookie. So it comes off like SA knows about Bill an Eric’s back an forth fighting about Sookie. The look on SA’s Face when she walks in with the Magister, i think she’s lookin at Eric, an it just makes me think she possibly had no intention getting into V only to get Eric into it so she can frame him with the Magister, almost like a warning to back off from Sookie. I donno just thought i’d throw that out there.

I also forgot to add SA could’ve been acting when she said let Bill rot, an she called RE to keep Bill at the Mansion with Lorena till she is done dealing with Eric.

    • June 3, 2010 at 2:07 am

It’s definitely within the realm of possibility. I have my own theory of what SA is doing selling V, but I could see this scenario playing out, too.

Ok so how many times does the Magister come to Fangtasia. I just noticed that in the scene with him and QSA walking into Fangtasia, he has on a different tie from the scene he is torturing Pam. Now I gotta check what tie he has on when he is on Eric’s throne.

      June 3, 2010 at 4:39 am

I’m curious about that as well. I just saw the TV guide descriptions for the first two episodes and both Zeljko and ERW are listed as guest stars for the first episode but not the second. It looked to me like the scenes in the main room of Fangtasia with Eric, QSA and the Magister were separate from the scenes with the Magister and Pam and Eric in the DOD. The whole tone feels different and, I think that Eric’s outfits are also different. Maybe the Magister visits in the first episode and makes his threats and everyone offers denials but he finds out later and comes back and tortures Pam?

      • 272 Dee
        June 3, 2010 at 4:41 am

Yup, definitely different scenes. When QSA walks in with the Magister, he is wearing a black tie. When he is torturing Pam, he is wearing a blue and white tie. Also, when he is on the throne in Fangtasia, it’s a black tie.

          June 3, 2010 at 4:42 am

Plus QSA is dressed the same way as when she visits Eric in fangtasia and tells Eric “let him rot” So maybe the Magister is there because of Bill’s disappearance *scratches head*

            June 3, 2010 at 4:47 am

You might be right, that would explain things a little better. The Magister could’ve gone to QSA to ask her about it, she denies it and then they go visit Eric to ask him about it. He denies it too, but Magister doesn’t give up and after further investigation he finds out the truth. That is when he returns, finds evidence and tortures Pam.

The only reason they are torturing Pam is they want Eric to do something for them. They are using Pam as bait.

I agree, LLE. It seems they have enough proof to “arrest” them both. Why the theatrics then? Why parade Pam to Eric like that? There is something more going on here. It looks like he’s making a deal with Eric such as do something for me and I won’t kill Pam.

I was reading the commentary from the S2 TB Blue Ray edition (thanks Renee and Serena!) and it really shows how much Eric and Pam love eachother. Eric would die to protect Pam and vice versa – much like Eric was willing to die for Godric.

                • June 4, 2010 at 12:30 am

I agree. They’re holding Pam to get Eric to do something, or admit to something.

If I read one more comment (elsewhere) that Eric is letting Pam take the fall for the V because he’s just an evil prick I might scream.

Come ON. Did they even SEE that rooftop scene? Eric would never feed Pam to the dogs, no fucking way.

How do they know what Eric is gonna do? Of course they hate Eric so much that they just assume eric will let her take the fall.

We’ll probably see Eric going out of his way to save Pam. AND this is where we might get the scene with eric and another man.

WOW I am loving Eric’s portrayal so far. Aside from the first ep with DOD, everything else looks great.

Here is the best part. In the books, Bill, betrayed Sookie with lorena but she was his maker so blah blah blah some forgave him because he had to obey his maker. NOW on TB, AB had Lorena release Bill and she no longer has any control over him. So if he cheats, the whole maker excuse can’t be used like in the books. Also, in the books, Eric, needed Sookie to find Bill because his own ass counted on it. On TB, SA tells Eric to let bill rot and will help Sookie, which means he goes against his queens wishes and will do it simply to help her. Not to mention, if the edict comes out on the show, BL’s will say it was his queen he had to obey, but we see Eric willing to disobey the queen for Sookie.

I dont think some have caught on to this huge difference yet. Some still say Bill is breaking up with Sookie to protect her, but look what hes doing in the meantime?

                    • June 4, 2010 at 8:39 am

See this is what I find really weird. Someone explain to me please how breaking up with Sookie protects her? From anything? Because I’m just scratching my head here.

If Bill breaks up with Sookie, Sophie Anne isn’t just going to say “Oh well, I’ll find myself another naive telepath”. She still KNOWS about her. And Eric still KNOWS about her. And now it seems Russell and god knows who else knows about her. So how does his walking away protect her? It leaves her MORE vulnerable, if anything. It’s not like they’re interested in her just because she’s Bill’s and they’d lose interest when she isn’t.

If Bill wants to protect Sookie from his higher ups he needs to take some lessons from Book Eric. You need to bind her CLOSER to you, dipshit not push her away.

He is not trying to “protect” her from anything and if he is and he’s going about it like that, he’s too dumb to have a hope. Ugh.

This SVB! Not quite on topic so I’m sorry, but I just have to add that one thing that drives me crazy in the book discussion in when people try to say that Sookie would be safer with Eric out of her life and that he’s always dragging her into his vampire politics. Take Eric out of the equation and just see how safe and uninvolved Sookie would be, yeah right. She’s part of the supe world now whether she likes it or not and I really can’t think of anything that would change that. In both worlds, what she is is known by too many powerful supes for that to change. I’ve always thought that Eric was doing the right things to protect Sookie in the best way he possibly can. —end of rant— 😀

Exactly, SVB! This is also my thought! In the books, Bill actually asks Eric to protect Sookie since he is leaving her. On TB, Bill just walks away and leaves her vulnerable. Bill knows full well that Eric wants her and that he will protect her because he’s already seen him risk his life in the bombing. Plus, he knows that Sookie came through for Godric and Eric would feel like he owed her. AND like I said yesterday, he STILL doesn’t tell her that she’s in danger from the Queen. He just breaks up with her? How is that protecting her exactly?

This is exactly what I’m thinking. I think the Magister wants Russell for some reason. I just can’t figure out how this is going to happen since I’m assuming Eric kills Talbot when he and Sookie are trying to rescue Bill. Unless, this doesn’t happen until later.

Dee, I too love that Eric is not the one pressuring Sookie into finding Bill. 🙂 I love that it’s Sookie who is asking Eric for help. However, I do think the Queen will force Eric to find Bill. Bill is too valuable to her – she wants Sookie bad and Bill knows about the V. I think that “let him rot” line was edited and there is more to that sentence. Either way, Eric wasn’t going to involve Sookie which is good.

Yeah maybe the Talbot part comes in later?

Also, lets not forget Kristin Bauer, said that we will see Eric/Pam have a similar relationship to Godric/Eric. I assumed Pam going out of her way for her maker like Eric did for Godric. But maybe she just meant the loyalty and love between them. We might see Eric really fight to save Pam. Now if he seduces Talbot for this reason, I think people will be more accepting of it.

I think Ryan is damn fine too, his body is RIDICULOUS. I love that scene when he goes up to Crystal’s car and says something like “are you trying to resist me” the way he says it is HOTT

I’d take both Eric and Jason

Eric selling V is off, and the magister knows that… I’m sure he knows there is something behind that, maybe he suspects the queen, but needs a confesion, ofr wants to get him to work as a rat or some different information (Sookie or other queen strategics).
THe magister seems to know a lot, and that begins knowing the vamps in your area… He has to know the behaviour and principles of all of them… He tortures Pam, he knows Eric wouldn’t let that, he needs Eric.
It is the only reasonable reason I can find.

So…I was thinking about this on the way home today. Let’s say that Bill is trying to be “noble” and protecting Sookie by breaking up with her. Here’s the thing about that though – is he planning on telling her that QSA is after her??? Just because he’s out of the picture doesn’t mean that it will stop QSA from trying to acquire Sookie. So this noble gesture isn’t really all that noble because he didn’t fess up to why he was really in BT to begin with. The truth is that if he REALLY wanted to protect Sookie, and keep her from coming after him, the surest way to do that is by saying “We were doomed from the start, I never loved you – I pretended to love you because I was sent by a vampire Queen to seduce you”. I bet that phrase would keep her away for sure. 🙂

      June 3, 2010 at 11:00 pm

Bill is not protecting Sookie at all. If Bill really care about Sookie, Bill would had told Sookie the truth. Bill well not tell Sookie the truth the only way he going to do that is Eric orders Bill to confess.

Bill was planning on running way with Sookie so the Queen would not get her because he was afraid he would lose her.

        June 3, 2010 at 11:08 pm

And another thing, at least Book Bill tells Sookie to go to Eric so that he can protect her. Bill himself was also going to go to Eric to strike a deal to protect her since he was leaving her. However, on TB, Bill doesn’t even do that. So how is breaking up with her protecting her exactly? Even if were to leave her, she would still be in danger from Russell.

In the book Bill and Eric work as a team protecting Sookie. On the show Bill will never asked Sookie to go to Eric if something happen to him. AB wants Bill and Eric argue everytime they are around each other.

Sookie lands in the hospital this season and Bill could be the one who injury Sookie. I wonder who going to protect Sookie from Bill?

I think AB will have Eric and Bill form some kind of tenuous alliance to protect Sookie, further down the line. It’s not appropriate at this stage but I think it will come.

Just had to add my bit about Bill breaking up with Sookie on the phone to protect her. In my view, Bill likes to present himself as the tortured romantic type. For me the sacrificing himself to ‘protect’ Sookie is more about him than about her at this stage. He may as well be like, “look at me I am giving up the woman I love to save her, oh woe is me, I am so tortured and so saintly!” I’m sure he doesn’t think much about what the outcome or consequences will be for her, if at all. I think he does love her and want to protect her but for the wrong/selfish reasons. He doesn’t really think about what she wants or needs at all (hence the possessiveness and smothering). To me he sees her as his redemption, a way for him to regain his humanity and essentially a replacement for his human wife. Seems to me it’s all about him and his salvation more than about her actual safety or happiness. Even the cheating with Lorena I’m sure in his mind he will see it/justify it as further torturing himself!!! Some people (BLs) seem to find this appealing but I’ve never had much time for tortured romantic types…life’s too short!

This is from a Wall Street Journal article on the wolves:

“Rugby, a 100-pound perky hybrid, had his cream-colored coat dyed brown so he could stand in for chocolate-colored wolf Shadow for a scene in which a person jumps in front of a bullet to save a werewolf. ”

So maybe Eric saving a werewolf from Sookie’s gun in that clip we saw early in the promos. Interesting….cause why?

Love at 1:16 of this promo whene Sookie is sitting on the couch with Eric’s jacket beside her, I assume he is off dispatching the Were. She looks nervous, doesn’t know who is returning. Obviously it’s Eric but I kind of wanna see how she reacts to that. I want her to jump up and hug him. Highly unlikely that’ll happen but I can dream. 🙂

    • 351 Lotus
      June 6, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Hm. Could be. Or, they could belong to the were Eric eventually eats, since he’s likely to have shifted out of his clothes at some point. I think I see a pair of boots. Sookie is also still holding the gun as she sits there. Where would Eric have gone? Because we know we will see them later walking down her driveway, the were’s blood still on his mouth, which means at some point he gets dressed again.

Oh! Or, Sookie comes home and there are a strange set of clothes on her front porch, and she’s sitting on the couch with her gun when Eric arrives. Maybe her looking up is a sound on the front porch. It looks to be near dark by the light through the window. Wouldn’t Terry have stayed with her, since in other promos you see him guiding her home through the woods after giving her the gun?

      • 352 Willowbella
        June 6, 2010 at 9:54 pm

I think this could be the second time Sookie sees the creepy Were as it seems to be at night.

I think you are right that the first time she sees him is during the day and in the woods, perhaps he is spying on her. Terry does seem to be there, in his tool belt so I assume he is doing repairs on her house. So maybe Terry stops/interrupts the Were’s first attempt.

I also think Terry gives her the gun at Merlotte’s before she goes home that night (isn’t it in the store room)? She must run in to Eric somewhere in between Merlotte’s and her house.

I think the scene I was talking about above takes place after Eric gets his invite and strides into her house spoiling for a fight. The Were is already in there, in wolf form, and then Eric fights it and at some point gets shot.

Maybe he takes his jacket off to check his wound and the Were wakes up and tries to escape and Eric goes after him. The Were never has any clothes as far as I know. He is in wolf form first then shifts to human form naked (we see Eric kill him in human form in a promo). Eric then goes back to Sookie (who is waiting unsure who will be returning).

The scene of them walking down the road and him having blood on his mouth would be directly after this. Don’t know where she is going…walking him to his car perhaps? I wasn’t sure if he has blood on his mouth when he says, “Hello sweetheart” to Laffy?

That’s my take on it anyhow. I could be wrong, but thankfully it’s not long now till I find out. 🙂

        • 353 Lotus
          June 6, 2010 at 11:05 pm

The “hello sweetheart” line takes place at a different time because Eric is wearing another set of clothes. We also know that the were goes after Eric and says “Give me a taste, fucker,” talking about his blood. I also saw where Andy MacKenzie, the actor who plays the were, twittered about drinking Eric’s blood a couple of weeks ago.

          “Ok it’s official. I saw the 1st scene of TB 303 where I a****k Eric & d***k his b***d. Gnarly. Oops, hope I didn’t spoil it. 😉 #FangFriday”

I believe that after Eric arrives, Sookie comes in behind him with the gun, shoots, and Eric jumps in front of the bullet to keep the werewolf alive for questioning. The were then shifts back to human form, attacks Eric, and when the tables are turned, meets his end on the wrong side of vampire fang. It could be that they are walking down the road afterward in order to find the were’s car or to get some fresh air and discuss what to do with the body. The were shows up in epi. 2 hiding in the woods and he’s dressed then, so those could be his clothes. Maybe after the shooting scene, they walk down the road, and return to the house where Eric retrieves the body for disposal. Maybe Sookie is sitting there on the couch waiting for him to return. If the were was already in her house, then it could be that he broke in in human form, took off his clothes and shifted, and Sookie finds the clothes while Eric is cleaning up the evidence.

Well, in the new (very short) promo they just aired it seems that Eric is digging a grave in order to bury the body (as Sookie watches) so I think they’re walking back to her house from there. There isn’t anything new on the promo – the same scenes from this one + this new grave digging scene. It’s very fast.
